EE Tap Wallet - Cash on Tap for Android
Using this on an S5 on EE, I topped this up and got an extra £10 from EE when the offer was on. It was great at first, worked a treat. Now It just won't work at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it but still no joy. I've tried to use it in 5 different places today and no joy at all. Fix the problems and it will be great. I don't need to learn how to use it as another reviewer stated, I know what I'm doing, it just doesn't work.
I've been waiting for a UK app to offer this service for 2 years. Installed and tested and it works Only glitch is I cannot add card details through the manage payments screen as I cannot cursor into the 'card name' box, I had to add my card through add money. Other than that, love it.
Not available for the S6. I first tried to use this app 2 years ago on my old S4, despite several support tickets and several months it never once worked. I was somewhat hopeful that my new S6 and (another) new NFC sim might work. But no.
The CashOnTap service will not add to this app and gives me the message that my SIM is not compatible. I have checked with EE and confirmed that the SIM _is_ compatible and that all bars are lifted on my account and I have a suitable phone (Samsung Galaxy S5), so this must be an app issue. In short, it doesn't work (for me).
Changed my rating because it hasnt worked in whsmith but two days ago I used it in post office with my Samsung Galaxy S5 and it worked quickly and very amazing. Lol everyone was suprised. You used ur phone to pay
There is no link to help files. I can't see how I can repatriate my meagre remaining funds. I would strongly suggest to others that they don't install this app. Instead wait until Google Pay comes out later this month.
It's clearly an outdated and unused app that ee have clearly forgotten to delete from their back catalogue. Don't waste your time on this like I did. I left it all day on mobile data expecting the app to be set up within the 2 hours promised. Absolutely nothing happens so dont waste your day.
I OFFICIALLY CONTAIN THE MOST AMOUNT OF SWAG IN ALL OF LONDON THANKS TO THIS APP. I walk into a shop and swipe my phone on card ready and bam!
It seems the call centre staff don't! If this works for you first time and keeps on working then great. However, I suspect that if you encounter problems you cant fathom out yourself, there wont be a solution forthcoming from EE. Hopefully google wallet will cross the pond soon.
Terrible app! DOES NOT WORK. made one payment on it now crashed. Have £20 stuck on it too which is now lost in cyber space/banks! Would of expected better from EE. even the interface is amateurish! Like a 12 year old developed it! Crap. Crap. Crap.
Has not worked for months. Every time I contact EE to get some support I am fobbed off saying someone from cash on tap will call me. This never happens. I have funds on system that I cannot access. I feel robbed. Don't waste your time and money on this service
Doesn't work properly on the underground. You need to tap at least twice and even sometimes reset the app to get out and this is annoying when you're in a queue on rush times. But works well in other shops with contactless card machines.
Loaded easy. Put money in no problem. I cannot find anywhere to spend my money.. Wetherspoons.. Maccy D's.. Subway..Aldi.. and others.. none of the terminals work. To cap it all when I closed the account.. they send you the money back VIA CHEQUE!!! 30 DAYS WAIT!!!
You don't need an EE supplied phone. My S4 was bought SIM free from Car Phone Warehouse. You do need an EE NFC Sim so you need to swap the Sim in an EE store. Providing the phone is listed as compatible it works. The only way to get cash off it is to spend it - EE customer service have no instructions on how to refund.
Was very sceptic with trying this app after so many bad reviews, but you won't know if you don't try. I went to Iceland today and payed for my shopping with no problems whatsoever. I have a Galaxy S5 (NOT FROM EE)
"You need to disconnect from wifi". Disconnected. "Sorry you have no network signal. Please use wifi". I get into a better area with gprs. "Sorry you cannot use this service with your sim card. Please contact your network provider to obtain a new sim card". Uninstall. EE is my provider and they cant tell that from scanning my sim? Also, using an EE app is a bit of a giveaway. Idiots.
Dreadful. 'Server has a hiccup' failure message every time I try to change my address so I'm unable to load money. How about you fix the server then ? Or better still, fix the app.
Creates two apps, Tap Wallet and Cash on Tap, both of which are about to be uninstalled. I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled. I've viewed the video, followed the instructions and added my card details numerous times (with good data connection) and each time it fails, informing me I may not have enough funds available. These apps obviously have issues and judging by the feedback are failing to deliver. What a waste of time!
Used to work absolutely fine (hadn't used for 2 weeks) but for some reason will not work at all now!!! Can't get beyond first screen. Deleting and going to find an alternative that actually works! Shame really
Was using this a lot on my Galaxy Note 4 but now I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ it's not apparently compatible, even though EE told me it was and sent me a new NFC enabled SIM card! I hope this gets sorted soon as I have money tied up in my account.
Can't get the app to work with Galaxy S5 despite the EE app recommending I download it and that it would work with my phone. When I try to set it up and turn off the wifi it then comes up with a connection error and I can go no further despite my 4GEE connection working fine.
