DNSet for Android
Well just another victom of what apparently is a huge IPv6 issue between Android Lpop and Comcast Xfinity. Thank goodness I found a link to this app over at Phandroid. Way to go Devs! Now its time to run some speed tests and see if there are any differences with this app on and off. Thanks for the app!
If your new galaxy is crawling on wifi even though speed tests are fine, download this app. You also may want to turn on developer options and use legacy DHCP. For some reason android is having ipv6 issues, so it fails back to ipv4. That's why your wifi works and your bandwidth is fine but your phone is slow. Thanks dnset!
For whatever reason, WiFi speeds on my gs6 were abysmal while my lte/4g was working fine. Used this app to change to Google dns, now my WiFi is back up to speed on my gs6. Only issues I have is that it seems to time out after a few minutes. Closing it seems to not work, even when going through running apps. It would be nice if the key icon was invisible while this thing is running. Other than that, I have full wifi speed on my gs6.
Lots of controversy over whether and how much browsing data this app collects. Seems fishy that there is no off switch. Developers should really address this issue. I won't recommend until issues addressed.
Helps workaround the ongoing Xfinity/Android wifi issue. However, in order to stop the VPN, I need to go into the advanced system settings of my phone and disable it. There is no way to disable it by clicking on the notification or even opening the app. Please fix and I will give 5 stars
Finally able to connect to the WiFi at work. This fixed my lag in processing websites. Very please with the app so far. Going to watch how if affects battery life, but right now.. Very pleased with this app!
I never review apps but I felt like I needed to with DNSet. Lollipop screwed my phone up along with many others and my biggest complaint was the Wi-Fi was slow and I couldn't receive notifications while on Wi-Fi, thanks to this app that is FIXED. THANK YOU DNSet.
I dont know how or why, but Holy S*** it fixed my WiFi issues. Super fast again! I have Comcast internet and it been slow since Lollisuck loaded. Works perfect. I hope there isnt some security issue.....
I'm using ASUS Zenfone Go 4.5. I downloaded this and it runs well. My internet speed seems to speed up but i can't close this app. I can't find the notification to click so that I can turn it off on my phone but it displays the logo of the app that it is still functioning. What should I do to stop this app from running all the time? You devs should keep updating this app from errors and make it better. I've checked the date of last update of this app and it's almost 3 years since the last update. Wake up.
I got a new Moto G running Android Lollipop and ran into the WiFi problems that nearly every Lollipop user has suffered. I tried everything: clearing my cache partition, changing the channel on my router, and nothing worked. This app, though, worked, and now, finally, my WiFi is fast, like it should be.
Just downloaded it and can't wait to use this app. But it is dissapointing that it doesn't work even when I already tapped the 'start' button multiple times. I hope it will get fixed soon. Thank you -Samsung Galaxy E5
Couldn't use wifi at all. I was loosing my mind, was going to return phone after a couple of days. Did a little research and came upon this app. Couldn't be happier, WiFi is blazing fast and have no issues. If you want to log out you have to do through settings under applications. Shout out to the developers.
Got my new LG G4 and my wifi experience was a total disaster, the only solution I saw was to keep resetting the router - which is stupid - and then this app was in the search results. Wow! Lightning speed, like old times!
If you're experiencing very slow Wireless Internet connection speeds with your device, while everything else in your house works fine, you need to get this app before resetting or changing settings on your router. F**k lollipop.
There is one place that my phone will not connect to Wi-Fi but everybody else phone connects. My wife has the same phone an she as no problem connecting. Will this app fix this problem?
The sole reason why I'm using this is due to the Lollipop x Comcast bug. The bug makes Comcast IPv6 WiFi slow to a crawl. This app temporary fixes that by forcing the WiFi to IPv4. BUT in doing so prevents me receiving legible text and calls becomes the new problem. Which seems like an easy fix. Just turn the app off BUT there is no off button. Thus making me resort to restarting my phone everytime. I would not recommend this for phone users BUT would recommend it to tablet users.
Your app is a lifesaver! My Verizon Galaxy S 6 WiFi was so slow under any and all conditions that it was unusable! With this app I can use my WiFi again. Thank you!!!
Not a great app. The no root feature is the only pro here. You are still lovked out of your freedom to choose. You are routed thru googles name servers and cant change this.
This is the only app that fixes the dns/vpn issues I have with lollipop and my home wifi, I've tried dozens of methods and other apps but this is the only thing that works. Would be even better without the need to have it always open.
