Paraglider Dashboard
Powerful, easy to use app especially for (powered) paragliders which can even be operated while wearing gloves (see below for details).
Important note:
If the app crashes after you loaded an airspace file, please read at the very end of this description!
Paraglider Dashboard calculates wind speed and wind direction while in the air.
Display of wind triangle, tachometer, map with airspaces, variometer and more.
All important flight data is constantly shown in the info boxes.
Slide through the following Views:
* Windtriangle
* Tachometer
* Map with airspaces and track
* Speed vectors (basis of wind calculation)
* Overview with all views
Always visible:
* Infoboxes with all important flight data
* GPS based Variometer (optional)
Other features:
* Show past flights in a logbook
* Calculate wind triangle for different wind situations
* Set destination in map by simple long touch or select from a waypoint list
* Display of arrival time at destination taking current wind into account.
* Load airspaces in OpenAir format
* Save track as (unsigned) IGC-file
* Build-in help pages
* Simulation mode to replay IGC-files
* Metric and imperial units
* Altitude display in meter, feet or both alternating
Glove control:
With glove control switched on, you can control the app without using the touch screen (e.g. while wearing gloves).
A menu which is controlled by the proximity sensor allows this trick.
Just hovering the hand over the device lets the menu pop up and scroll through the available functions.
When releasing the hand again, the currently highlighted function is executed.
Why are the permissions needed:
* GPS Location: Now, that's obviously needed.
* Prevent from sleeping: Device should not switch off in midair.
* Internet access: Needed exclusively for Google Maps.
* USB storage: For saving IGC-files when closing app.

Crash after loading an airspace file:
Some file browsers are returning the name of the file with the prefix "content://" instead of "file://".
If that is the case (the file name is displayed after it was selected) please use a different file browser. If necessary you may install e.g. OI File Manager or Total Commander.
Don't close the app, as long as the chosen file starts with "content://". Otherwise the app will crash when started next time.
I will repair this of course, but it may take some time...

It really works properly. I compared readings with plenty of hardware altimeters during doing skydiving yesterday, and it was amazingly precise! But one little buy I found is that I can't enter into the settings menu, if I accidentally unchecked "Vario display on". So I had to clean the program data to return the Vario display

The app worked fine on S Galaxy S 3 but works badly on my new xiaomi mi4. Could access to settings menu be added to the software? Don't have a menu button like Samsung phones. Secondly app crashes everytime when in "filter for built in sensor"

Once I open the app it runs great. The only way I have been able to stop recording a flight. Even force quiting the app it still is sucking up my battery and recording a flight. The only thing that works is restarting my phone.

Edgar the developer is the best. It's amazing all the functionality the app has and he's constantly working to make it better. I've tried a couple of the other dashboard like apps and they fall short, struggle with displaying maps, adding way points, missing features, buggy etc. All the features this app has work as they are supposed to. Edgar gets back to you right away and talks to you if you have questions or suggestions with the app which is awesome. Keep up the good work!

It does not tell the right altitude. It doesn't use my nexus 5 in built barometer. So the vario is not reliable. App looks cool but I haven't used it while flying because of not having a reliable vario.

Beats xcsoar, much much better than the misleading name suggests. Would be good if it could use navfree as well as google maps, and for the less techie minded, included the airspace file pre loaded. So simple and easy to set up, my favourite Android app to date.

Pretty nice application with the glove control which is a really nice touch. Unfortunately the vario doesn't work with the barometer coz the dev doesn't have a phone with such a sensor. The recording and replay work very nicely as well.

Great app, a couple of small issues but nothing that can't get fixed, or could be due to my older device. Really great to see a good free app for a change! Keep up the great work!
