About Drydawn Bedwetting Diary App
Designed and built in conjunction with the International Children's Continence Society, the Drydawn app is aimed at children and parents and brings a gamified experience to the bedwetting diary process.
Let our fun and friendly character Ingolf take the child through the journey of basic information gathering then more advanced diarising of intakes, voidings and outputs, all along the way inspiring and enthusing the child to be fully involved in the process. Ingolf and his family reward the child for sharing information, rewards can then be exchanged for cool virtual gifts which can be used to dress Ingolf and share the fun!
We set out to create a truly engaging app for children who wet the bed. Working with a group of leading healthcare professionals, we tried to identify what was needed for this group of children and how best to deliver it. We all know as marketers in this therapy area that children are often reticent to discuss their bedwetting and that they feel shame and embarrassment about the condition.
The Drydawn app revolves around a central character Ingolf. This character is also central to our new patient bedwetting website Drydawn.com. We needed to create an app that would be discreet yet still able to record the information that could ultimately lead to a diagnosis
Ingolf can be personalised by the user by gaining rewards – rewards are earned simply by recording entries thus encouraging the user to enter data.of their problem. All the information that is entered into the app will be used to generate a physician’s report that can be emailed or printed out.
The app is divided into 2 main sections:
Drydawn diary:
A simple wet/dry recording to monitor how many nights are wet. Each entry is rewarded by a medal that can be exchanged for an item of clothing for Ingolf.
Detailed Diary:
This section of the app helps record a child’s fluid intake and output – each entry will be rewarded with a medal and builds up an accurate record of when and how much the child is drinking and also their urine output during the day and at night.
This section will require some parental help (weighing diapers and recording urine volume) as do the paper versions of these type of diaries but the app provides an easy and accurate way to record information (and the child continues to collect medals!)
All the information that is entered into the app will be used to generate a physician’s report that can be emailed or printed out. This report will clearly show the key data points that healthcare practitioners will need to consider when making a diagnosis.
