Does exactly what it says it does. Nothing more, nothing less. No freaky permissions either, which is most refreshing to see.
It's an excellent app for quick switching brightness. But I'd like to be able to config granularity (8 is more than I need), direction (have each tap make it dimmer instead of brighter), and default manual brightness (specific level, or remember previous)
Lags and skips the level you want, them have to cycle through 8 to get the one you want. Would be better if you could just choose 3 of the brightness of your choosing.
I like this widget, I have most of the others on my home screen but I have to uninstall because it drives me wild having to cycle through all the brightness levels. I will probably keep checking this though to see if there has been any updates about that then will reinstall. I still give it 4 because it might not botherother ppl.
Hated how many times you had to push this freakin' thing to get 100% brightness. I give a star for the aesthetic.
When you press the widget it goes bright for a second then dims back down again. Stupid
It's very useful but it takes too long to change on mu Droid 2. The actual brightness changes before the icon level does. Overall, needs to be faster.
8 brightness levels are not "available", you are stuck with them. Description implies you can adjust and is misleading.
I used to set my phone's brightness to the lowest to save battery and sometimes forgot to adjust it before I go for outdoor activities. I can't use my phone at all under the sun as I can't see the screen. With this app, I just need to simply tapping on right top corner of my home screen as I know the shortcut to adjust the brightness is there!
Love it! I want nor then 4less then 8 I wish I could find something with 5or 6 but this works just fine HTC droud incredible 2
Works great, but some configuration options are desired, even if only available in the paid version. Like steps of brightness, default manual brightness, and direction (bright to dim, dim to bright).
Didn't work. When I touched the widget to increase brightness level it would momentarily flash that brightness level but wouldn't stay bright.
Pretty good, but I wanted to toggle between auto-bright and lvl 2 most of the time. That's 6 whole lvls to cycle thru that I won't use.
It does exactly what it says it does, but it takes a while to cycle through all of the levels. I wish I could adjust/set how many levels I want.
This widget looks good but it isn't always responsive to your taps. Getting it to go back into the Auto mode can take a few rounds. I ended up switching to a different method.
Excellent concept but, double tapping is problematic! sometime works, sometime doesn't... otherwise will rate it five stars! Should have an option to make 4 levels instead of 8 (too many levels!) Using in XPERIA Z1
Been using this for a long time now. Essential on this phone because inbuilt auto brightness is crazy and I want to save battery AND my eyes :-D Double tap to go Auto really rescues me when I go outside and find I'm on Dim. Full Marks to the developer on this one!!
Really good to have many levels of brightness. Problem with HTC widget was only three levels and couldn't get brightness low enough.
Nice widget. Sent request to developer to add a step setting to toggle 2 or 3 setting per click or specific settings. No answer.
I like it an at Clayton its slow for you cause you have the Droid X Motorolas are crap. Sorry but its just the truth. Rooted HTC Incredible
Works very well. Only suggestion would be to add another double tap to return to the previous brightness level from auto.
On my Wopad m12 this app toggled the screen brightness down so much that I could not see anything on the screen
Cool widget! Does what it says... 8 + auto settings are perfect. Should reset back to last setting though after removing from auto mode. HTC Desire
Nice icon, easy functionality. If you want to click thru 8 pre-set levels. I prefer the slider option on Brightness Level by CurveFish.
I like that it is only brightness and has auto. But i find it hard to get on or off auto. Usually takes me a couple tries
Quick and easy to use. Would give 5 stars if the widget icon was a bit smaller so it lines up with my other icons.
Wanted something to truly dim the display brightness...you can perform surgery even on 0% dim with default app. Get killer migraines and this app makes the phone useable and no longer a weapon of torture :). Thx very much!!!
Can't get the auto to work, only reason I installed was for auto option. Ill keep it in hopes its only a bug that will be fixed
This is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately there's a bug where the screen always goes to maximum brightness after using the camera. It seems like this is a long-standing issue -- time to fix it!
Xcellent. Droidmania does it again. The matching bluetooth toggle works really nicely too. Grazie. Droid X.
I've been using this widget ever since I first got a Droid, and it remains extremely helpful. I use my phone at night, in the day, outside, inside, but I don't like the automatic brightness setting. With this widget you can quickly and easily change the brightness just how you like it.
Been using this over a year now, easy to use, helps save battery power 03AUG2013. I have been using this for over a year on my HTC One-X Quadcore. It sits on the Home Screen, tap it to adjust screen brightness, adjusting to the lowest level needed helps conserve battery power. Great APP.
I just need 2 or 3 toggle states, so please consider having an option to select the states I need, THANKS!
Excellent! Needs one more level, a really dim setting for night time driving.
In orher to find it when my screen gets dark is that I place the app in the lower left corner of each Desktop window or page my cellphone has. Is very frustrating when screen goes dark not to find it in a convenient location.
Brilliant but I just can t stand the icon text!
After the camera app always turn the screen brightness to maximum and often failed to turn it back, this is the next best thing. The double tap for auto brightness is a nice touch and work flawlessly on my HTC Sensation
Rooted today; brightness toggle does nothing. Icon updates with additional brightness indicators, but brightness of display does not react. Loved this widget previously. Sad now. :-( Droid 4, ICS 4.2.1, rooted.
Double clicking does not work for me (galaxy s3). 8 brightness levels seem too much.

Widget works great. FYI the Galaxy S2 has a hidden brightness slider in the notification bar that works great but it doesn't allow you to go between manual and auto adjust settings so this widget is a keeper. See You-Tube for the hidden slider in the notification bar.
