Great app. Works well with my Motorola Zboard. Worth the mere price of admission for the no add version. Please add ISO 6400. Update, this is by far the best light meter app I have tried. ISO 6400 has been added. When comparing readings against my Sekonic L308S-U light meter, the results are spot on using my Galaxy Note 5.

Love this app. Shot a whole roll of film on an old olympus camera using only this app for metering and the pictures came out great.

Calibrated perfectly on a Samsung S6 using a Fujifilm X70 as reference. It holds readings and has a great interface.

As an exposure meter - obviously depends on camera in phone - can be as accurate as a handheld actual meter. With my Lenovo K50 it's excellent. I paid the small support sum to help encourage author.

fantastic for using with a film camera

I compared the incident reading if this app (installed on Samsung Galaxy S7) to my Sekonic L-478-U and it matched. This is a very accurate light meter to use when you need one and don't have the budget to buy an actual light meter. Of course it has limitations with very dimly lit environment but sufficient for most cases. I have not tested it on other smart phones but I can attest it was acuurate with my SG7 and it's built-in sensors.

I had this on my Galaxy 4 Mini and now on my Galaxy 7 Edge. This app is a lifesaver for us analog shooters. I have a couple of cameras that don''t have built-in meters. And although my Sekonic L398 is a good meter, I don't feel like lugging it around-especially with night photography. LightMeter has an excellent film speed range-especially for those of us who like to push/pull their film speeds. Plus, its f-stop and shutter speed range covers the gamut of most shooting situations. And if you're blessed to have a phone with a good battery life, you can use this with very little concern. Great app for any analog photographer.

I was comparing the EV/FNo. from the app to the readings I was getting from my Minolta Auto Meter III F, and I have to say the app's readings are very close. It may not be totally accurate, but the app is perfect for when you don't wanna carry around an extra device while shooting.

It works like a dream. Plus there is the added bonus of one less piece of kit to carry around. Had the free version which was brilliant, but the paid version has settings so you can calibrate it which makes it a must have for any photographer.

If you're in the need for a good light meter and don't have your money up yet for it this is the perfect solution until than.

I'm always skeptical, but with this app.. Wow!!..I left my light meter at home and decided to download this.. Holy beans!..it works like a charm, every exposition is spot on!.. Perfect!

Tested with my build in nikon d5100 meter and I assumed that with my phone turning reflected light down 1,67 stop meter just as accurate as nikon meter well done! Using a meizu m1 note

It's worth the gamble! I use this for cameras without a light meter and when Sunny 16 is tricky. Easy to read and a little over half the shots meters with this app turn out perfectly.

I'd love to see the upper limit f stop go much higher for large format and pinhole type users.

But, is the warning, "Allow Lightmeter to take pictures and video" to cater for the movement of the dial?

Accurate measurements of the light. Makes for fewer test shots. A plus when covering sports or taking candid shots.

How do I use this app to find different light ratios?

Great light meter that is perfect for film photography. Allows me to fine tune exposure and even has a zoom feature to meter the lighting in a specific point without having to hold and meter there. Seems accurate when comparing with my SLR metering system. Love it!

I'm a photographer from a long way back. I thought I'd try this app on a whim. I was amazed with its accuracy. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. (I assume different handsets will have different accuracies). I'm very impressed.

Repost from the free. This app is perfect for beginners starting to understand light and the professional wanting to get that perfect exposure. Started with lite and couldn't pass up not having the full version. Well worth the price and a perfect companion that I don't have to carry in my camera bag since my phone is in my pocket anyway.

Not entirely sure how light meters compare against each other in DSLRs, but when I match the zoom on both for reflected (my primary use for a light meter), this app is either spot on or pretty darn near. The camera compared against was a Canon 7D and the phone is an LG G4. Frankly, I had the free version for a while as a play thing since I rely on my 7D to do this kind of thing. But I've a Leica IIIF in the mail, so suddenly taking this app more seriously!

An essential companion whenever I am using film camera without built in meter. I wish someone made an app where my phone can work as a viewfinder. Together it would make analogue photography so much convenient.

Great backup to my sunny 16 training. I use it w Leica M4-2. Readings have been spot on viz test readings on my Nikon mirrorless. Xperia Z.

Works well on Verizon Galaxy S5 with 5.0. Compared against a Sekonic L-718 and found acceptable results. However, take into consideration the limits the of sensor on the phone, which has a very small surface for light gathering. Reflective is good. Incident requires some finesse and understanding. The closer to your source and the brighter the source, the better the result. Pro meters come with light covers, and the camera's sensor is bare glass. When comparing to a real meter, use bare glass. This will not replace a real meter in actual work. It's suitable for scouting and initial testing, therefore, 4 stars.

I use this with my Nikon F film camera. I compare it to my Olympus OM2 built in light meter, which is accurate and produces brilliant film photos. This app has been spot on every time. I recently paid for this app to show my appreciation and get a few more features.

This works well with the note 5. I was getting consistent results using this app and taking pictures with my Sony a6000 and Minolta lenses.

Wonderful app! If the dev added an IR or full spectrum mode (IR+visible) it was be flawless!
