Logun Edé (lógunèdè) é o orixá da riqueza e da fartura, filho de Oxum e Oxóssi, deus da guerra e da água. É, sem dúvida, um dos mais bonitos orixás do Candomblé, já que a beleza é uma das principais características dos seus pais.

Rei de Ilexá,caçador habilidoso e príncipe soberbo, Logun Edé reúne os domínios de Oxóssi e Oxum e quase tudo que se sabe a seu respeito gira em torno de sua paternidade.

Apesar de sua história, é preciso esclarecer que Logun Edé não muda de sexo a cada seis meses, ele é um orixá do sexo masculino. Sua dualidade se dá em nível comportamental, já que em determinadas ocasiões pode ser doce e benevolente como Oxum e em outras, sério e solitário como Oxóssi. Logun Edé é um orixá de contradições; nele os opostos se alternam, é o deus da surpresa e do inesperado.

Na Nigéria, a cidade de Logun Edé chama-se Ilexa e é uma das mais ricas e prósperas da África, anualmente fazem encontros com vários festivais vindo pessoas de toda as partes da África.

Na África negra, dizem que Logun Edé seria na verdade Ólògún Ode – o guerreiro caçador – o maior entre todos os caçadores, pai de todos eles, inclusive de Oxóssi. E se observarmos a cantiga de Oxóssi, veremos que expressão Omo ode, ou seja, filho do caçador, é constante, podendo inferir certa lógica nas histórias contadas pelos africanos, como também sua ligação com Ogun.
