محمد صديق المنشاوي (1920-1969) واحد من رواد التلاوه، تميّز بأسلوب متميز وحزين بتلاواته. ولد الشيخ محمد بقرية المنشاة التابعة لـمحافظة سوهاج في جمهورية مصر العربية، وأتم حفظ القرآن الكريم وهو في الثامنة من عمره؛ حيث نشأ في أسرة قرآنية عريقة، فأبوه الشيخ صديق المنشاوي هو الذي علمه فن قراءة القرآن الكريم، وقد وضع أبوه الشيخ الجليل صديق المنشاوي هذه المدرسة العتيقة الجميلة والمنفردة بذاتها، وبإمكاننا أن نطلق عليها (المدرسة المنشاوية)؛ فأخذ منها الشيخ محمد أسلوبه وطوره بما يناسبه فصار علمًا من أعلام خدام القرآن. وقد استمد الشيخ محمد من تلك المدرسة الكثير الذي كان سببًا في نجاحه بعد صوته الخاشع، ولُقِّب الشيخ محمد صديق المنشاوي بـ"الصوت الباكي".
