DrinkMate for Android
Absolute rubbish! Do not buy this product. I keep blowing .o2-3 while being 100% sober, I've even try it at different places with different temp, humidity etc and the result are the same. After I've had way more than a few drinks I still blew .03. Waste of money. Again DO NOT BUY THIS!
Bougt 4 of them. I did a review video of the Android version, and after two hours of use it broke. I tried it on other phones but it still didn't work. It took almost two months to be delivered to Romania, and returning it would be a pain in the ass. P.s. a seccond one broke (iOS) with the same simptoms. De app doesn't recognize the device anymore, and they didn't email me back when I reported the problem.
Does not read bac over .035 when I'm reality it is way above that. Poor sensitivity. Calibration is way off the mark.
When creating a profile, the calendar feature is awful. Have to scroll month by month till you get back to your do. Ridiculous even for a 21 year old. After creating profile, found that app doesn't see my device (using an adapter with my USB C). Need to check on getting a refund.
The accuracy is *terrible*! It got 4/5 tries badly wrong, after 0% alcohol. Any advice on how to improve this? If I can trust the device at zero, how can I trust it after a few...? Edit: I will try a few field tests. One tip may be to take a deep breath to improve device sampling. I shall modify my review if I can get it to work...
Now I have USB c on my phone it just become useless is there anyway to get it to work ? I tried an adapter but no luck.
Convenient device with smooth and easy to use app. The newest update with Happy Hour Hunter integration just adds more value to my product. Love it!!!
Happy Hour Hunter is a cool new feature worth checking out!
I felt cheated having bought the expensive hardware to be able to use this. Guide me what do I do now
I am completely waisted and I just blew a 0.00. Dont really know what to say on that.
Garbage it doesnt work dont waste your $5
The first 2-3 times everything worked fine and I loved it. After that, the app kept saying it needs more time but regardless how long I waited or how much I shook like instructed, it always said Drinkmate drank too much and would not provide a reading. I've tried uninstalling the app, removing the device from my phone and waiting more time than instructed. Nothing has helped.
originally purchased this device for my galaxy s5 but it stopped working shortly after which was replaced. since then i upgraded to a gamaxy s7 and the drink mate device is agan stuck in an endless loop of needing more time. would prefer refund over a new device because they just continue to fail.
Reads 0% all the time. Update: Drinkmate sent me 2 replacement devices, both had the same issue.
Works great..
Works for a bit, then sometimes it stays saturated for a very long time. Tonight it keeps giving a 0.0 which I'm 100% certain is wrong. Sporadic operability.
App crashes without location permission, at "4.0" of warmup loop. You don't need my coordinates to measure BAC. Please support the option to disable location.
this app just keeps saying saturated and when you wait the 2 minutes for it to get unsaturated and blow it says 'drinkmate has drunk too much' and it can't tell you how much your bac is.
Working again uninstalling/reinstalling after android update fixed it
I just tested myself. I blew a 0.09%. Then I blew a 0.00%. Then the app cycled through 3 times; it said warming up, then it would say that the device was saturated. I went through this 3 times. Then I blew a 0.06%. This I believe to be the accurate reading.
Have a galaxy s5. Device worked well but has stopped working. Now only stuck on continuous saturated loop and even when i skip the timer it doesnt recognize anyone blowing into it at all. Pls fix or refund cost of device. *Update*. recieved a replacement and new device has started having same issue again... no confidence in reliability of device
It worked The First couple of times I used it but now it sucks and it just says it's saturated then heating up.
Honestly I don't think it works at all. Got home from the bar and it said I was at 0.05 then I drink like 5 more drinks and it said .07.. then it would go up and down.
Loops and says it needs time to clear previous user data, never used. Uninstalled and reinstalled with no improvement.
Every time I blow it gets a different result. It's a shame it doesn't work with USB-C (via an adapter) so I can't use it on my new phone - have to keep my old phone around to use it!
When I first got Drinkmate I loved it. It was great and definitely fun at parties. My father is a retired State Trooper and thinks it's the greatest thing ever. But now whenever I use it it warms up, gets to the 3 or 4 second mark and then says it's "Saturated". When it clears it warms up and gets to the 3 or 4 second mark and says it's "Saturated" again. Doesn't matter how long I try to let it clear, it's like it's stuck on an infinite loop. Any advice on how to fix this?
The idea is amazing but unfortunately it fails. I had high hopes for this too. Blowing a 0.04 when I'm clearly stumbling around, made it obvious. And the first time I pull it out at a party to show it off, is when it stops working. (no pun intended) Very disappointed.
Worked well to begin with then, like others have reported, gets stuck in a permanent " saturated device" cycle. I discovered tapping it lightly on a hard surface cleared the error and worked perfectly. I'm guessing dust, lint, other contaminants are settling on the sensor when in your pocket. Maybe a completely enclosed storage sleeve would fix the problem?
I'm so disappointed in this product. After one drink I had three reads in a 5 minute period that read 0.08, 0.1, and then 0.07. There is no accuracy to this product at all. It's supposed to do just one thing...and it simply doesn't do it
Didn't expect super precise measurement but I did expect higher than what comes up. It's sporadic & the software needs tweaking. Sometimes it reads on first try. Other times it won't read at all even after sensor reset. We like using it in general but I think it comes to a better light when amongst friends where it can be a bit of a game. One night I had one drink containing 4 Oz of whiskey & a whole can of ginger ale. Finished my drink in 2 hours & the highest level I could reach was .026.
Not accurate by a long shot. I was drinking all night and stayed at .070. Don't know if there is a special calibration, but if not I would consider the dongle a novelty and nothing more.
I'm an original kickstarter backer, the features are great but i don't think it is acurate, it would stay at 0.03 to 0.05 when i already had considerable amount of alcohol , I feel like it's supposed to be double of that because i knew for a fact that I was pretty drunk
I've had 12 beers and I'm in no shape to drive and it says .04 bac. This device is worthless, do not buy it!
Completely usless junk. Im off my head and it reads 0.05 so i am right go drive ?? I want a refund!!! I want my money back shaun masavage......
This is incredible.
Works great..
I love the idea, but the execution is horrible, it does not read the bad accurately, even after the actual bac is checked against a more reliable bac device, also the device doesn't clear( become unsaturated) even after multiple attempts have been made by separating oneself more than 3 yards ( approximately 1 meter) apart from the device. Also app crashed every time I use it.
Was great at first, but now ever single time I plug it in it says the device is saturated, and I have to wait for it to clear. When the timer is done, it immediately says it's still saturated. This happens every time, even when I haven't used it for a week. This is a problem, it is a product that I paid for, and doesn't work at all. Please fix this bug, or send me a new one.
Works for a bit, then sometimes it stays saturated for a very long time. Tonight it keeps giving a 0.0 which I'm 100% certain is wrong. Sporadic operability.

Bought the usb c to micro b usb adapter DrinkMate recommended, has never been able to connect. Phone thinks it is a keyboard. This is a waste of money. Just go buy a keychain breathalyzer. Used to work (though with bugs) on a phone with a micro usb b port
