AirSync: iTunes Sync & AirPlay for Android
Airsync has not been working for awhile now. Not sure why, tried many times and methods. I've had to use other music players. I cannot seem to update my doubletwist anymore since usb method does not work w doubletwist....shame
This app is simply broken. Setting it up was tedious, had to enter phone's IP address. The Mac app did find the phone after that but when you hit sync it stops before transferring anything. Easier to just move music manually without doublesync :/
Changing my rating and review since I've fixed the issue. App is decent. It will do its job well for small libraries but for large libraries like what I have it will take hours. It loads your entire itunes library every time which takes a long time. Most of my ratings also didn't transfer. No playlist folder support either.
This app is horrible I have over 3000 songs on itunes, this app manned to put only 132 songs in my phone from itunes. Not worth $6 not really worth it being free either. Bad app.
This app will cause you more stress than happiness that's for sure! I spend more time trying to connect it with a wire or wireless just to get it to work it's almost like depending on the mood of the app whether it will work or not it may connect for weeks and work then one day never work again for months waste of money! When it works I love it but that's seldom
I really love that these guys are from Austin, and are trying to take on Crapple (extra star just for that), but air sync is just really flaky. Everytime I sync, i never know if songs will be synced to my device- or if they are, whether their album art will make the trip with them, or if they'll show up on the device, but not play. It's just totally random. I could sync a dozen times and get a dozen different outcomes..
Syncing should mean that my phone reflects the contents of my iTunes library, so when I update track metadata, the tracks are updated in my phone too, and previous versions are removed - this is how iPods work. But your worse than stupid app simply adds the new track versions on top of old ones. Now the library on my phone is a mess. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid when buying this app, it's useless and missold.
This used to work just fine, but now when I stream onto my ps3 (to play the music through my home theater system without cables) it stops streaming after one song even though I clearly have repeat and shuffle selected on the ps3. Might have to just transfer music to a flash drive and play it that way because this app doesn't work. Waste of money for sure. Don't buy this app.
Paid for this option because my LG G3 doesn't do mass storage and it only sorta worked. Over the course of two days, I've only been able to get a fourth of my songs transferred over. Took longer than two hours to figure that this app won't work for me so now I'm out of luck and out $4.99

Very few apps like this work without some tweaking. It was easy, quick, and straightforward. Never written a review before, but this is a very well done addition to my phone and has enabled me to listen to more music because syncing is less of a pain.
I have an Itunes library with over 60K tracks and nearly 200 smart and standard playlists. This app was not written to handle large Itunes libraries well. The accompanying desktop app crashes while loading the library every time.
Have a Gaxaxy S5. I was so excited when it started to work then found it did not copy over 1,000 songs, will not copy play lists and renamed songs with no way of changing them. ):
I bought this app because I needed to mirror my android screen via apple tv. While it works when no security code is enabled I can't make it work when that security feature is there. Can anybody help with this? Thanks
Disappointed with the latest update. Everything was fine before, but now when I open the app and attempt to play a song it does nothing. It looks like it's playing because the pause logo appears, but there's no sound and the time bar stays at 0:00.
I attempted to use to play music in my car on the weekend of the 23rd to 25th of September 2016, and it wouldn't open so I closed it out and stopped using it. Next thing I know Verizon is sending me mass amounts of data overage messages. I get home and find that somehow or someway it's burned through more than 23 gigabytes of my data and my plan is for 8. Craziest part is I DIDN'T EVEN USE the app!!!, and when I used it in the past it was to play music ALREADY streamed. Doubletwist owes me money!!!
I bought this add on for the airplay functionality. Unfortunately, the app does not allow you to start airplay with a flac file. You have to play a mp3 file to get the airplay icon. You then have to star airplay, then switch to a flac file, which will continue to play via airplay. That is just silly
This review has one purpose: to help others. This app does not work as well as its claimed to. It is currently unreliable and very buggy. I wish i could recommend an alternative. As of now, i dont this app is worth a quarter, sorry.
great functionality. the only issue I have is with the desktop application for doubletwist. on my MacBook Air, doubletwist hijacks the play/pause button from iTunes. but the android apps work very nicely. can't wait for the updates
I see people complaining about this app. This app only works in tandem with the Double Twist app. You need to have them both installed on your phone, and also you need to install the free Double Twist program on your computer. Even then you still have to have access to WiFi in your home in order for this to work. Once you have all this, it actually works very well.
just downloaded this and paid for it to stream to my airplay speaker, all I get is like it's playing at 20times normal speed, what waste money. now need to find how to get a refund.
Downloaded this on my S6 and on my Mac, half of the songs don't work (not DRM protected)!!! Ended up using the FREE Google Music Sync and works perfectly! AND ITS FREE. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS
Doesn't stream to AirPort Express, doesn't even support password protected AirPlay. When password is disabled on the AirPort, it just disconnects in less than a second. No refunds! :)
This, together with 'doubleTwist' are life savers for people like me, with iTunes and an Android phone. Hurrah! Works perfectly. All playlists & songs transfered & play beautifully.
USB syncing doesn't work with many new devices. Forced to use Wi-Fi, which is very slow.
