doubleTwist Music & Podcast Player with Sync for Android
Great app and totally worth supporting the developers
Great program.
Decent new interface but where is the "broadcast device manually" functionality? Often has trouble connecting to synch and help pages are still showing the old interface. Please reinstate. Also, navigation from playing a song back to the main menu takes too many different steps now. But core content playing is great.
Brilliant music player, my first choice over the default player every time! doubleTwist is easy to navigate, stylish in its simple way and has almost every offline feature that I look for in a music player. The only thing I find it to be lacking is the 'previous song' feature (where you triple click the mic button to go back to the beginning of the track or hear the previous track). Or is that a paid feature that I'm just missing out on? Either way it's the best I've used so far, long live doubleTwist!
I really like this app, which is carrying something because I'm really picky on my music apps. The reason I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the podcasts section. For the life of me, I cannot find an option to mark some of the episodes as done, or listened to. You can listen to them one-by-one to clear them which is fine for new posts you just picked up, and you can mark an episodes currently released as done, but you can't mark a selection of them as done. Once that has been implemented, in change my rating. Absolutely fantastic app otherwise.
Closest, best itunes alternative I've found. I was a long time Apple user and have always been dissapointed in android music apps. I played for the upgrade in hopes of syncing with my itunes account (which it can't do) but it still works amazing and I actually like it better then apple!! Podcast feature needs more features!!!!! Downloaded episodes & the ability to add them to playlists!!!
Absolutely the best music player on the play store. The audio quality is exceptional the magic radio and podcast features are absolutely amazing and are what sets this music player from all the others. The selection of stations and podcasts are enormous! My only gripes are that the price of the pro version is rather expensive and the shuffle function often plays chunks of songs by the same artist instead of a truly random mix of songs (my library is only a couple hundred of songs). Other than that great job and thank you for putting in so much work into this great player.
Keeps pausing. Also want doubletwist to team up with Google and PUMPKIN Bluetooth car radios. Another issue AOL radio removed their music application which was the best source for extreme alternative rock and power metal bands. Unfortunately the competitors aren't replaceable.........
I had a great deal of trouble getting this app to function the way the setup guides say it should. Went through all the troubleshooting guides and then gave up and tried getting Airsync. This also gave me hassle and didn't work as expected. I now have some of my library on my phone, some decided it wouldn't transfer, as did some album artwork. But... what I do have on my phone plays beautifully and the app is easy to navigate. I only wish it had been easier to set up.
Why don't u let us move the app to an external storage. It's too large an app to store internal. I luv the app but cant update it cos of lack of internal storage. N i dont have any unwanted apps in internal either. Pls come up with something soon. The only reason y i rate it a 3 is cos of this.
Used to like it, but having nothing but trouble now and no way to contact tech support for free app. I can't sync my playlists. For example, one list has 22 songs in iTunes, but only 2-9 songs sync to my phone. The number changes each tine I try it. Tried getting help on Google+ page, but found it difficult, time consuming, and did not solve my problem. This experience does not inspire confidence in the pro version.
Seriously just junk. I'm embarrassed for Android users stuck picking the best of the worst. Import sucks, air sync is horrible, auto connects to every USB device phone or not. Junk
I posted a review yesterday saying I couldn't recognize my songs even using the scan local media option but it was after all just my phone's settings. I apologise. I love this app and can't wait for more updates
I have the basic and is very easy to work with. Sounds good. Would like to upgrade but $9 is too much. Also, it records my phone calls and is no setting to stop it?
The database rebuild is a little cumbersome. Used to be able to go through podcasts like an album but this was removed in recent release.
I am considering switching media player to this for the airplay functionality but the interface leaves a lot desired. Is there a way to enable a playlist for podcasts or even have it autoplay the next podcast? Having to go into the app every 15->30 minutes for shorter podcasts is very dangerous while driving. This might be an option with the paid version and wanted to make sure before i dropped money on it
Please add an alarm clock for airplay :) Airplay is good for playing audio to airport express, however it's not yet able to airplay videos to Apple TV, or play videos on your tablet with sound sent to airport express or other device. The latter would probably require some audio delay feature.
I haven't experimented enough yet but so far the app has downloaded all my iTunes music to my Android and only had minor hiccups that were my own fault. The upgrade made it even better.
Will not play my music. I upgraded thinking it would help. It was just a complete waste of $8.99
Plays music and plays it well. Like the audio book feature. Like the online radios. Like the stability. Dislike the need to manually refresh a folder to see newly added files.
I needed my itunes playlists to play on my android. It does what i wanted so I'm happy. I haven't tried the other features it has so can't comment on that. I like the airsync feature. Helps me avoid fumbling with the phone cables.
