MinFreeManager for Android
Who needs a clumsy task killer?
MinFreeManager allows you to set the parameters of Android's built in memory manager the way YOU want them. No more closed apps hogging your precious memory.

Update v1.6 - Now supports auto apply after a reboot! (...on some roms)
5 Stars in Reality, but 1 star because this type of functionality is needed when one does not have init.d - This is THE app to use. Forget AutoKiller etc. Useless apps. This is the one. Learn to use it and it will serve you well. P.S. Noobs as well as idiots, before giving 1 Star, please know that you need Root Access, AND a Kernel that support init.d - If you do not know what that is, please go learn and do not mess with this. Thank you.
Seems to work I got no clue. I just use the aggresive preset. I am by no means qualified to do anything custom.
This app removed all the lag on my moto g + greenify. And would be amazing to use on lollipop
Awesome on the Droid. Ditched ATK and haven't looked back.
No special permissions and does its job... don't use task killers but rather tweak the built in android memory manager. This works perfectly well for me on rooted Galaxy S Vibrant.
Nothing spectacular.. Wish it would let u disable certain apps from being closed, such as the home/launcher. Slowdowns when loading up closed home sux
Don't listen to the morons that don't have rooted phones. Works great, settings don't apply at boot, no big deal. Rooted DX
First I tried to edit min free system/module/lowkillerapp/minfree but after restart it was automatically reseted. I tried many methods and this app saved me great app dont hesitate to dowload it
It really fixed my problem in just a couple of touches, 10/10 would use again
Crashes on launch with CM12 on a GT-i9300 :(
This application is possibly good, but on samsung fascinate, i couldn't save settings. After reboot settings go to stock
It just works! (Waves goodbye to launcher pro lag and redraws) BB. 05
Great app. Rooted Droid running BBv0.4 will give 5 stars when the run on boot works.
It really fixed my problem in just a couple of touches, 10/10 would use again
I was looking for a simple app with a GUI for adjusting minfree that would apply on boot with a script in init.d instead of being run as a service on boot... This does exactly that. Other apps I tried attempted to do too much, this is exactly what I needed.
It does not reestablish settings on boot but it could be easily done as a workaround for devices that misses the script file. Auto memory manager is the app you are looking for if you want settings reestablished after boot.
Crashes immediately on Moto G 1st Gen with rooted Lollipop. I rooted it just to install this app so I could actually use this phone, due to an awful memory issue that Motorola refuses to fix. So it really sucks that after losing all my data and rooting, this app is completely useless.
There should exist a "reference page" for what each "type" will change "what". And most of the times the app wont save the settings after Reboot. Solving This would help to get higher ratings, specially among noobs and as well better customization and understanding. Great app. I still need to understand it better. Highly recommended.
Rooted and have super user access, but... Can't get settings to stay, keeps reverting back to original settings Even tried to apply at boot Still not staying on aggressive?
It really fixed my problem in just a couple of touches, 10/10 would use again
was working on rooted droid x, but after update and re root doesn't work
Got Sprint Hero, this apparently is a must have! I can notice a huge difference. I keep it on Aggressive.
Wow, gave even more snap to my X! Must have. ( set to aggressive)
Settings were saved at boot on my Desire running LeeDroid, but not on my Galaxy Tab :-( Oh, and Scott: you fail. Hard.
What more can you ask for? Great app that manages memory the way android was designed. Leave the task killers in the trash.
Doesn't save settings on reboot. If you're ok with reapplying settings every session, it does speed up phone noticably with agressive memory sets.
It's ok, and but this automatically switches back to default Settings everyone my phone is not on. :/
Wonderful app! Dont understand why morons rate an app low because it requires root access?? I think idiots like that shouldnt buy a smart phone!
Awesome, set to aggressive, so far no problems. Noticeably smoother scrolling. Maybe im wrong but my battery seems to be lasting longer
Ngoy.I have been try all the taskiller.but this is the only one I like.it really work.save me alot of baterry.I'm gonna stick with this one.thank you.
Once you learn the proper settings its great, but they provide no help I had to Google for help. Apply at boot doesn't work either.
Great app, but on droid x, it doesn't apply on boot. Darkslide v4.2
One more "wont apply at boot" here.. HTC EVO - 5 Stars when it does :-/
It doesnt work for droid need to fix that
Author warns that messing with the app can screw up your system, but doesn't give any info on what the settings do. tldr= Needs in-app help.
4 stars until settings apply at boot. Fantastic app otherwise.
Works perfect except the apply at boot doesn't work. D2
Why not update this app anymore? I have a feature request, execute minfree script at start up, so kernel without init.d support can be helped.
Don't waste your money on bling-bling apps which only end up taking up memory themselves, and are in fact just a shameless rip-off of this app (with plagiarisms in the documentation, making it appear as if they thought of it - you know who I'm talking about, AutoKiller). This app does what it says, does what it needs to do (which is allow you to tune the OOM settings), no special permissions, and once you've tuned the settings, it needs no special program or service to run. Excellent results on my HTC Sensation (rooted, ARHD 6.8.0). Tuned using the preset "Aggressive" and my Sensation is running *really* smoothly again. Thanks for your work, oldskool73!

This app just contain what it promise. No bloat, no spam, no heavy-weight interface with confusing option. I really hope all tweaker apps do things as simple as this. 4 thumb-ups for developer
