About WiFiFoFum - WiFi Scanner
WiFiFoFum scans for 802.11 Wi-Fi networks and displays information about each including: SSID, MAC, RSSI, channel, and security. WiFiFoFum also allows you to connect to networks you find and log the location using the GPS. KML logs can be emailed.
WiFiFoFum is a wardriving app to locate, display and map found WiFi networks. The Nearby feature relies on user contributions to operate. When you have contribute enabled information about the APs your device scans will be recorded and shared to other users of the Nearby function so that this service can continue to be provided in the future.
Note:
1. Use the exit menu to quit.
2. Requires SD card.

What's Changed
Several bug fixes and improvements to the underlying app, plus support for the latest versions of Lollipop and upcoming Marshmallow.
We're going to be doing more regular updates to WiFiFoFum moving forward so expect numerous incremental updates over the coming months. I'm a big fan of WiFiFoFum, but it was crashing on launch after I upgraded to Android 6. I couldn't find any help online, so I started tinkering. I was able to get the app to launch by toggling permission for Contacts, Location, Phone, and Storage (only worked with all four toggled) under Settings -> Apps -> WiFiFoFum -> Permissions. I hope that helps some of the other folks experiencing crashes immediately after launch.

Works good to map APs but beware...this used nearly 2GB of data in a couple hours when I left it in the background. I don't understand how since it only generated a 100KB KML log but it used up ALL my 2GB data plan (so I know it isn't just mis reporting in thd settings/usage screen). Otherwise it seems to be on a par with the Windows Mobile version.

Is it supposed to crash every time you run it? Because if it is, it works. If it's not supposed to crash, every time you run it, then it's not a good program anymore. Which sucks, because this use to be a really useful program.
