Efergy Ego for Android
Just works P e r f e c t l y. Android 5.1.1 & Firmware v28. Connected via cable & power relay to my water heater. Please add some widgets...
Have upgraded SW and it now works great. Have revised my rating as promised. Thank you for the advice. Any chance in future we can save files and delete history?
The App is great, but I find the weird maximum on the amount of timers you can set for a single plug/device (8 in all) to be annoying and pointlessly limiting. Please Efergy, either add a load more slots or remove the limit altogether! Tip for installation: If you are using Sky in the UK, you need to go into the wireless settings in your router (usually 192.168.0.1 in your browser address bar) and after clicking on the wireless tab (asks for username password, default is admin / sky ) and then under "Wireless settings", change the MODE from "AUTO" to "54g AUTO". After this change, the plugs can see the router and work well. So... Bravo, lots of fun... but that timer limit (found also on other similar devices) is really annoying to me. 4 stars until they increase it. But otherwise, fantastic.
How do you change the tariff rate? If I edit it always says $1/kwh regardless of what I change it to
This app is mature. It should have fixed its bugs in the years I've had my 3 egos. Scan has NEVER once worked. AP connect works maybe 1 in 50 times with no rhyme or reason. Instructions are incomplete as to what to do after you direct connect. Sometimes your networks are listed mostly not. Even when they are they fail. Just spent 2 hours and have 1 of 3 on my new SSID. Of the 1 device that works the schedule just randomly changes itself (not set to random). Switch does not even obey that. NEVER AGAIN.
Straight out of the box it worked perfectly, any chance of working with Alexa?
Very convenient app
I have three devices version 1.16. One device records power usage on the daily bar chart intermitantly, but every day the power is used. Technical support Giselle offered no solution. No replies from Kane Moult requesting a replacement or fix.
I have two of the unit, the v23 Firmware can't connect to the internet. You have to upgrade the Firmware... It took many2 attempts within 3 days to get the 'right time' to upgrade the firmware to v28. Then it connects to the internet reliably. Btw the last few weeks they released v29 Firmware.
Cannot connect in any mode. Wasted hours trying in various plugs. Witeless or SP no go. Fix for me and I will give better rating. Meantime have wasted my money.

Shows potential It would be good if it exported the data to a csv file like it's parent app efergy engage does Maybe you can and I just can't work it out Would be even better if it also interfaced through a web page as well the same as it's parent but without being able export the data it's just another expensive toy Hopefully they will update this app so the data can be made use of then it will be very useful Pity the data can't be picked up in the efergy engage app I have both a efergy engage with a hub and the ego but the ego won't talk to the efergy hub
Awesome app would love a countdown feature on the timers so we know how long we have left before shut off...and maybe a feature for timers to start once power starts running... but other than that 5 stars, reliable, user friendly
My 2 units of Ego went kaput one after another just after one year. Disappointing!
It's great for controlling the sockets but I found that the socket timers won't work unless the app is open. So if I fall asleep and don't leave the app open (in the background) my timers don't work.
Works really well, no problems connecting to the device. Currently controlling a coffee machine, buying a second one for an electric blanket. Edit: There is a problem with the timers though, they work fine unless you try to set up two different ones on the same device (eg, weekday vs weekend), then it will just assign different times to each day....would love to see this fixed but sadly have seen this as a problem for others since late 2015 so I don't hold out much hope. Can't be that hard to fix can it?
A bit basic on the controls but works flawlessly
Has me looking to buy a few more!!!

Downloaded to my Nexus 4 but will not connect. Password checked, modem within same room as ego. Can anyone tell me how to get it to work?
Works ok when manually doing it but the timer function doesn't work well. The days I set constantly change to other days. No idea why they don't stick to what I set so please fix.
Not my internet connection, the app just won't work. Can technical support please offer solutions to fix?
The ego does what it promises on my Galaxy S3. It does not work on my Nexus 9, I hope it will do soon. It's now April 2015 - still not working on the nexus 9, I'm getting less impressed.
This is a great product. It works very well and I prefer it over the Belkin as it tells me power drawn. I use it on a battery charger so I know remotely when the batteries are charged by the current drawn.
Got my first Ego today , then discovered that the app won't even start on the Nexus 9. Pretty disappointing that it doesn't even work on Google's Android reference hardware. Looks like I should have got the Belkin Wemo. Any idea when this will be fixed?
I really loved this product! I already installed 4 egos in my house and is so easy to control your appliances
App refuses to work on my nexus 7, sounds like a common problem that's been about for months with no fix in sight.
Much better than the 27mhz system I was using. But I wouldnt except anything less from this company.
Used to have a Belkin power switch, but it kept disappearing off the network and had flakey stability. The Ego has been perfect for me since day one. Love that there was no Ad Hoc connection required to get it working.
Works great after update. I had a number of problems when using v1.0 app and firmware 2.4 including schedule off by one day, inaccurate reporting and intermittent connectivity loss (for days at a time). Now using v1.1.4 app and v2.8 firmware and everything is fine.
Does what it says. Would be good to be able to download daily data to pc for reviewing.
Just does what it says on the tin. Love it
Does what it says.
Easy to use and navigate...great product I can now control all my appliances from anywhere
Used it for a few days and it has been great to see how easy is to manage my home appliances from anywhere!
