Bicycle Tire Pressure Calc for Android
Got this app by redeeming a voucher so at least it didn't cost me anything. just as well as it doesn't really seem to work. The results obtained are wildly different to those obtained by using the Excel spreadsheet this app is supposedly based upon. Even when entering actual wheel loadings taken from static load readings using a scales the results are bizarre. Rear wheel results are hugely high and front wheel results very low. Using the 60/40 rear/front weight differential pre-sets the results just don't add up either, as the examples shown above demonstrate! Back to using common sense then! As a postscript to this review I'd like to say that I contacted the publisher about it's shortcomings and received an answer that suggested a degree of in-built inaccuracy was acceptable to them as it only affected results at the outer edges, so-to-speak, of the results 'envelope'. I'm a 145lb rider on an endurance-type road bike with medium-width tyres so should hardly be at any extremes as far as tables or calculations are concerned! In the hope that future updates and de-bugs of this app may actually make this app useful I'll hang on to it. Watch this space.
Very easy to use and configurable, love it!
Seems like a great app. Minus one star since the Android Menu isn't working (at least not on my OnePlus Two) and so I cannot switch to metric units.
by using custom the calcs run within one psi f/r of Heine or the Bike Tinker spreadsheet.
Looking for Hybrid and MTB Would be nice. For now I'm trying to figure out which of the existing ones are close enough that I could use them instead. They based on the front to rear weight ratio by any chance?
Works great, no guess work, where is the mtb selection?
It would be nice to see mountain bike geometries too.
Used this all the time on my droid3, fails to update on my droid DNA (HTC butterfly). Did have to tweak the weight distribution a bit for some touring bikes, but a noticeable difference in ride quality was seen.
I like this app. It makes a quick job of suggesting the correct tire pressure for your bicycle. Make your tires last longer and your bike ride nicer. Since most people run too much air in their tires, this should be on your phone.
Nice app. But the pressures of do seem to be run on the extremes. The rear pressure is huge on my road bike and the front almost running flat on my wife's mtb. I'm hoping for a few more common bike configurations in upcoming versions. I'm curious why there's a custom option but haven't found a way to configure it. (update) Can't upgrade to V1.3 as I get the -24 error mentioned by another. Looked at the potential fix and seemed too complicated and not well explained to bother with an upgrade. If you're an XDA developer, no big deal I guess.
Great App! 2 things I wish it had: The specific geometry listed for each bike type and a way to enter custom geometry. Other than that this is quite awesome!
Tire pressures are a tricky thing, but great things can happen when you get the perfect level of cush and speed. This app will help you get a good baseline or starting point to make fine adjustments from. There are going to be some things it can not model like variations in tire construction or accuracy of weight and loading, but it will get you in the ballpark for sure. After that, the fine tuning is done by trial and error. A good number of us have been riding our tires at too high a pressure for most of our lives, this app will help you find the path of comfort and speed.
Based on good research. Nice.
Excellent, good range and serves me well. A couple more profiles I.e. hybrid, etc would be helpful but overall very nice.

No bike in my household fits any of the generic categories, so I am very happy to be able to work with the "custom." I LOVE not overinflating my tires, and having a far better chance of staying upright on rain-slick roads. I'm grateful for far less rattling of teeth. Everyone I've tried to market this to is an iPhone user, so I hope you write a version for them, too.
