About WebCalc
WebCalc is a tool for designers and developers to quickly make calculations for ratio, divisible numbers, and to calculate phi.
The Ratio section allows a user to enter the width and height of an image or video to get the ratio. The ratio can then be used to with a calculation below to help determine the height of an image or video by entering the new width. This helps when transcoding video as you can keep your videos in the proper aspect ratio.
The Divisible tab helps you figure out the number by which your base number is divisible by and by how many times. Enter a base number and the calculator will tell you what numbers will go into the number and how many times. This is useful for calculating container sizes and grids. Try entering 960 or 1140 into this calculator to see why designers and developers prefer these as base numbers for grid systems.
The Phi calculator will help you figure out the phi or Golden Ratio of a base number. This is useful for column size, site layout, and design.
