Place Saver allows you to save locations and places so you can get back to them later. You can save your current location, or enter an address or GPS coordinates. Place Saver provides capabilities beyond the simple star function provided by Google Maps, such as allowing you to name the locations you save, storing notes about them, and adding homescreen shortcuts to them. Once saved, you can open the locations in Google Maps, navigate to them, edit them, and share them with friends. You can later search through your saved locations and their notes!
You can enter addresses or GPS coordinates manually or you can share locations from Google Maps. Your approximate distance from each of your saved locations shows up right in the menu.
Saved locations can also be viewed on a map in-app via the Google Maps API. Locations can be clicked on and then navigated to etc.
You can also save shortcuts to saved places on your homescreen. Hold down on a homescreen, click shortcuts, click Place Saver and select your options. Shortcuts can open the saved place in Place Saver, Google Maps, Directions, or even open Navigation directly to the place!

This is a good app and I have been using It for long time . Now I have so many places saved in the App. How do I backup these places just in case my phone is lost or damaged ?

Glitch the first time I opened it closed it and reopened it and it worked great my favorite thing about it is I have tried it with no data and it still works and save my location which is what I need when I'm up in the mountains with no signal

It's good. As a suggestion I would say that please add a option to backup our saved places in a single file so that we can restore our saved places if something went wrong. Now I am using Share GPS Location as the developer stopped updating this app.

Ive noticed that it takes some time before a gps fix is obtained, can you fix this issue. It doesn't make sense to save a place if you have to wait forever before the current location is highlighted and the save key is revealed.

If you need to keep track of locations without the mind boggling complexity of the big gps apps this is the app for you.

I just moved from HTC to Samsung & greatly miss HTC Footprints. After a long search, I found this app & this is the only app with that functionality & speedy recording of ur location (3 clicks). The app still is in it's infancy & missing a lot of bells & whistles of Footprints. But it does the core functionality of Footprints & it does it very well which is record ur location / locations & navigate u from any point to your saved locations. It is a life saver for me & wish there was a way to contribute to this developer's work.

No longer have a HTC and missing the Footprints app. This is a very good alternative. However when try and enter co-ordinates manually it will not accept a ',' or '-' so no way to enter. Please fix and will be an excellent app with 5*

Samsung GIO, cannot get very far before it crashes, needing a forced close. Pity because using Google's starred places is useless. No sorting, no renaming - how do a recognize the name of a place by its address. Surely my friends name or whatever is much more sensible. I cannot believe how GMaps can be so featureless.

Still an early version so a bit immature. Great integration with GPS apps. Look forward to new releases. Crashes if try to use the My Location feature during add. I had to install another app to get this functionality that this app reports to support. Needs ability to export saved locations for backup purposes.
