BART Watch for Android
There is a bug in the add a photo feature. Please fix. I attempted to add a photo 10 times of a man accosting passengers, leaning into them as they were seated yelling vulgarities. I attempted to quickly and discretely send a photo and alert through the app. While I was already in fear I had to deal with technical issues. I sent the report without the photo, but I would have had peace of mind that you could locate him easier if you had the photo.
I just love this acronym!
I was leary about anything BART handles, but thought I'd give it a try. Downloaded enroute and submitted a complaint, what do you know, two stops later, a BART police officer showed up at the train car and looked into the non-emergency situation. Needless to say, I was impressed!
The cops came to the train in 5 minutes....must have app if you are a regular BART rider
I downloaded this to report an issue and someone replied immediately to let me know that the incident want illigal so I had to deal. Thanks a lot BART is trash anyways and so is this.
Over 45 minutes of communication the office couldn't find my car in the system. I gave the number and each station my train was approaching. No help. Another time, my report didn't even transmit--after 4 hrs!
Advertise this on the train! You guys should also implement a SMS short code system so riders can just text an issue rather than launch an app and go through the reporting flow. Easy to implement and far easier for riders to access.
App needs away to update and / or allow other people to add to alerts in case the situation changes.
Please stop sending alerts when there is nothing urgent! Seriously, don't wake me with an alert during my phone's downtime to tell me where to park!! Or at least let me opt out of PSAs and just let me be alerted when there is an actual emergency.
This app is good for reporting, but the video part not only needs to be longer, but at the same time needs to be faster in loading and staying attached to the app. Can't go by just photos alone.
This app is stupid. Every one that uses bart has had this since the 1st day they have had a cell phone. The bart police number is posted by every door on the train. Save it to speed dial if it's that important. That's 100x's faster. This just helps people be lazier and less aware of your surroundings.

Useless app... They just tell you to perform a citizen's arrest, which is not safe. The police are paid and armed, and it is their job... Developing this app was a waste of money.
Nice concept, but BART police are too lazy to actually enforce the rules, if they ever do show up. Other transit systems actually have pro-active rule enforcement against people taking up multiple seats, playing loud music, etc... If you report something with this app, and the police actually show up, they'll probably say it's, "not a crime" and just leave.
No followup on posted alerts, and when a push message is recieved, no message exists in the app with further information. "A sketch of an offender is attached to this message" open message to blank alerts page.
Good but needs to ask on seperate input line(s), what car number if applicable, report is about so that assistance is faster. In the moment, we the observer can't always remember to provide everything needed for BART police to respond appropriately, nor do people have time to read a paragraph of instructions.
Let's see the bums try to poop on the train in front of me now!
Dang thing actually works and the police actually resond when you use it! I'm impressed. Wish BART advertised this app on its trains more so that more people used it.
When are you guys gonna update the system map to the current map? It still has AirBART on there?

old san franciscoans
Installed on Note 3. Submitted a report the morning, and it continues to state "Sending Alert to Bart". Uninstalled.
I sent a report and less than 5 minutes later I was talking to someone about the issue on the app, tenouttaten, will use again.
Super easy to use to alert police of anything suspicious or illegal. Allows reporting of panhandling and other activities quietly and safely. Easy interface and very fast.
Unfortunately, not all of BART's routes have consistent data service, rendering this app useless in many places, particularly the underground sections.

Wont install. LG L70. Tried multiple times. Other apps install fine. HELP PLEASE
I had to call BART the second day I had the app. Within one stop they were at the train car to remove a passenger that was having a mental health issue.
This is a long awaited for app. It looks great seems easy to use. Not able to "pull down" on alerts in android as the tutorial asks you to do. But I sent a test alert and it worked fine and was easy.
Nice idea in theory, but since I installed it today, the link to BART's mobile alert page keeps automatically opening my browser when I'm doing other things on my phone. Uninstalled.
Contemporary colors, clean lines, great user interface, simple and effective. I am happy with the layout, I havent had to call the police yet, but the gps feature and the flashless camera are the next wave of safety.
So why has it taken THIS ling to make this kind of reporting tool? I JUST downloaded the app & haven't had a need to use it yet...but I'm sure I won't have to wait long! I just hope people actually USE the app...most people in San Francisco have the 'don't know, don't see, DON'T GET INVOLVED' ...maybe MAYBE MAYBE HOPEFULLY more people WILL.'see/say/get involved' ...but I noticed the reason people seem to not get involved ISN'T due to fear of retaliation or ridicule or pain...people are SELFISH. That's all.
I've witnessed many incidents on BART. Besides waiting to get to my destination to report to an agent, which by that time would be to late, what was one to do? Get up and stuggle through commuters to get to one end of the car to report on the intercom...to risky and not discreet at all!
So far so good. This should have been invented years ago
All the testing, etc worked fine. When it came time to use it, my report wouldn't ever send, even with full service. Uninstalled.
Must have if youre Daily Rider
I love the fact that with all the issues on Bart. There is a safer way to notify Bart pd
Prompt response from authorities most of the time. One incident poor handling of call.
Keep getting error code 919 and wont doanload. Dont know if its barts of and on wifi or what??
