BoatCoach for rowing & erging for Android
Great app but it crashes on long rows (1 hour plus) and Google login with Strava doesn't work.
Great app. Really useful to keep me in check whilst sculling. Use a lot of speed of the catch metric
Am I the only person who actually uses this in a BOAT? Allows selection of boat preferences (1x, 2x, 2-/+, ,4X-/-, 4-/+, 8+) for accurate recording of entire on-water session. Live stoke rate unfortunately needs some fine tuning as I'm pretty certain human beings are incapable of 80spm (only intermittently, the feature is generally reliable). Allows great feedback for my various crews, however would be good to see some kind of analysis of where power lies in individual crewmember strokes in order to take advantage of / work on strengths & weaknesses IOT get some harmony in our pieces. HEAPS cheaper than forking out over $500 for a stroke coach with GPS. Haven't hooked up to my HRM yet but that's not my priority at this stage.
BoatCoach has been my "goto" since I found the second-by-second data harvesting capability. For an Excel junkie, I'm in data heaven, though use Quickoffice Pro on my android for all that great conditional formatting. The best erg app for me.
Brilliant for training and organising training programs and very portable if your traveling. (Concept 2 rower).
Easy to use. Good info and tracks progress and history.
Has 500 settings but doesn't even have a simple way to view the details of your previous rows
Absolute garbage. App fails to recognise connection to PM4.
Highly recommended for the serious rower. I have a C2 and use the app to connect to my PM5 and HRM via bluetooth. I corrupted one of my session files and the developer worked with me closely to get it working.
Great product, great support from Dan. If you are serious about Concept2 Rowing, this is almost mandatory.
I am quite new in rowing, have a C2 and getting into it but for some reason the app creates 3 logs or copies for each workout that are same each time. If I delete 2 all of them disappear. Or if I sync with C2 it sends 3 workouts instead of 1. Can you look into this? Thanks
Working well once again :)
The app seems to have a lot of trouble with recording the workout and the workout programming isn't designed to work well with the concept2 system... If there was another good option I would good with it.
Won't download workouts from concept 2 logbook. Going back to the official concept 2 app.

Only app that I know of that allows a rower to collate all erg, water, and HR data in one place. Probably an excellent coaching tool for independent scullers and small boat men with the maps and graph up grades, but I haven't used it that way....yet. For me the killer app is the ability it gives you to hook up a fundamentally superior Bluetooth HRM to a Pm3 erg. For less money than an ergstick. A full training plan tool and time in zone Hr tracker would make this pretty much perfect.
Unable to evaluate with my Nexus 5x / PM5 as bluetooth is a premium feature
Great upgrade to Concept2's ErgData. It's made by the same developer only it includes greater functionality. It can be used for on-water rowing although I only use it on my Model D with PM5. To use it you have to buy the Bluetooth PM5 connection upgrade, although I would suggest just buy the Basic bundle (in-app upgrade). With it you will be able to connect to the PM5, sync with Concept2's Logbook, use training programs (main reason to use it for me), and see graphs of your workout. You can also get Heart Rate without the additional module if you pair your HRM to the PM5 instead of to the smartphone. I wish it would include Heart Rate Zones so you could do zone training in the app, instead of having to rely on another app. While a tad expensive, overall I would recommend the app for serious erging.
Same developer for free Ergdata app. Boat Coach adds some more stuff but not worth hefty fee per user. Has to be most expensive app in google play. Developer very responsive to questions but inflexible on price. Really glad he made deal with C2 on Ergdata app which I use all the time. Look forward to graphing being added to free app.
I haven't used this for a while but am pleased to see that the developer has added new feature upon feature.
Clean interface, syncs with the Concept2 log book. Renewed my passion for rowing after I had fallen off the wagon.

It works well for what I do and I purchased the whole bundle. I do like to track my fitness over all and wished it pushed info from the row to the Fitness Apps. ( I know others use other fitness tracking apps)
I use this to convert my phone into a speed coach on the water, and to easily log my erg workouts. Great app!
The upgrades are worth the money. Very easy to program a workout. Wish I could rate it 10 stars.
Good improvements over time. Chat in rowing with friends should be improved, but I know it is a very recent addition. Using PM3, Polar H7, Nexus 5 (Lollipop).
This app has really made the erg c2 pm3 even better ... I really enjoy using the erg for cross training and this app has helped me push harder with a more consistent stroke... The developer has been really responsive and clearly answered my questions...its worth the money to me... It syncs my workouts to the c2 site and now the polar h7 hrm works with the erg...
Outstanding and useful app. Developer is great at following up and making tweaks to an already awesome app.
Exactly what I'm looking for in a rowing app. Icing on the cake would be to add Bluetooth functionality to pair the phone wirelessly to the PM5 new version 17 update. Dev: I am happy to beta test :) Nexus 5 user here
Via BLE it can be only paired with one device, either watch or BoatCoach, not both.
Somehow logging (log book) does not work (does not record workouts) with PM5 (firmware version 12). Couldn't figure it out, with PM3 everything's fine...?
I have the latest PM5 head unit. During interval sessions, I am getting rest periods which should be 5 mins only coming out as 1 min rest sessions... Can you please fix this ASAP? Also, do you have plans to let the BoatCoach App connect to the PM5 via BLE, so the USB cord is no long necessary? On my ipad, with ergdata, this seems to work quite well. Wishing it could be a built-in feature to boatcoach, so the phone could be charging and still receiving data simultaneously...
After paying to upgrade to programs (and graphs) I was frustrated when sometimes programs don't appear to work, it gets stuck in loops, for example on 40 minute row it just kept repeating the 30 second sprint. I will update this review in a week or so when I have seen if this glitch was a one off
Especially for split/500! Be the first rowing app with android wear support!
Any way to connect with a waterrower machine?
But I guess rowing is for rich people :-)
The stroke rate doesn't work accurately at all.
But i dont have ergmeter so pointless app for me.
So the basic functionality is quite good, though you really pay through the nose for the full app. Its one of the most expensive apps of its kind and has certainly priced itself out of my wallet.

Worked once and then had trouble recognizing the PM5. They were connected by cable, but the app wouldn't recognize it. When it would finally recognize the PM5 it would then promptly drop it and tell me to connect it. For the hefty price you have to pay I would expect to get something that actually works consistently. Definite waste of money. Would not recommend it at all until it can actually maintain connectivity.
