About ANT+ Demo

The ANT+ Demo is a sample application for displaying your heart rate, running speed, and weight from ANT+ enabled Heart Rate Monitors, Weight Scales, and Foot Pods (Speed/Distance Monitor).

This is not intended to be a fully featured application; instead use it to verify the ANT+ connectivity in your phone or through an ANT USB stick. For a similar app which allows connection to a more complete list of device types, try out the ANT+ Plugin Sampler (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.antplus.pluginsampler)

Requires:
-ANT+ Plugins (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplus)
-ANT Radio Service (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.service.socket)
-ANT hardware support on your phone (see the description of the ANT Radio Service page for more info)

Connections will stay alive in the background if they are open when the application is hidden (as you would expect from an exercise tracking app), unless you chose exit from the menu or turn the sensor off by clicking the icon.

A note for developers: Previously the source code for this application was made available as part of the ANT SDK, but you should now use the ANT+ Plugins Sampler in the ANT+ SDK.

Cool little app to help those like me to see an example of what ANT could do with the correct hardware. Now I want something to try ANT with. I installed the app, tried it, got the idea of how it might be used, wrote this review, and uninstalled the app in less than 5 minutes. English majors I know that was a run-on sentence, ;-)

Really bad app to showcase ANT+ Tech. Doesn't see my Bontrager Speed/Cadence sensor nor my Motorola HR sensor, all of which the ipbike app works with quite well. Galaxy Note 3. MAYBE they should make it work with more than a foot Pod and one HR sensor. Just saying...

Installed this app on my HTC x1 to use with my Garmin he strap and it does not work do not down load it is a waste of time.

This is a simple app that displays the readings from a heart rate monitor etc. that communicates using ANT+. It works very well on my Xperia Ray when I'm wearing a Garmin heart rate monitor. Note the remark in an earlier review regarding first disabling and enabling ANT+ in Performance Assistant -- I had to do the same.

For some reason I had to disable and enable ANT+ support in Xperia Mini with Performance Assistant app to make it work.

Love it, now we just need the app developers to actually look for ANT+ sensors on devices that have host based USB ports, or perhaps look for the ANT+ radio service or ANT USB service.
