Runs in the background (start this app first), great for reading, or as a relaxing alternative for trashy game-music loops. Can undermix music apps or audio-books for ambiance with simple volume limiting in the app (-1 star), other apps have full track control. Has far more than just wind; also surf, creaking trees, nature desert ocean, and forest soundscapes (+1 star, got 5 back). Not just for sleeping, but perfect for working or increasing focus when studying. Use this to block out other annoying sounds, like fluorescent lights, co-workers, boss, or neighbours (works best with noise-cancelling headsets). I am very impressed with the length, variety, and quality of the sounds. The portability of Android devices means having your own little nature world to carry with you!

So your about to fall asleep to the peaceful noise and just as you are about to go to dreamland you hear loud popping or creaking. This was a huge disappointment!
