Hanping Chinese Camera

sad thing,reason : 1. Google translate has camera function now, it's a lot better than this one. 2. u release hanping popup, which is a lot more useful than hanping camera , the hanping camera need u to screenshot first before translate while popup didnt. 3. I actually want refund or better change hanping camera to hanping popup, can I ? 5 star if u can make this happen so I could be amazingly satisfied

Not as good as google cam. We can not read whole sentences. If there is a way to do so please let me know.. Just word by word is not worthcto pay money... As we get google cam free of charge.

I like the app, no mistake about that. It's highly accurate. But for now it can only recognize a line of word. It would be much more better if it could recognize a whole paragraph.

I have recently switched from learning Korean Hanja to learning Chinese Hanzí and this app in conjunction with the dictionary has made the transition very smooth, especially the ability to view simplified and traditional characters

After initial hesitation, I am finding more and more uses for the app. I like the tone coloring feature, helps with reading :) I hope to one day be able to play audio with a single tap and have the option to run OCR on the whole page, rather than line by line.

Doesn't work very well. Not very accurate nor precise. Google translate and camera is better and free. Not worth what I paid for it.

I use it mostly to read screen shots of text I can't select. It works beautifully as long as the text and background are of sufficient contrasting colors for the text to be recognizable. It works equally well using the camera feature but since I'm unfortunately in Arizona instead of China, I don't find as much opportunity to use the camera directly.

Its good to user but it tends to explain each character by character and you have to switch to dictionary to heard how its pronounced. You should allow it show whole line of character and enable speech on it or copy to clipboard for pasting into hangping dictionary or google translate to heard to it spoken.

Would be better if given the option for phrases to span lines, otherwise it just explains word by word

This app is amazing! It takes a picture and correctly identifies all the Chinese characters; the app translates each word so that you know the literal meaning. The app is extremely useful if you want to quickly find out the general meaning of a sentence and don't want to handwrite every single character into the dictionary app. This app was worth every cent!

Does what it says on the package (pun intended)

Bought some food from an Asian supermarket that looked nice but the cooking instructions were in Chinese and I couldn't work them out from the pictures! Despite a patterned background this app perfectly recognised and translated the characters. Amazing app!

If you use it correctly.

"。" or it tends to pair the word BEFORE the full-stop to the word AFTER the full-stop, giving the wrong meaning

Doesn't work on food menu, at least the one I tried. Very disappointing.I regret this purchase but I'll give it a second and third and fourth try soon.

I was skeptical. Now I have No regrets. Super useful for people lIke me who has problem recognize Chinese words, and especially has kids to guide as well. Thank you for creating this app.

It can read vertical words! Perfect!

Love this app, use it daily living in China and studying Chinese. My only issue is that the capture button to take a photo is awkwardly placed. Often I have whatever I'm taking a picture of in one hand and the phone in the other, and it's awkward to hit the capture button. Is it possible to add full screen, tap anywhere capture? Or move the button down near the bottom center where the thumb naturally hovers when holding the phone vertically. Thanks for the great app. Hanping dict. is my most used app!

It is so fast to take a picture and lookup all the words in a sentence. Much better than trying to look up individually with character recognition. I've used all the Hanping dictionary add ons in China. Great educational apps!

This is going to be handy! Tried it on five lines on the back of a book. It read the first four perfectly. On the fifth one it fouled up. Got every character wrong & said it was a similar character. Hope it doesn't do that again! Love Hanping and it's developer! Didn't have to re-purchase the Hanping cidian after I got a new phone!
