Smart Stay Ex (DO NOT BUY)

I'd got myself an HTC One X after many.. MANY years of using brick phones. As of yet, I've found no huge value in the phone, but I work from home so do not travel much. The use I do get (beyond calls and texts that is) was always hampered by the dag blasted screen shutting off while I was reading -- Which is frequently. I knew the S3 had a smart function that would keep it on, so I figured I'd see if there was something comparable in the app store. Woot! There was! That said, the free version did not work well at all in my office. The lighting was not that dim, as I'd think it, but who knows. Given the dirt cheap price I thought it was worth the try on the full version, so I bought it. Best thing I've put on the phone so far! It works well in low light, at the chair, outside, etc etc. Propped it up against a glass facing me for 5 minutes while I was working on the comp and it stayed on fine. Lay it down on the desk and it eventually turns off as expected. All in all, I have no complaints about the full version. Well worth it.

Firstly, I very rarely purchase items from the Play Store. I tend to use the free versions of most apps I have installed on my One X. I installed the free version of this app earlier today and was so impressed that I have now purchased the paid for version. This app does exactly what it says it will do. It stops the screen turning off if you're looking at it. So simple, it's brilliant!

Works exactly as expected for the few hours I've been using it, no judge on battery drain but RAM usage doesn't seem high.

Right now I'm guessing I have some settings not right maybe. I'm going to keep trying.

One of the features that I want from is GS3 is now in my GS2. Thank you! Hoping for more features, updates, bug fixes and more supported devices.

.. However, after a while starts locking in the screen on position, and will come on at night with notification or such like, then keeping screen on so I wake to find a dead battery. Has usual issues in low light or bright background light situations (think our front facing camera hardware, even my HTC one x, is still much too low res and poxy for these type apps right now)

Your last update broke support for my device and now you tell me not to buy this? What a scam. Refund me or I'll make sure the new app gets bad publicity. I'm contacting Google.

In order for my camera to work correctly (cannot connect to camera error), I have to add the camera to the exceptions list, now, when the Smart Stay app tries to scan (using the camera) it doesn't work because (my guess) it is using the camera, it just scans, and stays "shut eye" It works fine if I disable the exception list. **Edit** after disabling the "Low light support" it seems to work with the exception list enabled

App works great. I'm really glad developer lisent our suggestions. Will recommend.

Working perfect on my note (ICS ROM)

this is an app that would be very useful to me. with idle time and low light support on, its hit or miss, which isnt good enoug. I'm not sure if I'm holding it at the wrong angle or something. will keep around to see if updates help

Works well on my One X. This was one of the features of the SIII that I liked when deciding which phone to get.

Shutter sound continues even if turned off on the settings. Very annoying every 5 seconds or so. Cant recommend. Tried everything including rebooting my phone. Will uninstall. Useless to me. Samsung galaxy 2

Doesn't work and the dev has gone AWOL.

I bought this last Friday and it worked. On Monday it was obsolete. Not only that, the new version force closes all the time. I want a refund.

Works great on my galaxy nexus and my stratosphere!

works perfect. Only the Pro version supports the Idle Time Feature. The Free Version adduced a crash of the app. Furthermore, you can en- or disable the notification (the eye in the left corner). I have included the camera and the video player apps to the exception list. The low-light option of the pro version works perfectly. You can sit in a dark room only with the monitor of your pc and the apps works as before. But there are some small bugs (sometimes you choose "on" but the slider goes back to "off" although the function works without any problems). I like to support this developer. My Device is an Galaxy S2 with CyanogenMod 9 and Siyah Kernel.

It works great on my Galaxy SIII while running a Custom ROM. I have tested it multiple times with light and low light, it has only surprised me so far.

This is a great application. Works really well on my xoom in nearly all lighting conditions. It is a real shame you are not continuing work on THIS version as the the OTHER version DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, even after all the other developers updates, I see zero improvement. You should never have merged. Bring back THIS version I say.

Complained of constant crash on start and three hours later it was fixed. Impressed. Still doesnt work on my device but good response time fixing issues.

I had lot of expectations when I purchased this app. As soon they merged with the other dev, none of the apps work anymore. The app keeps crashing. It doesn't work consistently . My first paid app that is a total waste of money.

I use this version, and also recommend this (eventhough it says don't buy), the green smart stay is garbage. it's more expensive and doesn't work well. I made a titanium backup of the app, I hope I can keep using this working version for a long time. I have paid for this program and I am really irritated by the merger with an obviously inferior product.

Worked great on Droid Razr, but having trouble detecting face after update. Tried video vs snap shot only to no avail

Please Don't forget your users that bought your app before your merge.....previous problem >>>After install it directs you to the 'new' version, can't install says not compatible with my device, please fix or refund

Don't uninstall the old version on nexus 7. New version not compatible with device and now I can't reinstall old version. Please fix. Works good on my GS2

New version works in galaxy nexus just fine, no issues.

Brought back but won't work fcs all the time come on dev this was really good now useless!!!

So far on my SGS2 I have not got it to work. Have tried different distances and angles. Will keep messing with it.

As the title says, the Dev after a week still has provided no support and it doesn't work on my: Galaxy Nexus Nexus S One S

I'm using Asus Google Nexus 7, this application does exactly what it's expected to! I just love it, but I have one problem is that it's not working on my Galaxy Nexus. it's running jelly bean also, so I don't think it's an OS version problem. I have contacted the developer and within an hour or so he/she replied that they're working on it! so that's another plus! there are few developers that even reply to their customers! thumbs up guys! and keep up the good work!

If the Idle Time feature didnt trigger the TalkBack feature, (which reads aloud everything in an app such as Facebook or Browser and is EXTREMELY annoying), I would have given this 5 stars. Good work so far, keep it up. HTC One X.
