Ecotricity for Android
Very basic - no different to website account. No option to update customer information, you can download your latest bill and input metre readings and that is pretty much it.
Logs you out after a few days, which is very annoying for an app that only gets used once every few months. No need for high security and the password reset email would go to my unlocked email anyway.
Limited and disappointing, I expected much better from a company like ecotricity, terrible sign-in which even blocks chrome password store.
Forgot my login details after a few weeks. That makes an app you only need once every few weeks to do a meter reading rather pointless. Strange because only two days ago it did manage to send me a reading reminder notification.
I can't seem to view my gas bill and can't even download my Electricity bill onto my phone. Customers need to submit meter readings online as well as the app. Some people may not have a smart phone.
Useful app for checking account and meter readings. 17270 days since first notification is a bug (1st Jan 1970). Usage graphs would be nice.
Pointless. Doesn't save login info so have to open laptop to retrieve it. By that time may as well have used the laptop... Waste of memory space
Flashlight feature in meter reading activity doesn't work on a Pixel running 7.1.2.
How on earth do you reset your password on it. Email says press continue but there is nothing on the app that resembles this.
Works very well for me and has made submission of readings much easier.

Crashes constantly
This app would be useful if it worked! But it never tells me to read my meter and often hangs (stops dead & I can't click anything). I emailed Ecotricity and was assured the latest version was bug-free bit it's just the same. Uninstalling now!
As said before app does not work disappointing from an electricity company that claims to be different from the others. Spend some money and get some proper developers to look at your app. Looks like you did and one year later it now works very well.
Unfortunately a dreadful app. Doesn't show usage graphs or bills, constantly becomes unresponsive and seems to have been cobbled together rather than designed. Really hope it will improve. As of right now, I see no benefit to this app.
I'm baffled as to why Ecotricity try to force us to use this app to submit meter readings when it so clearly doesn't work for a large number of users. A website is fine for submitting meter readings. Please stop redirecting us to this abysmal app.
This app should: store my log-in deets; remind me to take a reading; show me a consumption graph. All super simple features that would make this a more rewarding user experience.
Poor app. Only a conduit for meter reading and it freezes constantly. Throwaway software.
Just hangs on login. Just a wrapper for the website but done poorly.
The app works great for electricity and gas readings, but still lacks Microtricity Readings which is extremely annoying.
The app not letting me login and no one seems to be at the End of the customer service phoneline. Cost me £1.50 anytime I call. On a nutshell the app socks and thinking about switching provider after years with ecotricity without a problem until they introduced this bloody useless app
The initial problems seem to have been resolved so I'm happy to update my review. Everything now works as intended on pay as you go. It also remembers your account details when you log in to make a payment which is an improvement on the old app.
Now cannot top up my payg having never had a problem before. Just coming up with error 3875 when I try to log in
Great, I can now top up via the app. My login didn't seem to work until I changed my password and used my email instead of the customer number but once I got in it worked great!
App does not log me in instead I had to top up using payment line.
Wanted to fill up my car, not sign up for a new energy provider!
I'm a PAYG customer....app has no option to top up my meters...! This will be fun when I run out...phone calls to top up cost the earth...sick of struggling with all this I'm disabled and can't cope with all this fighting to top up ☹
Still wait for the ability to enter Microtricity readings (for solar panel production)
Easy to use and the torch is useful but I wish it would turn off automatically when I exit the app.
Brilliant simple app for a brilliant company that actually gives a damn. There's not many companies like Ecotricity.
Can enter meter readings... That's about it. How about some nice visualisations on energy consumption or gamifing energy conservation? Perhaps offer easy ways to help us recruit our friends to switch to green energy? Also, torch function is broken on Nexus 5x / Nougurt.
The thought of adding a flashlight button to get the meter reading is very sweet (that's where the star goes)...but if you can't pay your bill on the go, then why bother with the app in the first place? Ecotricity hasn't sorted out access to my meter with the council yet so I've been paying estimated bills since day one... waste of time..
V1.0.6 and the app still can only be terminated by killing it from the application manager. Very poor application. Seems to need network communication to do anything but ought to cache charging point locations to save data/time.
Not for business customers. Yet again business owners are ignored. Useless. Maybe you should spend some of the money from your huge increases next year on getting that sorted?
Ecotricity go on the record claiming "compromised [PHEV] vehicles" clog up their network, which should only be used by pure EVs. Their competitors, for example OVO are not only cheaper but don't demand petrol should be burned to save charging bays for pure EVs.
Fill in my details and it just hangs forever. Update: managed to fill in details and use app but now it has forgotten them again.
Rubbish. Says it is installed but no sign of it anywhere (incl under apps in system). What is the point? Think I'll be changing provider - overdue I suspect..
I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times without any success. Any updates?

I use economy 7 tariff so have two meter readings to submit, one off-peak and another on-peak. Previous meter readings are shown as off-peak first with on-peak underneath. However, when I submit a new meter reading these are the opposite way around with on-peak first and off-peak underneath. This should be quick and easy to correct and yet it has been an ongoing problem since I started using this app several years ago.
