What are users saying about Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016

Q70%
by Q####:

Filters don't work, constantly Asks for permission, but won't allow it to give permission. Developer should be ashamed to release such a buggy app for such a major festival.

Q70%
by Q####:

Sane issue as someone else. It will not accept my visa debit card. Details are correct. Error message every time I try. Basically useless till this is fixed. Also last year's worked and was a bit more function. It's a definite downgrade.

Q70%
by Q####:

Especially love the Nearby Now feature, and planning and favoriting is super easy. Haven't had any problems with it

Q70%
by Q####:

Can't buy tickets for more than one show at a time. Needs a connection: last year's version let us search while without signal e.g. while underground. Seems to have fewer features. Intermittently useful and regularly irritating.

Q70%
by Q####:

Please add the feature to sort shows by time, or have a list of upcoming shows which can be filtered. Hard to organise stuff without seeing the times easily!!

M70%
by M####:

Can't find the show I want by name or venue . Don't even download, it will just make you hate the fringe

Q70%
by Q####:

... But crashes a lot. Seems far less reliable than last year.

Q70%

Easy to navigate. Super helpful

Every time I resume this app without having previously fully closed it, first the search stops working, and then it *always* crashes when going back to the home screen. After restarting it works fine with many useful features, so I would give it 5* if it wasn't for the ridiculously frequent crashes. I fear that there will be no update to fix this until next year, but I hope to be proved wrong.

Can't buy tickets for multiple shows so buy online if you want to save on admin fees. Maps don't offer directions / current location. That said the app is easy to track shows you want to see and have bought tickets for. Despite other complaints on here I find the search function fine and helpful.

F70%
by F####:

Crashes a lot. LGBT genre filter finds no shows even though there are plenty. Search terms are case sensitive, which is just stupid. No directions from venue location maps. A planning assistant would be great, I should be able to mark the shows I want to see, and then have the app suggest a schedule so that I can see them all with no clashes.

Q70%
by Q####:

You can't order shows by start time any longer, why would you remove that feature? Very frustrating to organise your day.

Q70%
by Q####:

Previous years versions has worked fine but this one just crashes all the time.

T70%
by T####:

Can't find any shows to go to because App is awful

Q70%
by Q####:

It's good... You should get it

U70%
by U####:

Doesn't give directions. Crashes when restarting. Search is very picky (leave a space at the end or use two words when it should be one, no result). Can't buy for multiple shows at once. Devs don't seem to use their own app.

Q70%
by Q####:

This is very good but missing the ability to share location of an event to an external app such as Google Maps to use for directions.

Q70%
by Q####:

Showing zero shows for today when searched. Shame, was great previous years.

O70%
by O####:

Every year this app is useless! EVERY YEAR!

Q70%
by Q####:

Website is much better (and more responsive!)

Q70%
by Q####:

Great way to plan the festival

B70%
by B####:

A refresh option in the My Fringe page would make this 5*

D70%
by D####:

It's a shame that everything disappears from your planner at the end of the day. You should at least have a section where you can view everything you've watched. I saw nearly 25 shows in 4/5 days. It would have been great to look back to remember everything I've seen. It would also be useful to be able to rate the shows so one knows what's worth avoiding/making time for. The app was also incredibly buggy. The search function was OK, the filters worked well but it was REALLY annoying having to reset them.

E70%
by E####:

Wow. At last the app connects to the web site, favourites are visible from both. And you can add shows to the planner without buying through the Fringe box office. Great, but how many years has it taken to add features like these?

Q70%
by Q####:

Great app, works well on my Nexus. I might finally find some good shows this year

Q70%
by Q####:

Makes planning your trip so much easier

Q70%
by Q####:

Always love the Fringe app but feeling perplexed this year that I have to keep entering the date selection range constantly. App crashes on ticket purchase, but purchase does process. Also looking at order history you don't see which show it was for. Hoping for updates. Thanks

L70%
by L####:

The most used app I had while in Edinburgh. Keeps a list of the shows you booked, a separate list of your favourites and an extremely useful 'What's on now' which list shows which are on near where you are. Made our visit all the better

Q70%
by Q####:

Love it - fast, stable - year on year improvements. Love ordering whilst having lunch then picking up just by swiping your credit card!

H70%
by H####:

Slow. Poor search. Seems to require live internet connection for any function. Has venue locations but not integrated to maps.

K70%
by K####:

This is the 2016 app. There doesn't appear to be a 2017 version. It lists events in the 2017 festival, but using the 2016 calendar! It doesn't recognise bookings I've made, even though I'm logged in. Doesn't inspire confidence.

D70%
by D####:

Such a good app... used it loads this year

Q70%
by Q####:

You miss, every year. Repeated 'Fringe 2016 has closed' crashes, searches that can only be done once - if you try to search again, nothing is returned, so you have to go back to the previous page first. Which possibly involves a crash and often downloads unnecessary data. No way to say 'just search the titles' etc etc

Q70%
by Q####:

Feels like it's been de-featured from last year's? Please stop asking me for my location, please? I don't want to give it and don't need it, but do you think you can turn off the CONSTANT demand for it? It should be prepared for multiple event purchases but every time I booked a new event the basket was emptied. Why do I need to buy each event tickets in separate transaction? The my Fringe section was the most useful part of the app, the rest I'd rather use the Web for as you can filter dates, etc better

Y70%
by Y####:

Adding same card I used last year's app, this version rejects it with "Review card number and try again". The card details are correct and valid, has plenty funds in the account. The App is WRONG!! I've wasted too much time trying to get this to work.

M70%
by M####:

A bit unstable. Is annoying that it keeps asking for my location, but I can't enter a location to search near. Sometimes you want to plan for after your next show, not from where you are now.

Q70%
by Q####:

Does absolutely everything I need it to. The Half Price Ticket Hut and Planner both update quickly. The search feature could not work better.
