NETGEAR Genie for Android
It's been a year. This router makes it so easy to set up and use parent controls to limit wireless access to the kids no matter what device they try to use. When it's bedtime, you just shut their device OFF. Thanks for helping parents keep control!!
Even with update and latest firmware, I'm unable to see connected devices in the network map logging in remotely. My router has the latest firmware for the nighthawk x4s and my app is the latest. Both places where you should be able to see connected devices, I cannot. I have logged out, back in, cleared cache, cleared data, checked router settings. I can do everything else but see the devices while logged in remotely. This was occurring with the .32, .36 and .40 version of firmware as well but it used to work at one point.
Piece of pointless junk just like the D6000 turd I just bought. Not even worth explaining why. Absolutely amazes me to think that there are still companies in 2017 that get away with consumer "products" like these.
On a android or Windows laptop you cannot create a openDNS account. They require that you pay for them to open one for you if your warranty has experied. This is insane, why would I pay to make an account that's free. And a lot of people are experiencing this problem and seems like they are doing this on purpose.
Spoty operation. OpenDNS works only sometimes and can be defeated by a smart teen. QoS does not work correctly, even though you can change priority on devices in the PC router login, those don't stick, and the router seems to randomly assign priority. A much older version of this app worked much better with media, I could play my media from a NAS using this app, and send it to my SmartTV but can't do so now as the app only shows about 120 files from my library of about 700.
Per the notes, only works on router mode, not AP (access point). This is a Charter router since I'm tied or trying to keep up with all this tech. After logging into the router via laptop, AP is set to yes. Since I have no idea how to change it from yes to no and I don't know how that would affect my overall network, I'm DOA. I figured this out after trying to login with admin credentials and the app repeatedly telling me, incorrect password. What's really annoying, the PW was not incorrect, AP is set to yes. This is another reason why I stopped buying my own routers in the first place. They've become a pain to deal with and the router corps do very little to support the average customer. Time to seriously look at Google's WiFi devices to replace these traditional routers.
not useful at all. just few options which are pretty easy available via router page. parental control is a joke.
I like it a lot. The traffic meter isn't working for me. It keeps saying it failed. I like being able to see what devices are on my network.
Installed this to use the ReadyShare function to download media remotely but it does not work. The files show up but I get a "failed to read file" error every time I try to access or download the files.
Works great! Has helped me to identify overloaded channels and eliminate buffering in my neighborhood. Solid app with useful features. Stable and responsive. Highly recommended.
Did everything I could think and can not even log in always says login failed like the password is wrong this is useless!
Garbage doesn't work. Constantly fails to recognize password. Password works intermittently on desktop version. Seriously needs to be fixed.
The update doesn't work well. I can almost never see all the devices that are on my network in the "Network Map" . This is very disappointing when you control access from the map. The inconsitanses are most annoying.
Will not connect to my Router/Modem (C6300) some items would work, but others where you have to login...it would not let me sign in. Tried password and Administrator password... maybe it's a Hauwei phone issue?
every thing cool but if possible should add some features like when a new device connect create a notification, mac binding features , limit speed to specific device, limit time for specific device to access etc.
Parental controls don't work with my router model r6900v2... also after update it will not show devices connected to router
Won't let me type in my username. The curser jumps back to the password line everytime. Did anyone test this app???
Can't login into router using this app. Basically its worthless to use please fix asap!
It could be more great if it could let me log in at least once, been trying and it's not working.
Login fails every time. Returns error message "network is busy. Try again later."
I can't enable parental controls because it won't let me login.
Great app for netgear routers. Everything right there to control the router
Doesn't connect all the time always have issues with this
Would love to be able to use this app but it will not let me log in.
Cant use parental control, cant use traffic meter. Says it needs to be hooked up to internet...funny, I am on the internet. SUCKS
Cant log into my router. It keeps telling me I'm not logged into the Wi-Fi. I am with 180Mbps.
This is a great router to have perfect in every way believe me.
Love this app, so beneficial to keep an eye on things while out, also great visuals, I'm impressed
Thank you .. very useful But it needs some enhancements in resolving devices and their names and their connections types
Works great for our household. The feature I love the most is the ability to pause any devices internet.
new version won't connect, loops on loading
Add device block option in wifi
Denies login access
Traffic meter should be there. But otherwise router is working very smoothly
Can't ever log in.
Can't even login.
Great app. Very useful for managing my router
Block my kids access when the grounded and easy to setup parental control
I find this to be a neat app since I deal with IT.

Always used Netgear router, I love this app! Restart it without leaving my chair! Had such issues until the app told me try another channel, world of difference.... Thank you for your easy to use interface, and this Router sets itself up. Plug it in.. easy, anyone can do it. Anyone!