Stopped working. Weeks of ACTIVELY SEARCHING still didn't tell me it had been shut down. Now I've £16 on the account, no idea how to get it back. An email might have been nice!!!
Was really happy with this app, but since upgrading to marshmallow, the app won't open. When it does manage to load, it immediately crashes saying the app has had a hiccup. Please update!
No support for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ Plus even though I am able to download the app...Please update the app to work with my new handset as the original Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is currently supported and not the latest + Plus version...
Works fine with latest Lollipop update. Need to hold my phone about 1cm over the reader screen to work. Seems to work better with the screen off, rather than having the app open. I bought my phone direct from Sony UK store, and upgraded from 3G T-mobile to 4GEE monthly contract with the new NFC enabled nano Sim. App could do with usability tweaks.
What a joke. One of the latest devices and they haven't updated the app to work with the s6. Then announces its cancelling the service completely. Why cancel a service that works and everyone else is introducing. Talk about going backwards. Wouldn't have minded but had it for 2 years on my s4 and used it alot. Upgrades to the premium phones are supposed to add features not take them away.Very poor EE
Checked and confirmed compatability before downloading. Problem with app so rang 150 as requested . Got to speak to advisor within one minute and she was keen to help. Correctly placed on hold whilst referred as no error message code. Call disconnected after five minutes on hold and no call back in the last hour so can only presume that there is no solution or they don't know what the issue is. Will remove and ignore future invitations to download.
I have had my Galaxy S5 phone since July with the correct NFC sim card yet, this app won't work on my phone. I called EE thosands of times, went thru a series of tests ie, I was told to reinstall the app after a couple of days whilst they reset my phone but they couldn't sort it out. All they tell me is they are working on it. I also spoke to the guys in charge of the app but they also couldn't sort it out. It's been 5 months and still this app isn't working. In fact I've given up. Piece of crap this app.
Tried to install about 6 times keeps telling me I need a new simply card ring 150 they have not helped as sim is correct. Help
After working great previously. It seems it's dying a slow painfull death! Doesn't work any longer. Seems as phones improve, this app does the opposite.
Using it on Sony Xperia Z1 Android5.1.1 If your phone is not compatible or you do not have an EE SIM don't blame the app. It's not a simple software update to implement this as there are security requirements.
Recently purchased a galaxy S6 and this app says I need to contact ee for a compatible sim card? Errrrrrrm... just got the new phone and new Micro sim. Please update!!!
Tried to use it, told me to update my sim to NFC sim, so i did and still does not work, it says wrong sim but it is not. Error code 3a. Called ee to sort it like it tells you to. ee have no idea whats going on passing me round and round the same 3 departments with no solution. Why release a service without training your staff first. Stupidity comes to mind.
I installed this app on my S5 a few months ago and made a few purchases (My first one was hilarious and had the queue in the station coffee shop in stitches as I told the "mature" lady barrista that this was my first time to which she said, "That's alright, dear, I've done this quite a few times before. Just touch it gently"!!) However, soon after that, it stopped working and has not worked since, despite various attempts by the EE banking people to help so I am closing the account and getting my account balance returned. I hope they get it right sometime as I really wanted it to work.
Ive been using EE's contactless payment for a few weeks now and I've had no problems whatsoever actually using it within the store. The app itself however is extremely buggy and there have been many of times where I've tried to open the app to add money to my wallet and its forced itself to close as it was unresponsive (I'm using the S6 edge). I also find it silly that you have to add money to your wallet and the minimum amount is £20 which is too high.
The App has not worked for over a month & the service from the cash on tap team as been is appalling. They have advised changing the sim & the problem is still there. They never follow up to see if the problem has been corrected. I have requested a refund due to the very poor service and the incompetence of their staff.
Warning if you want your money off the wallet there is currently a £5 charge to close your account if after 14 days. I have used it twice successfully so far. The first time I did not think it was going to work and was about to pay with cash but it kicked in just in time the second time it worked fine. Third time used in m&s which failed due to registering multiple cards. This has to work every time else what is the point.
Doesn't work with phones not purchased at EE, even with network supplied updates. Poorly integrated considering any new Android system can support wallet applications. Try harder EE.
Since I upgraded from a Galaxy S3 LTE earlier this year nothing works.Customer service hasn't resolved it either.Waste of time.

Please use HCE SE instead of the SIM SE. It is much faster and more portable. Please make the setup process faster and easier - look at Google Wallet in the USA. Please allow me to use my bank debit and credit cards, choosing for each transaction, rather than a prepaid card that must be topped up. Please support all phones with NFC rather than a select few. Please support new phones at launch not months later (galaxy s6 for eg). Please don't log me out of the app when it isn't in the foreground-delay a bit.
