The Economist Espresso

Excellent little app. Great for morning news. I reported an annoying feature and the Economist had it fixed within a couple days! Keep up the good work.

Quick update on a few topics. Some interesting but some clearly not.

Great bitesize news that doesn't make the front pages but is worth knowing, plus snippets of the usual headlines in case you've missed them. Well-made app and writing with the Economist's usual blend of deep knowledge and wry humour.

Requires access to body sensors? I find this creepy and intrusive. Why would a simple news app require the permissions this app asks for? I instantly deleted it. I'll get the same news from elsewhere thanks.

Best source for a daily heads up. Only downside is market info page seems not working often. 7/17 update. Changed my rating to 5 stars. They fixed the market info page months ago. Still my first read every day.

Nice crisp and concise news snippets, to the point talk. That's different from the others, just find sponsored content annoying. Don't know why it's there when I'm paying

Monday to Friday you get the Economist's five top news stories and a brief summary of a few more, followed by a page of key market data. On Saturday the stories are more arts and culture. Excellent free service for subscribers to the Economist.

Bite sized information à la Economist. Sometimes the bites are too small for the story, but always, they are enough to inform.

Wish they'd stop with the sponsored ad. You already pay for the ap so whys it there? Otherwise it gives a nice brief outlook on the news and it has a low amount of permissions for my phone which I like.

It's great to have an app whose goal is for you to spend as little time as possible on it. It's a refreshing difference from apps that are all about maximizing "engagement". Four stars and not five because of sponsorship from fossil fuel giant, BP.

I tried this as a Yahoo News Digest alternative and came away disappointed. There is far less content here (only 7ish stories per day, no stories on Sunday, no extra info or pictures, etc.), pop-up ads are present, and it costs $48 per year. I'll be left looking elsewhere for a News Digest alternative when my free trial ends.

I would like to see more immerging market focus i.e. at least 1 of the short articles dedicated to that. Over all a great avenue of condensed information. Thank you.

Great succinct summary of upcoming issues across the globe, together with key indicators and exchange rates. Perfect accompaniment to your morning coffee.

Good stuff, it is my sane source of news as opposed to Fox or Jones. Balanced news sourcing is good for perspective and knowing where the players are positioned.

I appreciate the real global news presented in this app. Well-written, succinct with links to more details on the topic if desired.

Good for what it does; very short (1-2 paragraphs) news blurbs with some but not enough analysis.

Good articles. Stable app. It would be the best if it would have the same option as the economists main app ( listening to the articles)

The Economist in general has one of the very best online presences on the internet. This app is no exception.
