About Edyn

Edyn is a smart garden system that monitors and tracks environmental conditions, helping you make your plants thrive. Inserted in the soil, the Edyn Garden Sensor gathers and analyzes data about changing weather and soil conditions. The Edyn App displays this data as a real-time snapshot of your garden, and pushes alerts and suggestions to maximize plant health.

The sensor readings are pretty good. The only problem I have is the lack of plant selection, so far none of my plants are in the database, so guess which one is close to its requirements. Would also be nice to be able to search by light/nutrition/water not just the plant name.

i live in UAE sunny, dry and almost no rain over the year i needed a solution for my new garden to controls watering where i don't have power. this is a perfect solution, yet i still don't know how to change the temperature to Celsius but this is a minor issue. 5 starts

I don't understand why you guys don't just build in the Celsius/F convertion choice in the app, which is a simple convertion which all the device nowadays can handle for sure. With all the complains about it and you still rely on if you can get the location info or not?!

N70%

No Celsius. Support didn't reply on mail . Request 4797

No Celsius setting :(

Ok I like the sensor. I believe it works well in an indoor grow environment. What is frustrating and I cannot get an answer from Edyn about, is the android app. I have two seedlings that are growing nicely but I cannot change the 'sprouting soon' in the app. I have asked for advice but so far received none. Really want to see live data as well if possible. Update. I love this and the Edyn project. The sensor is accurate for me. I grow mainly pots and this is a great help. Just need to expand and improve the app. Give users more access to data etc. Live monitoring would be great. Ability to refresh etc. But overall it's all good for the geeky gardener.

You seem to have a pretty solid base now you need to fix some long term annoyances : A menu to edit set up configuration items and small variety of plants in the database. Also apparently a 30 year old orange tree is sprouting soon? Also it would be nice to have landscape view available for my tablet. I would not recommend anyone buy this device

After almost 18 months is is still not possible to rename a sensor (in the UK). My experience has been that pairing a sensor is a frustrating process - after 5-10 similar attempts it will randomly work. As a result of these issues the issues I've faced with the product and app I now longer use it.

[edit]: Celsius is now available!! Like units for the rest of the world, better graphing and exporting... The issues with the graphing is that often the difference in the values are not distinguishable in the graph, so a change in the axis values would be helpful. Also there is a lot of real estate on my phone that could be used for greater vertical dimensions.

Just updated and still missing a pretty basic and fundamental feature. C'mon guys! In response to the developer: There is no pencil icon. What are you talking about? Could you show a screenshot?

Celsius and local timezone now supported.

Devices work as advertised but the app has not matured fast enough. Reminders, notifications and plant intelligence should have been "out the door" capability.

Y70%
by Y####:

Features improve, still wish garden plants had more options, like planting starter plant vs seeds. Also, for the water valve, there should be a mode to turn it on or off without messing with the schedule

U70%
by U####:

Finally, Celsius comes with the latest update. Too bad I still see Fahrenheit and no way to change it :(

D70%
by D####:

The latest update cleared all the existing measurements. The sensor is not accurate, it says the ground is dry after it has been raining for three days straight. The temperature reading is not even accurate.

T70%
by T####:

Guess I'll return this back to the store. I water my plants everyday and the sensor read 3% of water. I believe this sensor is faulty

U70%
by U####:

As long as they keep updating ill keep showing people the product

M70%
by M####:

New update (0.0.58) fails to load sensor data.

W70%
by W####:

No problem with connection process once I followed the instructions and turned up my screen brightness. ...nice feeling product, feels robust, only criticism of the app is "why can't I display the temperature in Celsius?"

N70%
by N####:

I cannot get past the step where I enter a WiFi password. No matter what I enter into the password box I get a dialog telling me to enter a password. Poor form.

N70%
by N####:

Even though the GUI was OK on Android it worked. Can't say the latest one works fully now. I can access the app but every time I want to add a sensor it crashes. So now I can't add the sensor I have...hopefully things get fixed.

N70%
by N####:

In a single month, the app consumed 350 MB of *background* days. That's more than any other app including my browser!

N70%
by N####:

When adding a plant you need to allow a start date in the past to catch up with existing plants already growing. Seeds and sprouting soon is inadequate.

A70%
by A####:

Latest version has substantial stability improvements along with added features including multi-sensor support and plant tracking.

N70%
by N####:

Had to uninstall and reinstall to get the plant database working. No way to remove plants once you add them. And now it goes from 19% moisture to 0% and back again. But the graph never moves from 0.

D70%
by D####:

Updates have come to provide more functionality. However, I can not add or search plants in the app. I can enter "tomatoes", but nothing populates and there is no search/go button available. Just a text box that does nothing but let you type.

It crashes alot doesnt update and the plant database sucks, plant database isnt working. Ive redownloaded twice already

Still working out the kinks and adding functions. Looks like it's headed in the right direction though.

I had to uninstall and reinstall app to get plant database working. A bit annoying but its working now.

So far a joy. No crashes, setup just worked. Couldn't find regular broccoli in the database though :)

Steady readings to the device but it just crashes she trying to add a plant.

N70%

The latest update crashes when I try to add a plant. Also, when will we be able to delete a plant?

N70%

Great idea, poor execution. I have had the device for a month now and nothing works. Instructions are little help. Trying to contact them for help is futile. Light blinks and won't stop. Help please!

Sounds like everyone is aware, but the Android version is lacking the key feature relative to the iPhone version, adding plants to your garden. I'm sure it will be fixed soon, but until then I'll be using the app on my work iPhone!

N70%
by N####:

Looking forward to improvement. Pretty good so far but looks like moisture doesn't work... It's stays at about 34% whether it rains for 2 hours or we have 2 hot days... Mostly bought the sensor for this purpose but I can't trust it right now

N70%
by N####:

Consistently reads low moisture. Have been purposely over watering, to the point the soil is like soup. Readings never go above 4% moisture. Sensor says my soil is depleted, but it is brand new potting mixture. Once I receive the watering valve I do not trust it enough to install. If sensor is constantly reading dry, then it will water the entire day.