Now iv got it again and it won't work at all when I hit the start button or even automatic start it just disappears and then nothing not key at the top or anything just a waist of space but I want to keep this app it helped a lot until this please fix it and I give 500 stars lol
Although it fixed my wi-fi issue. A malware known as tradeexchange has hijacked my router DNS settings, this app helps me to browse but I don't know whether using this app is safe or not as it monitors my Internet traffic
My note 4 WiFi speed slowed down dramatically with the 4G router I'm using. Unable to upgrade the router I thought I was just going to have to deal with slower WiFi with face book and many other apps. With this app I have seen a big chance in speed using my face book app. Awesome!
Recently got xfinity internet and it works great on my laptop but my Galaxy S6 was very slow when connected to the network. Read online that the OS for Galaxy's sometimes have a problem with xfinity causing them to be very slow. I did some research about it and was pointed to this app and now no problems! Thank you!
I cannot send MMS when active. Also, there is no built in disconnect button as advertised (I have to manually go to settings and Force Stop the app to disconnect). Besides that it works and really helped my S6 with wifi issues, but I would really like for the MMS issue to be fixed.
This app definitely works, only problem is there is no actual disconnect button. You have to manually go into application manager and force stop the application. Add a disconnect button and I will rate it a 5. Fixed my Galaxy Tab S and some what fixed my S4.
Had to update my review for the s6 edge while the notification on my lock scrren is annoying, rejecting phone calls was actually caused by the advanced calling feature, not this app. My wifi is now working super fast and calls and texts are coming through like a champ...thank you.
Fixes my internet at home since my phone doesn't work with my comcast internet. But now I can't text or call! What the hell! Why can't they fix this?
Once I got my Samsung Galaxy S6 wifi was crazy slow, to the point of unusable. Once I installed this app, all is good. It works perfectly, always. My only gripe, which is very picky, is on the lock screen the app has a banner appearing saying it's active. Maybe a minor issue, but one I'd like to see gone.
It fixed my WiFi issue but falsely says you can turn it on and off but there's no way to turn it off
So use at your own risk. I mean, your entire traffic goes through a 3rd party.
It definitely gets my connection working smoothly. My only complaint is that it randomly turns itself off all the time, even though I have it set to auto start. So, when I see I'm getting nowhere on my browser, I know I have to go to the app and start it again.
I recently upgraded to an LG G4 with t-mobile and was wondering if it was my phones fault that everything was so slow. But it turns out it wasn't and this app helped me a lot. Web pages now load in an instant and I don't have to wait 30 seconds for my twitter feed to load. Thank you!
Sorry but no disconect bottom so... somehow it breaks my phone. Also didn't work... still can't open the blocked site.
I don't know what kind of wifi magic this app uses, but the second I connected to it, all my videos started loading again. I've had it running for 2 weeks now and I haven't had a single problem since. 5/5 Would cast again.
Troubleshooting this issue about my Note4 with Verizon and Comcast for over a month did absolutely nothing. Short of getting a static ip and changing my dns by paying for a "business account", I was at a loss. Then I ran across this app, and gave it a try... I mean, nothing else worked. Boom. After having suffered for two months, having to pay tons in data overage fees, and spending countless hours arguing with Verizon and Comcast, this single app fixed all my problems. Any comcast rep out there, "Fsck you, buddy." Cheers!
The app works when you start it. However there is no way to disconnect it. Force stopping it works sometimes, I usually have to reboot my whole phone. I have to disconnect it sometimes because my phone is on the same Wi-Fi as my Exchange Server. Therefore I can't use an external DNS server. If I was able to turn it off easily, I would put five stars. The directions lie, there is no disconnect option.
I just bought a new Galaxy 5 Note and was having trouble with my home wi-fi. I spent hours trying to fix it.... came across this app, fixed immediately! I recommend it highly if you are in the same boat.
It seems that Xfinity Gateways with IPv6 truly hate my LG G4, constantly disconnecting the internet connection and then coming back, even on Marshmallow. This app fixed this. I am now back to using my 170mbps connection as fast as it should be! Either Google needs to get their act together with IPv6 (they don't even support dhcpv6...), or Comcast.

My note 5 and S6 are only a week old and we were getting ready to sell the phones because nothing (websites, facebook, youtube, etc) would load while on wifi. If it was regular data, it would be fine. Anyway, after trying everything (clearing cache, resetting modem /router, searching several Samsung forums, etc) I found mention of this app and I can't believe the speed after installing! Seriously. I don't know anything about phones and connectivity or how this app works, but it works, and I'm happy!!
