DriveSafe.ly® Free SMS Reader for Android
Does not read emails
This app works great. Very passive. Hides when not active then works when needed. The only problem is you can't choose which bt connection it should activate for. It always enables for all bt connections. I don't want people at my party hearing messages over my surround sound when I'm playing Pandora. Only with the car bt.
I installed the Free version and liked it so well, I purchased the Pro (for about 8 minutes!) - After upgrade, suddenly the app was not hearing me, AND though setting correct Email user & password, I received error messages telling me it wasn't right info! (I refunded in time allowed)- - STICK W/ FREE VERSION, IT WORKS WELL..... - Wish the Pro worked right, it would be a great app...
"Connection error, try again later", about 25% of the time. It's great when it works. I want to buy the full version but I can't justify it when it doesn't work consistently. I've used this with LG's app at the same time and LG's will always play back while this one often fails so I know it's not my headset or bluetooth connection. Furthermore, this app will randomly play through the phone's speaker when no headsets are turned on. This is incredibly annoying when I expect phone to be quiet.
Works well with good volume. However, it turns off prematurely when you have 2 Bluetooth connections (ear piece and car) and One goes away. Also, it would be much nicer of you could the it to a specific Bluetooth connection, like the car and have it mark the text as Read after reading it.
Paid version. Reads SMS but could not hear my response. The Nokia version was much more reliable and did not even need internet connection. This one needs data connection to work.
The fully paid app supposed to be better than the free app but sadly dissapointed as nothing changed. Wanted celebrity voice but all it does is take me to talkz stickers that are totally fruitless. Wasted £6.99
Bought the app and 99% off the time when I receive a text, all I hear is "Connection error, try later"! Will update my rating if I hear from their support.
After purchasing lifetime key, app works great....for quite a while, then just stops.....from HTC G2 all the way to S7 that is reporting that this app is slowing my processor....with that....one week to fix or i uninstall and find something else
Used to be good but now 99% of the time instead of reading an incoming text msg it just says "connection error, try again later". I've used this app for years without this ever happening and now it's all the time. Going to uninstall.
It's great to keep you off your phone while driving. It reduces distractions & I love the auto-reply!
If I want to reply to a text or use different voices I have to pay £6.34. I want it to read the caller name to me I have to install another app. Jog on.
Reads texts, paid for Probs, does not acknowledge voice reply like cortana can which is free to windows phone. This is a S8 phone I have, speech reply is set to on, but when asked for command it falls on def ears. Not recommended. Biggest waste of £6 odd. If you want this feature, try and get a windows phone with cortana, if you are lucky enough to get hold of one.
Used to work well but for some reason now announces new message but then only beeps. Does not read the message Uninstalled it.
Has a very annoying pop-up for every text it doesn't allow you to close it more than half the time.
Does not respond to messages using the respond command and no way to request a refund? Really ?!?!Don't buy it!!!
Does not read texts on my GS 7.
Good at reading texts. I would buy the pro but customer service has not gotten back to me to answer a couple of questions.
Do not pay for it is not working
When my phone is in silent mode, it doesn't send auto response. Other than that, it's great!
Does what I need it to do
Good messages that can safe lives. Keep up, you might safe lives.
Love it so convenient for me had it 4 years now
Saved
Love it an i will tell everyone you know what right
Can't read messages out as connection error
The SMS feature of this app is excellent to be sure. SMS messages are read as they come in just as it is intended. That said, the email functionality of this application is garbage. I have tried multiple configurations based on their FAQ page. I know I am configuring the settings correctly and it does not work. I paid $10 for the premium version of this application and have reached out to the developer for help and not gotten a response. Look elsewhere for an app that does SMS and email.
Have to pay £6.34 to be able to do anything remotely useful and also download other 'bolt on' apps for speech, etc! Complete rip off, so much for promoting road safety more like maximum profit. Jog on and look for cheaper, even free, alternatives. Would give a zero if possible.

Idk how this app is only rated at 3.8 ?? This is the BEST driving app for free!! You get so many features! I use it while working & driving. You can change the message that is sent to the people who text you. (Or email, but I don't use that). I have used this app for few years and never had any issues. I love it! Kudos to the developer!
Can not put in sever info fails every time. Was great on my blackberry but not on my note 4
But it has a bug that needs fixed then I'll give it 5 stars. If u get a text that's more than a couple sentences it doesn't end up reading the whole text.
It keeps turning itself off after a few minutes of operation... Is this a free version feature?

Works generally OK for text. They are read to you while you're driving however it seems like you need a computer science degree to configure the emails to be read. the configuration asks for server addresses and port numbers and other things that I don't even know what they are.