Been using this app for years and it's great. The interface is simple and clean which is what I like the most about it. The only thing I wish they added was the ability to show all songs by an artist on a single page, list view, and have it be grouped together by album and track listing. Otherwise, good app
Best app I could find to stream to my Apple gear. Shame the volume is a bit erratic
Last update totally ruined podcasts, can not manually delete and won't play new downloads. Have this app a 2nd chance, there are better out there.
This is the only app I found that is able to airplay music to Apple TV 4K. The only thing that is keeping me from giving this app 5 stars, is that it lacks the ability to airplay video. I really hope that is coming soon.
I've been looking for a way to import my iTunes playlists onto my Android phone for a long time, with no luck, until I finally found this app. I even contacted Samsung support for help because I could import my music, but I couldn't find a way to import my playlists. This app lets me pick the specific playlists, songs, artists, and albums that I want to import to my Android from iTunes. I wish I had found this sooner!
Responsive and elegant music player, but the asking price for additional features is too much, some of those features are available in other free players and some are useless for many people. I suggest the devourers split the features and sell them at 99 cents each, and combine them into bundles with a discount.
I have DoubleTwist Pro, and it worked great when transferring my iTunes library from my iPhone to my new Android phone, including metadata and even playlists and (most) album artwork, so for bridging the iOS/Android gap, I give it 5 stars. HOWEVER (and DoubleTwist devs please take note), the app is not 100% when using with Google Assistant in Android Auto. If DoubleTwist is selected as the music player it will respond to some basic commands (well, I think one basic command: "play [all/my] [music/songs]"). It also won't shuffle, but keep the same queue despite accepting the voice command or manual toggling of the shuffle button on the head unit. You have to disconnect and shuffle manually on your phone. And if you ask for an artist it switches to awful Google Music Play. That's probably due to a lack of DoubleTwist-specific commands for Google Assistant. Can you provide a complete list of voice commands? Or maybe create app-specific commands that won't cause Assistant to jump apps? Like "Play artist [ARTIST]", etc. Overall I give 4 stars for Android Auto integration so this review should really be 4.5 stars. Great app, and looking forward to Android Auto improvements!
Support email is unresponsive. Upgraded to Pro for Airplay functionality, but video is unsupported. No reply from developer.
I'm a fan of this app for listening to podcasts but I can't figure out how to create a Playlist. The older version of Doubletwist was much easier to drag the podcasts into the order that I wanted. Can anyone explain how to put my podcasts into a customized order?
Well I used to love this app a lot, listening music was just awesome from doubletwist BUT after updating this app i am not enjoying the output anymore.Previous version equalizer was perfect ,in this update i am not enjoying bass effect ,clearity and ease of use.I am using android 8 in htc 10,i wish if can get back with older version.Do something doubletwist
All I want is a music player that will play my continuously-mixed albums gaplessly, to Chromecast. But the trial version of this app doesn't permit gapless playback or casting, and I'm not prepared to pay £8.99 to find out whether it works. I've tried too many music apps that claim to do it but don't.
It works and plays the music the way it's meant to sound without making me use some equalizer and haven't run into any glitches so far what more do you want
Internet radio stations take forever to load and sometimes fail even when the same station works in vlc. Even the Favorites menu takes a long time to populate. Since Oreo update I can no longer open the app from the home screen widget.
So, I think the app is nice. One featurr that I'd really like to have is the option to set which window to have on as default when opening the app, and another would be is to set a "Library" folder as an option, instead of just getting all audio files in the storage. Other than that, so far not bad.
Having problems syncing my playlists from iTunes, says it sync all the songs but some missing. Been like this for over a year now on multiple devices and I've always updated the devices...
My saved favorite radio stations but for one dissapers every time i exit the app,and open it again. Also no grid view in the app like in podcast republic. Just a list view. Have requested a refund have heard nothing back yet.
This app has worked flawlessly for me. My iTunes library, including artwork and playlists are now on my Android device. I would have paid for it had I known it was going to be this easy. Living the podcasts and the radio functions too!
Extremely improved app! Dark theme relaxes eyes. Exceptional music reproduction and excellent clarity and crispness ... even through my speaker mounted on the rear of the smartphone. Projection of instruments and voice diction is very good. 5 stars.

Pretty good. Nice to see it is supported years after release. I bought the in-app pro features and am confused by the separate app 'pro'... is it any different? My main dislike is the artist page showing random band photos. If it was album artwork it would be more recognisable while browsing. Otherwise a well thought out and feature rich music player.
