About Vocab Drill

A vocabulary training app that builds upon the KVTML 2.0 file format. KVTML is a dictionary-like format commonly used by The KDE Education Project. It is compatible with Parley and WordQuiz (KWordQuiz). Vocab Drill can also open training files from Dropbox. Some features: multiple choice mode, flashcard mode, Dropbox sync, (some) stats, Leitner system, file entry browsing and search, plus lessons are supported too.

Vocab Drill is now open source, any improvements are very welcome! You can find the source here:

I like the idea of this app. But there is no development progress. App crashed when opening larger files. Conclusion: get AnkiDroid It's working better.

This program is fantastic, beautiful clean interface, simple operation and most importantly for me it uses the file format of flashcard programs available on Linux and Windows (even OS X with some effort). You can use WordQuiz on Windows to create, import, modify etc. Better yet, you can use KWordQuiz or Parley on Linux. They are both KDE programs which means they can also be run on Windows and OS X. The program does not have a straight FlashCard style review but it automatically creates multiple choice questions for you, also has a mode to type in answers and a browse mode. I like to use my decks a quick reference sometimes. Does not currently have DropBox integration but you can get around that easily with FolderSync. -j

I was learning German and needed an app that could read files from programs on Ubuntu (Linux). I created my vocab lists with Parley, tossed em on Drop box and had access to it on all my devices. Now that drop box is integrated, even better! Love this app, keep up the great work.
