PCGen Character Sheet Lite allows you to import .xml files generated by PCGen to create dynamic character sheets for use on your Android device.
If you want a character sheet app for your device but don't want to enter all the information manually onto your device, PCGen can do all the hard work of creating your character for you, and then just use email or Dropbox to import it into the App and make your character sheet mobile.
When you want to level up, just update your character on PCGen, email/Dropbox it to yourself and re-import!

Things to note:
*Read the help screen on first load - it answers most questions!
*All code used to make the character sheets look familiar to PCGen users, is my own.
*CMB - the app detects whether your imported CMB Stat value is the same as your STR or DEX modifier, to determine which stat should affect it through Stat Linking (due to certain feats, whether you character size is Tiny etc...)
*Conditional Save and Combat modifiers don't appear to actually be exported in the .xml, which is why the boxes will be empty, the boxes are present however to balance out the look and feel of the character sheet, and in preparation in case the information is exported in the future (though an app update would be required to read it).
*Stat Linking does not affect damage done by bows, as the .xml does not identify Composite bows, if the name and description is custom and did not use the word "Composite" the app would have no way of knowing so this was omitted.
*There is no ammo tracking as the .xml does not provide enough information to efficiently do this.
*If you have you imported a problematic .xml file and the app crashes everytime it loads, use the app settings in android to clear data associated with the app.
*Use the csheet_fantasy_generic_export.xml template to create your .xml file, all .xml files need to have the word PCGEN somewhere in the file name (upper/lower/mixed case is fine), and the extension must remain .xml, the app will try to read the files from default Downloads directory of your device, which is where email applications such as GMail should save files to by default.

I really like the app. It has most Of the essentials that you need with only a few glitches or things missing. One feature request for v2 would be the ability to prepare spells for casting instead of access to every single onein the spellbook. I still highly recommend this for any pathfinder group! :)

Works just as described. Little bit of a pain to get it to export and import correctly though. I do wonder why there is a paid version? Reading descriptions (briefly) i couldn't find any differences.

If you can't import from downloads, try renaming the file to include 'pcgen'. This is a VERY important step that I didn't see written anywhere.

I think the app is really cool. I can't wait to see the pathfinder add on. I just have a few questions. I only just downloaded the lite app. Does the app automaticly add and subtract the racial ability score? Like elfs have +2 int. and -2 con. does that come out automaticly. Is all the equipment there? Will cloud printing and saving be an option? And will there be a gm app where the gm can view his players stats and rolls for later refrence and keep track of the exp. Earned and the most damaged delt?

Only allows importing from dropbox. Which is useless if you don't use dropbox. Would be greatly improved by allowing importing sheets stored on the tablet files as well

I have character file stored locally on SD card, yet I have to upload it to Dropbox and import it into the app from there... As I have no dropbox account and I'm not planning on getting one I did not get past that point

This is an interesting app, I love being able to take my PCGen sheets with me while still keeping their utility. It works fine on my Nexus 10, but my nexus 6 is listed as incompatible. I really can't see why that is though, I haven't really bothered to try and install the APK outside the play store, but it's unfortunate I can't have this on my primary device.

No condition calculation. Only imports from Dropbox. Handy character sheet based on the demo character. Not terribly useful otherwise. Certainly not superior to paper

Been looking for an app like this for a long time. Find it easier to work on my PC sheets on my laptop then my tablet. Having everything at my finger tips is a really helpful since I normally have that sitting beside me at the table. Only problem I have seen is that Feat/ Ability section goes to the help screen and not to the feats. Would purchase if that got fixed. Great work!!!

This is a great program. Any problems with it are related to the difficulty learning curve with PCGen. I liked this program so much that I upgraded to the pay version. I think this is the best app for taking a Pathfinder character during a gaming session. I've purchased other apps that costed more and this is the best of them all. Once I figured out PCGEN, which really was not that hard, this will be the end of my search.

I've used this for both playing and DMing, and I can happily say it works wonderfully for both. For a player: Easy and familiar layout, with all the information you need quickly to hand. Weapon rolls, spell tracking, stat modifying and skill checks are all really easy to use. Can also track your HP (lethal and non-lethal) which is incredibly handy. Saves me scribbling out all over a character sheet all the time! Makes looking up feats and abilities much easier than leafing through many sheets of paper to find the one thing you're looking for. For a DM: Having all my players' sheets open at once makes combat MUCH quicker, as I have all their AC's and saves readily to hand, as well as being able to roll certain skill checks for them etc. Overall this is the best character sheet reader app I've used on Android. While it won't create the character for you, I'd much rather do that on a PC than on an app anyway, so this is ideal! And, saves you paying for HeroLab. :)

Pros: -Easy to import .xml files (make sure to rename them) -Best touch navigation I've seen yet -Keep track of multiple characters -Crit notification and conformation rolls (Amazing!) Cons: -Missing easy condition modification (e.g. Haste, invisible, flanking, etc. Possible copy right issue) Hoping for compatibility with Hero Lab .xml files, we'll see. Still the best interactive character sheet I've seen for android as Hero Lab seems to refuse to release their app for android.

Does exactly what it says: read character sheets exported from PCGen on your PC. Works great!