Reads data on SD card and internal phone memory well, but errors on syncing data that is stored on the SD card. Error on the PC side when I try to sync is "Cannot access file". Looking forward to a AP that will request that Air Sync have read/write access to the SD card so I can back up 750+ photos taken by my camera.
This should not automatically REMOVE SONGS!!! I can't even get them back on my phone right now, I am so upset if I knew it was going to completely remove things that I didn't even specify ESPECIALLY SOME OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONGS and ruin my playlists I would have never downloaded or bought this app. Thank you for ruining my day now I get to trouble shoot instead of just uploading a song and being able to go about my day. F*cking ridiculous option that I can't find to turn off.
sooo sloooowwww. With very strong WiFi connection on both devices.
iTunes music sync yes, but podcasts are not in sync... Played, pause/resume all in disarray when using more than one device to listen to them.
I switched to iSyncr for syncing the music and audio on my Mac to my Android. The Mac desktop tool seems to always have issues connecting with my iTunes library and also syncing takes forever. I now use DT exclusively for Podcasting. It's still the best Android podcast tool out there.
Every time I want to use AirSync, I have to force my PC and tablet to see each other again.
With the recent update I am not able to use airsync with my mac and my device won't even show up if I plug it into the computer
Using with a Mac. Works to a degree but hugely buggy. Considering uninstalling although I have yet to find a reliable alternative app that interacts well with iTunes. My main 2 gripes: 1. Duplicate tracks. Itunes tells me I have 5868 tracks in my library. Airsync tells me (on the desktop app) that I have 9939. This is due to large numbers of tracks being detected and transferred twice (or more occasionally). Manually deleting only works for a few minutes: the deleted tracks then re-appear. It's really frustrating to have to listen to the same track twice/skip it when listening to an album on the move. 2. Syncing via wi-fi takes a looooooooong time (my library was going to take approximately 29 hours to transfer). Due to some quirk in the programme design, you can only transfer music via a wired connection if your phone can be set to "USB mass storage mode". As I undertsand it, the HTC One M8 does not have this capability. As a result of this, I've had to use an alternative app to upload my library via a wired connection and am trying to use Airsync to update it as I buy new music.
Need to install Desktop counter part, but otherwise, this is an extremely easy process, when it works. Recently has been a bit weird - my computer sometimes rails to register my phone and triggering a manual look up from my phone is also inconsistent. but my tablet has no issue. also, have not been able to get this to work with a macintosh computer (osx 10.7.5) - just keeps trying to import my iTunes playlists all the time.
Why do I have up to four copies of the same song on my phone? For whatever reason, you get many duplicates of songs, which you hear again and again when listening to an album/playlist in doubletwist. I pushed everything in my iTunes library up to the cloud and use Amazon Music. Way happier.
Frustrating app that I just put up with as it's the only one that consistently works albeit in a kind of 'gets there in the end so long as the wind is in the right direction and you stand on one leg' kind of way... Never works flawlessly from one sync to the next, regularly have to force an airsync connection, and have to restart the PC program to refresh itself otherwise it never sees your iTunes changes, and it messes up my logical playlist hierarchy on the phone into just alphabetical ones, horrid.
Every time I use this app that I paid for the privilege of using I can look forward to music being corrupted and deleted without warning from my phone. Today 11/12 of a schoolboy q album is missing, I don't have any OutKast, and Drake apparently isn't allowed anymore. What an adventure.
First off, this app does what it says it does, and its pretty simple to use after you read some "How-to's" on their Site. But are some Pro's and Con's as there is on any app so I'll keep this short, so i'll start with the good. I really enjoyed the gui on the desktop app, a lot nicer looking then some other iTunes syncing apps. Really liked that you dont have to open the app on your device to sync, just select the playlist from you pc, and done. Other apps like Syncr don't do that which is a bit of a bug for me. Now for the bad. You have to purchase a Pro Version after you buy this app if you want all the features!!! whomp whomp!! And you have to DL their music player as well (but you dont have to use it), which has problems with playing some Apple Loseless files. Last bug that i have encountered on this first day of using this app is, it tends to forget my passcode for the desktop app, so i constantly have to re-enter it. So....that sucks... For the most part the app is good, not great, but good. Just got some bugs to take care of, and it will be perfect.
Just a few quibbles: 1) I wish USB sync worked over MTP mode, since my phone can't mount as mass storage. I'd rather sync with USB anyway, but apparently this is my only option. 2) AirSync shows up as its own icon in the list of apps, even though it just opens DoubleTwist. 3) The pairing code was a bit hard to find in the app. I suspect a lot of these one-star reviews just gave up before finding it. Besides those, it works as advertised, without much fuss, and speedily enough (a second or two per song). The sync interface is familiar and modelled after iTunes', so you can choose individual playlists to sync.

When I very first purchased this app I thought it was great, however, it's far from what it seems. First when syncing videos from my computer there is no way of selecting the individual movies I want to put on my phone. Second after selecting my music that I want I'll go to work and when I come back home bam it automatically syncs to my computer erasing everything I put on it. Or let's say I want to add just a video after syncing my music, you can't do it. It erases everything then adds whatever. Not good.
