Ness aComms for Android
The app does not update the status of zones and alarm areas quick enough.
The apps is setup with port forwarding configured, and I am able to use the apps at home fine. HOWEVER, when I use it remotely, it works sometime, but more often than not, I get an error of "LOST CONNECTIONS"! Any help from the developer on this?
The app seems to function well however it desperately needs some form of authentication. For a security product, it doesn't have any security.
When i needed help they where very quick to respond and fix the problem.
Have problems with comms at times.
Cool if you want to just arm and disarm your device
A good app. Some minor fixes are needed. Examples are. -Panic Alarm: The app needs to be killed to stop the audible alert even after a valid code has been entered to stop the alert. -Visual feedback: a simple point, but having the buttons change colour for a moment when a keypad button is pressed would be great to visually see if a incorrect button has been tapped. When the system is armed, the "Arm" button is still present, the button should either be disabled, renamed to "disarm" or removed entirely. All round a good app, but needs some minor work.
The developer has been great in working through some issues with us.
Need to fix bug where renaming a panel doesn't actually save the new panel title.
Great app for Ness alarm panels
I like this systems functions and reliability and the recent app update is a great improvement. However both my Ness8 touch screens are showing failure after less than 3 years. Horizontal lines have appeared which blank out the section affected. Is there a fix for this. Warranty inevitably is less at 2 years. Help
Good app but could do with a notification feature where alarm has not been armed at a set time.
Previous issues seen to be resolved now, working well. Support is very good
App works great and I love that you can see what zone caused your alarm to trigger
Android App hasn't been working, we can't use it as it says "lost connection" which is fairly pointles when our alarm has gone off and we can't disable it. Is there a solution to this problem?
Every time I open the app I get an error message. Also get lost connection warnings every few days necessitating a reboot of the ip232 interface I have a feeling this app is overloading the ip232 interface. Settings are correct worked on previous versions. Same happens on my wife phone
Good app does the job but would be good to get the following. 1. A widget that let's us know if armed/unarmed. 2. Response or refresh rate is slow, if I try and open the garage door via the auxiliary button I get a pcb v7.8 required error. If I wait 10 seconds it's fine. It's the same if you want to view if panel is armed. You have to wait around 10 seconds until it updates. Not an issue with my connection as I run a few security CCTV without latency issues. Cheers Troy
Great app but I would love to see some type of authentication method such as code or password to make it a bit more secure.
App is fine apart from reporting, I'm trying to come up with some sort of an add on possibly off the relay board that will report to my phone if panel is in alarm so i can do something about it.
It needs the exclude button, (ITS A MUST) It would be also good to have the P button so if you had to you can program/make changes on the fly.
It would be a nice feature to be able to view the panel history, just to see how it's been... Besides that it does what I need
The developer is very easy to deal with and hasn't missed anything on this great security application. Thanks Droidsoft.
Was easy enough to setup, but it's doesn't open the app with a notification that the alarm has been activated when armed. Would be great for phone to notify an event.
Everything is good except for the layout. iComms is better compared to this. Thats the only -ve I have noticed.
Works as designed Thankyou Ness..no more stressing now I know if alarm activated or not..however id like to see the temporary day mode function "0E" added to notification display..Temp day mode can be operated via remote but does show status in acomms as it does in icomms..Also audible notification of arm disarm and aux functions would be of use as well particularly if there are other users operating system and an administrator wants to monitor use otherwise 5 stars even if its not as sexy as icomms lol
This app does little more than a wireless key fob which is way cheaper than the app and IP232 Ethernet to Serial module for the Ness controller. The iPhone app has better look / feel / functions but at the end of the day NESS warn you not to use your IP232 across the Internet (unsecure unless VPN). If you really need to check your alarm via the Internet and are a complete geek then maybe but for all intensive purposes you would be better with the key fob. Also - my NESS IP232 would only boot with an IP address 2 out of every 5 times so it went back too. Sadly well after 15 mins so a waste of $10 (super expensive considering the functionality of the app)
The software performs flawlessly. Don't know what the other mixed reviews are but can only assume network setup issues are to blame. Set it up right and it works like a dream. Thanks
Works perfectly over a VPN connection. Make sure that you select 9600 baud in the ip232 config utility.
Works one day stops the next

Since the last app update connecting is hit and miss, mostly miss. My wifi strength is the same and it doesn't matter if I'm connecting by phone or tablet. Update. Thanks guys for fixing the cycling when using a tablet.
