This App does not work

Company takes unusually high percentage of what you make. I would hope they wise up to this or they will be replaced by a competitor. App does not work as well as web site, and is harder to navigate, but does make sending pictures easier. As a whole this is a good idea, and makes some things more convenient for dog sitters and owners, but they have a lot of bugs to work out.

Edit as of 5/15/17: There is now a new update that apparently fixes the issues. I have used it for a couple of hours, with no problems. As dogvacay and rover are trying to combine forces, the DogVacay app update has caused a lot of issues. It doesn't work on many devices, making it harder to send picture updates. I emailed the company and got a response right away. They are working on it. In the meantime, I have to tell owners that I can not send them videos, and the pictures will be limited. Remember, it is an option to send picture updates through the automated email send daily by dogvacay. I will review his review when the problems are resolved.

App doesn't work. Opened app and it flashed to info about rover then couldnt register as new client. Option was not there.

Way better than the Rover app!

Love this app! Not only have I built my own petsitting business with their help, but I have gotten bookings almost immediately! I would highly recommend this app to anyone who loves animals and wants to be their own boss! I would also recommend this app to anyone looking for care takers for their pets. Everyone i have encountered on this app has also loved it!

Same issues as others, as soon as update installed the app won't open on my Nexus. Says "unfortunately Dog Vacay has stopped". Can't seem to find a way to revert to the older version either. Please, Dog Vacay, triple check for bugs before releasing a new version! I also have dog stays in progress. I would remind others that you can always access the info from a desktop or your mobile browser in the meantime before they get it fixed. Can't send photos though for current Vacays on the desktop or mobile browser pages.

This app was FLAWLESS for me until the most recent update. Like many others, it's become unusable and crashes immediately upon opening. If fixed, I'll be happy to return my rating to 5 stars!

Used to be helpful for running my DogVacay business. Loaded into Samsung Tab A and it does not send photos to my guests. Very disappointed that new tablet can't be used to send pictures with this app. This latest update 1.5.3 still won't let my Samsung tab A send photos and worse yet stopped working on my Moto X cell phone with Android 5.1

This app is a great idea! The only problem I've personally had was scammers. I almost lost money because of it. Just be careful!!

App crashed after update, I've made 3 calls to Dogvaycay for help, each time put on runaround, reminded them that I've made them hundreds of dollars and that in 3 days have yet to talk to a tech. My app still crashing on my moto x. Dogvacay really is sucking at this point App updated yesterday now won't open. Crashes when trying to open. Now totally useless. Freaked as I have 5 dogs pending and no app!!! Called customer service and felt like I got pushed around so can't even get help for up to 48 hours which could cost loss of income. Also, the email they give bounces back

Dogvacay has been amazing for me. I started out as a part time sitter but now am full time as business bloomed especially over the Spring and Summer as that's when most people go on vacation and need pet sitters. The app makes everything more convenient as I'm constantly getting new request weekly for dog sitting. Would recommend to everyone.

I used to LOVE this app/website. I chose it specifically over Rover because it was more user friendly. I had such a hard time with Rover. And now that they are combining, I am done dog sitting. I will not go through the hassle of Rover.

Good app, bit messaging needs to be improved. If you voice type or hit the back button, it deletes the entire message that you were typing.

After the update yesterday I'm unable to open the app or receive ANY notifications!!! Please fix ASAPLY!!!!!

Dogvacay has been amazing. Really has inspired me to continue my education to learn more about how to better serve this pups!

Patience is key but it does work... Beautifully! It takes a little time to get things set up and running and once you do, it is a waiting game. Once you finally land your first client on DogVacay and get a great review (which is extremely important), your momentum picks up. This app works great and actually WORKS to get you clients. Like any good business, it takes time to build up your reputation and gain exposure in the market but once you do, it is well worth it. Patience is the key! Great app!

Since I now dog walk and board pups as my main source of income this app has helped me in keep up with my customers much easier and mobile while out. I just wish they would allow us to give it a custom notification noise so I could tell more easily when this app goes off.

Please enforce dog sitters to keep their schedules up to date; I tried to book 2 sitters, both of which appeared to be available during the period I requested only to get a message saying they weren't available. Very frustrated first time user, and will be looking for an alternative.

DogVacay is great! We frequently host other dogs which gives our young German Shepard a constant flow of playmates. She's tired and better behaved and we get payed for it.

I am trying to host and it says I'm now a host and to read and accept terms and conditions, so i read and clicked all the boxes but when i hit accept, nothing happens. It just stays on that page and won't let me in the rest of the app

App is great, sitters are not. One never responded to my email and the other never showed up. Very disappointed.

This app has been very unreliable for me as a host. I have a dog that I walk on a regular basis through DogVacay reservations and the app has crashed on me multiple times while trying to send photo updates to the owner.

It's an ok concept for housesitting and petsitting, but it's impossible to search for current or future assignments and people looking for petsitters have to contact you. You can't pick and choose which jobs to apply to like other services, which I find better than sitting around waiting for a job opportunity that may never come. Also they recommend free background checks which is nice, but they require you to share your social security number. I find that dangerous, so the background check is useless for me. I probably won't be using this app or service much in the future.

DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!!!!! Im known for my unconditional love, dedication, care, and passion for animals. With over 800 volunteer hours at local shelters and my continuous donations and efforts to help any and every animal dog vacay has said im "unsafe" and i cant be on the dogvacay site. My instagram is 80% shelter animals im caring for, im at the shelter almost everyday, all i do is care for animals i would never do a thing to hurt any animal. Ever. Yet im somehow claimed "unsafe"? DONT EVEN BOTHER WITH THIS SITE, ITS A WASTE OF YOUR TIME. THEYLL KICK YOU OFF FOR NO REASON ONCE YOU START GETTING A LOT OF BUISNESS. My suggestion, just make your own site.

I have left my dog twice now with the same sitter I've found through dogvacay and i am so pleased. My dog had such a great time playing with the home owners dog and you could tell she was well cared for. Sierra was happily content and relaxed upon my return. You could tell she had been well exercised too. The site and booking process were so easy to navigate that it made the whole process of finding a dog sitter pleasant. I am so glad I found this app. Thank you.

Great service! I usually get responses within 24 hrs. Found it difficult to find how to leave a review but after digging I was able to find it.

I love DogVacay. It's the perfect way to have a pet around without taking complete responsibility (I mean the Vet). I only wish there was a way that I could remind my past guests to leave a feedback for me. I got no rating on my profile just because they didn't leave any.

I have recently set up to be a sitter to help other owners feel more comfortable while they have to leave their loving buddies for work or travel. The app on my phone is very handy to receive prompt connections to people. The insurance and liability that is included in the service is a great feature to have, especially for first time sitters and clients. The ability to learn about the animals before accepting a job is good. As some cases may require much more attention, and thus requires price adjusting. So far the whole system dog vaycay has created is pretty awesome..

I have used this app a few times and loved how easy and user friendly it is. I normally use a lot of filters n it works great. Highly recommend it. Good job guys

Love DogVacay! Customer service is amazing, app helps me book business any time, anywhere! Few features are still on my wish list, but company is constantly improving the experience, so I have no doubt they will be coming, soon!
