Donkey Republic bike rental

A completely seamless experience - will use donkey republic in every city I can!

This is THE most convenient way to rent bicycles in Berlin. The ability to extend the rental time via the app was fantastic. The bluetooth lock/unlock feature is great & quick, and there are heaps of drop off points conveniently located. The bikes themselves were better quality and lighter than the London 'boris bike' and even had back wheel brakes (unlike some from other dodgy shops).

I've seen these bikes pop up around Budapest and wanted to try it out as an alternative to Mol Bubi. App works fine, but the prices are insane. 7 Euros for 2 hours? Apparently, this is exclusively for tourists because that is impossible on local wages. Crazy. [8/7] Thanks for the response Sabina! I look forward to your subscription model. Used it in Copenhagen for a day. Decent bikes, did their job smoothie. However, it's was quite expensive, compared to other local services, so we switched to another provider the next day. App very easy to use, but had problems during end of rental process, which took some time to resolve.

Great system. Hired two bikes in Copenhagen and worked a treat. Locked and unlocked numerous times all day with no issue. Look forward to using again

Too expensive... I could buy a good bike every week at that price!

Although the prices are reasonable, the bikes are often broken and the app frequently fails to actually unlock them at all.

Great in Berlin. Excellent price. Will be looking for it in Amsterdam and Barcelona

Simple and easy to use interface

Great app, and easy to use. I used it in Copenhagen and the price were decent and usually lower compared to other cycle providers. I don't really understand the negative comments - everything works great and it might need a bit of time to get used to the interface but at the end of the day it's simple to use and does everything that it's meant to!

Diabolical. Bikes were broken. Couldn't swap them, couldn't end the rental as the system wasn't working either. Support close at 5pm so noone to contact.

You must return from point of use. Flex returns do not work and are not available! PUT THAT IN BOLD PRINT PLEASE! Would give it five stars if Flex returns was a real thing.

Everything worked great with the first bike but the second one's lock would not lock without rebooting the phone. Restarting the app, Bluetooth or GPS didn't help. Only rebooting the whole phone and locking the phone with the app released the lock so that the lever could be pushed down and lock the lock

Good cocept, but Bluetooth didnt work with OnePlus 3

Super simple to use in barcelona. App was easy and worked flawlessly. Even with multiple bikes rented at the same time

Worked perfectly until we tried to return it, took ages as it said we were 1 minute from the bike stand despite being at the stand and it wouldn't let us end our rental.

The app is very misleading. The app curtails the reservation an hour shorter than 24 hours, so you get charged for another 24 hours since you're late. And the unlock/lock mechanism fails often.

Best bike rental app around. Only thing is you need phone battery and mobile data.

Costs €5 extra to return it somewhere different to where it was picked up. Not very useful.

Website said £12/day in Oxford but app says £15. In the UK we call this false advertising.

I'd like an option to pay per hour and leave the bike at a different location.

WARNING: Do not use either the app or the bicycles or both !!! It will cause you tremendous issues!!!! The app doesn't show you the proper place where you're supposed to give the bicycle back. It shows you a place where you apparently might give back your bicycle, but the actual place of return is around 600 meters far away. It's just pretty annoying!!! In addition sometimes you attend to lock a bicycle but it just doesn't work. Very sad experience which caused me and my friends quite a lot of trouble. My recommendation: Just stay away from this offer!!!

Rented bikes in copenhagen. The lads were great. Definitely recommend as an easy bike rental service

Rented 2 bikes in Copenhagen for a day. It was 60dk per bike per 24 hours which was a lot cheaper than rental shops or the white city bikes. The whole locking and unlocking the bike via your phone is good too. Would use again and recommend!

This service was very easy to use and was quite a bit cheaper than other bike rentals in the city. We had no issues with our bikes and the staff were very helpful and quick to respond when I had a query about extending the rental

Meh. Appen fungerer sådan set meget godt, men der er nogle ting jeg ikke kan lide ved den. For eksempel, så tvinger appen dig til at overføre mindst 50 kroner til din konto. Det vil sige, at hvis du bare vil have cyklen i 20 minutter, skal du stadig overføre mindst 50 kr. til din konto. En anden ting er at denne app ikke fungerer så godt i steder ned dårligt internetforbindelse.
