Packing List

Just installed and it's very simple to use. Like being able to customize categories as well as luggage. Easy to edit. Minus one star because the Active checkmark when unchecked doesn't seem to do anything but Gray out the item. It still counts towards the category total and won't let the category turn green unless the all items are checked off, including inactive items. What's the point of marking something inactive?

I found it unusable. Could not work out how to create a list based on the pre-filled templates: the help file gave instructions that did not work on my phone.

This is the best packing app because it lets you sort many different ways: Alphabetically, by location, by luggage or create your own sort. Neither packPoint, luggage checklist, pack the suitcase, or packKing offer any type of good sort.

Awesome and very handy for my trip organization. U can edit all the lists or create new ones. U can also put the weight of ur clothes for better weight control.

This is the first app I update before vacations and weekend getaways! It also saves my Florida and camping list so that i don't have to "reinvent the wheel" every time! The master list is great for reminding me of the things I would probably forget to add if it weren't right in front of me!

Have used this for years

After update of backup location folder, it seems like my test list is not disappearing anymore. I will keep testing to see if the update has fixed the problem. Putting one star back on for now;; I've had this app for several years. I lost all my lists. Read some of the recent reviews and thought to give it some more time. Today I lost my new list again, right in the middle of trying to use it. My phone is running Android 4.3 with no new updates. Gonna uninstall for now.

I made some negative comments about the color scheme. They immediately responded, much quicker than I have, and told me how to fix it. I decided to upgrade to the paid version. Does everything I need.

Love the ability to make my own lists

Just what I was looking for. Wish you could add icons for new Locations but that's a minor issue.

This was a good app, did everything I wanted of it. It allowed me to customise my packing lists and create lists for different occasions. All was well until an update wiped out ALL my lists. I have searched all over my devices to no avail and now I read that l'm not alone in this. Take my advice and keep copies off your devices. This is now beyond a joke, I back my list up, but when l came to use it this time, guess what? It had gone AGAIN. But this time it will not open any of my backed up copies. Using another xml viewer I can see that everything's still there but the software will only restore half the items. I'm sorry but it's coming off.

Hard to find stuff

I created multiple lists using this app, e.g., Grocery, Costco, Walmart, Errands, etc., in addition to a packing/travel list. I spent quite a bit of time developing my customized lists, which were very helpful. However, yesterday when I opened the app ALL my lists are GONE!!! I am a very unhappy camper. I would give the app itself 5 stars for functionality, but only one star now that I have no lists. Update: Major kudos to the developer who worked with me via multiple e-mails to trouble shoot the problem. As a precaution against future mishaps (which may have been a glitch in my phone, not the app), I upgraded to Packing List Full & the cloud connector ($2.50 total), so now my data is on my phone AND in the cloud. A great investment. I'm a happy camper. This app is awesome!

Lost everything after update !!!

Oops, I have full version, but free worked fine) Love this when I have a trip! No more losing a paper list. :-) I don't travel that often so I uninstall it between trips, but definitely great.

The best app to pack :)

I've used this program for a long time, recommending it to many. The latest update leaves it hopelessly broken for almost a month? Where's the update? Yes, the update page warns of data loss but that warning is seen only when manually updating. Why not pull the update until the issue is fixed? Now to find a replacement app.... Am EXTREMELY disappointed.

I read the reviews for a large number of packing list apps and tried a few of the most highly rated ones. Some looked really ‘attractive’ but were rather limited in functionality and others would not allow editing of certain fields once they had been entered. Then I tried Packing List by DotNetIdeas. It may not look as ‘polished’ as some apps, but its functionality is far superior. All fields can be edited. The app takes a little getting used to - but is really worth putting in the effort. You are given a “masterpackinglist” as a starting point for developing your own. The “Generate List/Mass Change” mode is powerful for copying all or part of a list to make a new one or to add items to an existing list. The ability to add weights to every item (including luggage) is really useful. The app can then track the total weight for each piece of luggage - great when trying to keep within weight limits.

What good is a personalized packing list that's been lost by the app that created it. Don't recommend.

I have list down three times now my packing list and it keeps deleting it! Really useless app. You don't even deserve a star...a negative star perhaps!

Lost my list twice in a week

I am deleting this app because it is always erasing my individual list and I am tired of remaking it. Never used to have that problem til now

Hard to find stuff

When I first got this for traveling it was great, but now it keeps deleting lists I create whenever it updates.

I was suggesting this app to everyone. That stops now. I have lost all of my lists 3 times in 2 days. Yes, after the first time I backed them up, but I should NOT have to restore all of my lists more than once in a week. Consider me a frustrated former user.

This app used to be perfect not only for travelling but as a shopping list. Now its completely useless! Wiped out my lists not only during the initial update but after I created new lists!?! Fix whatever you broke please!

This app seemed perfect for me. With an ailing mother who lives in Mexico I was thrilled to be able to make a list that I could follow if I have to go at a moments notice. The flaw is that lists will only save to an SD card. Android 4.4 will not allow saving to an SD card. Therefore this app is useless, so sad.

... and it has suited my needs admirably, however, it doesn't support my tablet as well as my phone, and I'm finding that another app is doing what I need and more right now. I do like the weight function on this, but currently, that usn't very useful for me since I am not flying a lot.
