Drop for Android
Transfer works beautifully between my two devices, the GT-I9505 running 4.3 and my Nexus 7 2013 running 4.4.2. Great app. Thanks!
Not working good on sony devices
You claim that file transfer happens over wifi direct. But it uses bluetooth between nexus 5 and nexus 4. Please clarify.
Возможно это абсолютно шикарная программа, но я не нашёл способа с её помощью скинуть файлы на компьютер.
...dropped from using this app. Great concept but couldn't drop anything from the wife's SIII to my Galaxy Nexus. It says connection failed...then suggest to turn ✈ mode on! Da hell? Even doing so didn't work. Will check again another time.
I was able to transfer between my N7 and S4, no issues. Since it uses wifi-direct, i am assuming you can transfer between only those two devices that supports wifi-direct correct? or you can make it work even if only one of the Wi-Fi devices is compliant with Wi-Fi Direct. Say for example Mac - S4?
I haven't tested but does this app work with apple devices?
Good app while it lasted. No developer anymore.
The app works good and looks very nice. Maybe you can add a function to share files also with a kind of website. So if my ip is 192.168.1.2 a device with ip 192.168.1.3 can acces my files if permission is given. So the other device doesn't need to have the app installed on his device. With this feature you can also access it via your computer if I am right.
Why do you need contacts permission?
Trying to pair with a MacBook Pro. OSX 10.9.4 am able to get it to pair but it loses connection almost immediately and repeats when trying to reconnect. Galaxy S5 VZW stock firmware w/ root.
The UI stands out among the other file sharing apps. Functionality seems erratic though. I tried sharing from a HTC One M8 to a Nexus 5 and the first time it didn't progress beyond 14%, second time hung the Nexus 5, and the third time it transferred alright but was stuck at 99% on the sending phone. Iron out the functionality part and this app has great potential.
And it allows me to get large files from my girlfriend's Samsung phone, which is apparently a lot to ask for. It works fast and seems to be stable. I like it.
Love the concept, the design but there are too many bugs 1)Takes too much time to find other device 2) doesn't works if drop isn't installed on both devices 3)force closes everytime i tried to send a file Please fix these issues and best of luck, this can be the next big thing

Seriously, the Airdrop idea for android is amazing. Just wished more people knew about this app. *sell to Google* and integrate with stock android? :D
Wow..! Exllent speed.files transfer rate @20mbps
This is an amazing app so simple to transfer files, great work by the developers.
Sharing between devices is a key feature for me. I'm a Nexus owner (4&7) and from my experience Google's android connectivity team needs to address issues with WiFi direct. This app goes a long way to solve that but it has a mind of its own. Cannot blame the devs because its free and works when compared to android's broken native WiFi direct. I hope the devs keep up the good work and improve connectivity issues.
The app w/o any user approval directly changes the Bluetooth device's name... I understand that you are trying to advertise your application that way..but I think it only brings negative review.
As stated above OK for droid to droid but that's it!send anywhere at least u can "send any where!" Snazzy looks alone won't win prizes...even just file master pro which has now dropped premium features for free let's u ping files to other fmp users...on top of that u got other features safe box etc....I'll stick to those 2 for now
This is awesome I've introduced all my friends and family to this app, it just makes sharing so easy.
This app is rather weird unless I'm mistaken,by my tests, I found that it uses bluetooth to connect to another phone /tablet and then shares files with Wi-Fi direct? Why use both of them? There are ton of apps which only need Wi-Fi On to connect to another device. The battery is drained more by this method. Otherwise this app works fine.
Definitely faster than just normal bluetooth - tested this with some good sized videos and it performed well. The UI is also quite clean - always a good thing. However... Speed means nothing if the connection keeps dropping and the app force closes. Also, some kind of file manager would be a HUGE asset in finding the particular thing you want. Finally, since leaving the bluetooth on is unhealthy, it would be great if it could enable and disable. Good start. ***Update: I just realized that if a file isn't music, or a picture or a document, I can't find much less send it. That file manager's becoming really important now. That or "share" integration with an existing FM app.***
Good start but I need search option for files since I have a large messed up music collection I don't want to scroll all the way down to select the file I want to send ! Hope PC sync option available in future , what the hell is with icon ? It's too similar like contact ! Why am I not getting the colorful drop icon !
I have used this app only once. It renamed the BT name of the two devices involved. Now, that does not hamper functionality, granted - but it does take away from my personal sense of aesthetics. Am wary of ever using it again. An NFC bump is a good enough alternative to this app for me.
only music, images, videos and recognized documents under Downloads folder are recognized. It is difficult to send files from somewhere else in other formats.
It is a great app,but mine has no icon for some reason.could u tell me how to fix it?
...but doesn't work between my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7. Until then it's like a decent car with no engine.
Could really use a share intent so other apps can send files as well, other than that, great!
This has totally replaced Bluetooth Technology. It's super fast and super reliable. However please improve the UI and make it more clutter free with cards based UI and larger content.

But doesn't work between my nexus 10 and HTC one
I have HTC one x+ and I could successfully transfer a file to nexus 5 for the first time..but from second time it is saying connection error..I toggled aeroplane mode several times in both mobiles but of no use ...But I love the concept and would be very happy if u make it work for my mobile..
I am very happy with this app. Seems to work flawlessly between my Moto X Nexus 5,7 and 10. a small annoyance is that the app doesn't set your bluetooth back to non-discoverable after the app is closed. But this is a small grip that I got over quickly with the effectiveness of not using a QR code or tapping the devices together. I have not experienced the lag site din other reviews, I will say that everything is well and working. So far so good.

Used it to transfer more than 200 pics with family members during holidays. Gave me a lot of trouble with the inconsistency of connection between devices but when it worked. It was fast, easy and convenient. It sets up wifi direct connection between devices which is way faster than Bluetooth and since it's created between devices so doesn't use home wifi. I hope the connectivity plus part improves in future.
Hello there! Well you have made a great application, that makes sharing large files between me and my friends much easier and faster... I really like it, and been searching for something like it for a long time now. Now, i would like to make a feature request for the app: " I would like and really hope you make a desktop companion app for windows, so that we can also seamlessly wirelessly share files between an android device and a windows pc/tablet." My congrats & best of wishes!
I like the idea behind this app. 1 small suggestion, please add the drop option to share menus. That would make it even more utilitarian.

Works well with my Samsung devices, but prefer using Superbeam as this is more reliable ..however Drop has a better interface. Looking forward to seeing more features soon!
