Sundance Now for Android
OMG its infuriating trying tie watch a movie. Constantly buffering. I'm glad it has a 7 day free trial so I could see how hard it is to watch anything before I paid for it.
I signed up for a free month trial through Groupon and after 7 days I was charged! If I knew that was a lie I would have waited until I wasn't busy to try out the "free trial" NOT IMPRESSED
They say free and then take your credit card information that's a bunch of c***
it has been said before but I'll say it again, impossible to like this app until the buffering lag is fixed. very hard to watch anything that stops every so often then skips. content is appealing but close to unwatchable.
Sept 20 update broke the search function, broke the film category listings, broke the usa series.listings. support seem did interested or in denial. And unwilling or unable to roll back to previous 2.6.0.version. to hire some QA guys
I can't believe you charge for the services. It took 45 mins to get 12 mins into a documentary. Constant loading. It's not my WiFi because every other app works fine.
The screen doesnt flip horizontally :-/
No closed captioning.
i signed up to watch kuso. i handed google my financial information and it will not play. i hope i can figure out how to cancel this at the end if my trial period as to not get charged $60 for a years worth of service which was the only option. its a scary movie alright.
i thought the app would be cool to try out so i downloaded it to my s7 phone, but now every time i try to watch something the app crashes befor i get to even fully start movie. so i thought "okay. maybe i can watch it online". NOPE. everytime i click on the movie, an Ad for the app pops up saying to watch it via the app. i believe that you should have the option to watch on either or. Can someone please fix this..i would like to watch a movie
Doesn't support Chromecast, so cancelled my subscription immediately.
It only works when it feels like. It kept crashing.
The selection is great which is why we signed up. I want to like this app more than Netflix but the other reviews document its flaws: it lacks essential features such as 'bookmarking' to resume playback where left off or to rewind back by 5-30 seconds at a time. I was able to overlook this during the two selections I did get through (and not at all without issue) but I've attempted to watch 3 other films and the stream just hangs every minute or so making it completely unwatchable. I haven't gone back in weeks. There is no Chromecast option from a browser either. There are so many movies I've queued up to see. I'm going to try once again this weekend, but if there are no improvements I don't see the point of paying a monthly fee to view a catalogue. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// EDIT: I forgot about this app from not using it. I tried watching something again today. It's been stuck at 00:02:44 for minutes now and it's not going to resume. Nothing has changed after months of negative feedback. So much potential wasted. I was willing to overlook the complete lack of features but simple playback is a non-event. Cancelling subscription.
I'm glad that the trial is free because this app is garbage. So many great documentaries & films I would love to watch here, but literally everything I've played (both on app + website) cuts out every other minute with ridiculous lag times & buffering that makes it all virtually pointless to even attempt trying to get through 20 minutes of a film, let alone the entire thing. My internet connection, mind you, is fine. It's this app that sucks. Takes me back to the old days of dial-up speed! Boo!
Was planning to watch on TV through chromecast but it frustratingly doesn't work. They don't have Android TV app or Samsung TV App. Update: (6/13):- After 3 months, still hate it as it still doesn't work. Have to cancel.
Disappointed, like other reviewerss, for the lack of a bookmarking feature to enable resuming where you left off. Also, disappointed that I was not able to send to Chromecast.
No resume. If you stop in the middle of a show and come back later, you have to FF from the beginning to get back to where you were.
This app is terrible. It constantly buffers or just stops working.
App is chock full o' glitches. Can't watch something for more than 10-20 max before it just appears to be trying to load endlessly. Mega annoying. If you advance the time a little it will play again...for about 10 minutes.
App is super glitchy. Freezes, lags, crashes.
The way to cancel your subscription is to go to the Sundancenow website, and login to your account, open the menu in the top right corner, tap on "my account" and from there you can cancel your subscription! I hope I helped
Had a problem with my free trial but their support team got to me right away, will definitely subscribe in the future.
If you scroll through a hundred items, click on one movie/show for details, then click back to the list, it starts over at the top of the list. That usually causes me to quit trying to find something to watch. Lame.
Sundance claims it's compatible with Chromecast. Apparently the app is not supported by Chromecast. Unable to get films to play via Chromecast. Which bums me out because there were several I would have liked to watch.
Sundance app doesn't even work, just crashes every time open, same as garbage IFC app. Fix the free older apps that go along with expensive cable subscriptions 1st before charging more!!
It will not load but now I can't figure out how to cancel I went to my Google wallet and nothing was there..
Cancellation instructions intentionally vague/incorrect. Another trap subscription scam site.
i was offered a free 7 days so filled in name, etc.next i was asked to pay. no free week. shabby.
I cant cancel it?
Used to use Sundance Documentary just fine. Paid subscription. Tried to install Sundance Now app on my new Pixel phone. Can't use. Get unknown exception error with suggestion to contact support. How would i do that?
Took me a minute (yes one entire minute) to figure out how to unsubscribe. I can't believe someone on here actually used the phrase, "I will be contacting a lawyer," because they couldn't find the cancel button. Lol. It's seven dollars, babe. You'll be ok. I promise you a lawyer costs more than that. It is always the pettiest change that makes people say though, isn't it? As if we don't know how these free trials work... Either way, good app. I really enjoyed it.
Love,,,love my Sundance Doc movies and documentaries!!! PLEASE ADD CLOSED CAPTIONING!!! AND PAUSE :)
I love Sundance and was stoked to find Sundance Now. Glad there was a free trial, as the last thing I want is another clunky streaming app. First off, closed captioning is a must, as is the ability to resume play where you leave off. Occasionally, I had to start a movie over when I exited the app. With Chromecast my movies froze, often. These are things I noticed within the first 15 minutes of using the app. Perhaps I'll encounter a few others. Issues aside, Sundance Now has promise. Great film selection!
Joined online for a 7 day trial. Cannot find where to cancel, like they hid it. I followed the instructions and there is nothing that says CANCEL!!! I sent an email since I couldn't find it and I swear, if I get charged, I will be contacting a lawyer. This is BS!
5 Stars if you add Chromecast support. And they did!
How in the hell do you read a freaking description about the doc before you decide to play it !!!????please DO tell!!
U didn't choose me but I chose u 2 grow healthy beautiful fruit n whatsoever u ask of the father using my name it shall b given 2u
It wouldn't let me log in so I tried to reset my pw and the link sends me right back to where I started. The fb option isn't working either
As much as I like the curated collections, I've no interest in watching on a phone screen. Casting to a Roku, Chromecast, Etc. Typically works for 1-2 minutes, then promptly fails, gets out of sync, falls into a restart loop, or just crashes. I'll be cancelling the monthly service until this gets proper support.

Good content, very euro. The Bureau is especially worth watching. There's no auto play and poor video controls (+30s would be nice). Also I don't understand why there are 30s of (very annoying) teaser at the beginning of some episodes.
