The Dallas Morning News

The problem of hopping around whenever returning from a story to the list of stories has been mostly fixed. There is now a new problem: when returning from a story late in the list, you return to the wrong place in the list, several stories too high.

The developers of this app seem to be a bunch of amateurs. Every time you go back from an article the list keeps jumping while ads load I presume. It is also slow to go back which leads to me hitting back twice which takes me out of the app. Re entering the app loads from scratch. I suggest the developers check out an award winning swedish newspaper app for Aftonbladet.se. That is how a great app works.

In short, it's fine. Too many ads for paying a subscription, and not enough content to justify the price. I get full digital access to the WaPo, which has a better app, more content, and fewer ads for less than I pay for the DMN. I really would like to support local news, but this app makes it difficult at times.

Too many notifications. I turned them all off and still get a handful per day. With everything off there should be zero.

I want to see the newspaper as printed. This is a mess of a program.

Pretty much like any other news app...has it's quirks but overall OK

I can't even find the search function on this app.

Handy and easy.

Works well in general but I wish it had more customization. I HATE the latest change with Windows 8/10 style picture blocks filling up the screen for each section. Why can't I choose a list option? Or how about giving us a good search feature?

I recently subscribed to Dallas Morning News after the paywall was put up and so far I am happy. This app has been updated and functions properly. I prefer the ePaper format but the app is good for checking news throughout the day. Hope there is an ePaper app for Android coming!

Each version gets a little bit better. Keep on trying.. I subscribe to the paper edition to help support the production of the content.

This app does not allow me to see the entire paper as the regular Web version does. I cannot see the puzzles. It won't even allow me to open it & login on a Samsung Tablet.

I recently became a subscriber, and I've already gotten my money's worth. Excellent coverage of local news and sports.

Nice app but I prefer reading the ePaper for traditional feel.

Good resource for latest local stories, but still prefer to read the actual newspaper when I can, I guess I'm old school lol!

Haven't fully explored all features of app, but it's great to have DMN on my android and Ipad!

Great app for DMN. Smooth user interface, and compact for quick display of headlines and featured cover stories.

I've had this app for a very long time and now ...without notice it has switched to a pay service!? I used this app DAILY for news on the Cowboys, guess it's time to uninstall and use other FREE apps for my news. What a disappointment

Ever since I moved away almost 6 years ago, I've used your App to stay in touch with DFW. Your decision to charge for content saddens me, but I can get my DFW news elsewhere, for free.

Wow !! Are you guys really charging us now for the app ?? Fox 4 provides the same news and coverage yet they arent charging for their app. You all will lose a lot of faithful viewers.

I'm not paying for something I've had free for so long. Time to uninstall!!

Requires subscription? Time to uninstall. A shame too, because I really enjoyed this app. Response "hope you will purchase a subscription". DMN includes "North - South Gap" section, supposedly for occasional pieces on the vast level of income inequality in Dallas. Ironic, from an app & paper that poor people can't afford to read, due to cost. I guess it takes money to read about being poor.

I can't read the story because an ad pops up and there's no way to close it. You can give feedback on the ad, but it still covers the page. I might have considered subscribing, but to suddenly start charging without warning is typical. I've uninstalled, good-bye.
