This AVR app does not connect to my new Marantz NR1606 receiver. I would've thought Marantz would have a very good receiver app as I was always under the impression they were one of the premium brands. Apparently not Marantz... It would be nice if Marantz would Ante-Up and create a good AVR app for all their customers that spend Top Dollar on their product... Anyway, I am extremely disappointed at this point... What can you do Marantz...?!

I70%
by I####:

You would think that for such a high end product, that has had a lot of care put into it, could never allow such a disgusting app. Marantz should be embarrassed. Its has made me regret my purchase. They are clearly not as good as they sound

T70%
by T####:

Consider another receiver -- seriously. This app makes Marantz equipment essentially unusable. Consider buying from a company that understands software. FWIW... the last receiver firmware update actually made problems worse. Connections drop constantly. Usability is poor when there in a connection. Another frustrating problem is the complete inability for the receiver to shuffle when the request is made from Android. Making the shuffle request from iPhone or web works. Which is just baffling, why should the platform used to make the shuffle request even matter after the request is made?

L70%
by L####:

Worst app ever. Tried it on 3 phones, just garbage! I've sent a hundred crash reports, I stopped, no one reads them. Be prepared to re boot your phone a lot. My next receiver will not be Marantz.

T70%
by T####:

I've attempted to use the app a couple different times with no luck. I was never able to find my device with the app, even manually by ip. Today I realized that I had the wrong settings for the DNS server in my Marantz network settings. As soon as I corrected this to the proper address the app worked perfectly. S

A lot of bad reviews here says it all. Would think marantz would come up with somthing better than this. Very disapointing. Looking at there other apps its the same . May be a change away from marantz for the next system

T70%
by T####:

This app works well with my na6005 considering it's supposedly not compatible with it! There's even a message pops up saying this asking me to cancel. I just click no and carry on. Every time the same. V happy.

T70%
by T####:

Easily the worst app I use daily. Too many connection problems. App crashes every single time I start using Spotify. Would have bought another brand if only knew how bad the remote app was.

E70%
by E####:

Whilst this app gives access to most of the basic functions of my NR1506, I am disappointed that it cannot be used to adjust all the parameters in Setup. It does nothing I can't do more easily with the remote. Have now uninstalled the app.

B70%
by B####:

Rather an average app, but it works reliably with my M-CR610. Usability is a bit rubbish as it's essentially a copy of the on-device UI into the app, but it speeds up some functions (e.g. logging into Spotify). Would be nice to skip the unintuitive device selection on every startup.

T70%
by T####:

For spending so much money for a top of the line receiver, you would think that they would put as much in the app. The app is hit or miss to detect my receiver and the app is terribly designed.

T70%
by T####:

Terrible,Garbage! Never connects, what a pathetic app.... Marantz is just crap all round from my experience.

Q70%
by Q####:

This app has recently become quite usable for my purposes (i.e., listening to Spotify on my network player). The apparently recent addition of Spotify Connect support works quite nicely and lifts this from being totally useless to actually being pretty good. Thanks devs, much appreciated, keep it up. (Honor 9, Nexus 7 and M-CR510.)

T70%
by T####:

Couldn't connect to the amp or blu-ray and then hangs up and have to tap on the multi-screen button on my S7 and close all. Maybe I am just too dense. The amp and player are incredible. As so many people point out why build such great hardware and then have an app that is worse than useless?

D70%
by D####:

Coming from a yamaha network app, marantz need to step it up. Yamaha app was stable while marantz is unreliable. Not stable at all. One star!

T70%
by T####:

Needs better surround sound mode descriptions. It's clunky and weird; has a mobile web page feel. Please get up to date.

T70%
by T####:

For such an amazing receiver (SR7012), this app couldn't be any more the opposite. Poor performance and almost no utility.

L70%
by L####:

Rather don't install this app. Out of a sudden, I am no longer able to connect to my device. Many times, the app has stopped during the use. Setting are not saved..you always have to select from scratch.. Marantz please invest a some money to update the app.

T70%
by T####:

Had this app on iPhone and it worked reasonably with my amp. Now I have an Android and I get "device not supported". Really disappointed.

F70%
by F####:

From day one to current always have remote app connections issue finding the device. I even took the precaution of adding a performance tri-band gaming router for fast data transfer and signal range. But i don't play video games, just wanted to be safe than sorry. 90% of the time my NR1606 cannot find the device and for the past month i cannot connect to Pandora remotely or from the receiver. My opinion and conclusion is you equipment are one of the best, however this app aggravates me every time.

M70%
by M####:

I apparently am one of the few people who likes this app! The only thing which doesn't work well for me is the volume function. Everything else works with practically no lag but the volume just doesn't work with me. I would like to have this fixed and it would be perfect in my opinion!

M70%
by M####:

It works on my old s4 that is running lollipop, but my s5 has the marshmallow update and it keeps restarting the app when I select the av 7701 from the devices screen. ^^^ update ^^^ I did a factory reset of my S5 and this app works fine now. It was something with the phone that was messed up.

E70%
by E####:

Keeps crashing in the middle of an album, the favourite stations re-sort every second, making it impossible to select one & just a poor interface - I only have 1 device, why do I need to select it every single time? Half arsed attempt at making an app for not a bad amp.

W70%
by W####:

I can't find a way to pick from my favourite internet radio stations? I can add a station to favourites once it's playing, but then where do I find it next time?!

M70%
by M####:

Been using it for a while, all in all I'm happy. Does have it's issue moments, but what app doesn't. Always loads to the Settings or Device page though? Annoying. Should just default to last preference. App has issues if u don't leave it running on screen also.

M70%
by M####:

The latest firmware update has restored this app to (almost) what it should be. It's essential to work the device in a sensible manner, finding tracks by name from your chair by album and title. Save all your music from CD to FLAC (no loss of quality) and load onto a 128Gb flash drive. It's the end of sorting through racks of CDs for the track you want. Brilliant! So what's wrong with it? Occasionally it freezes and has to be restarted. Allow time between commands usually avoids this annoyance, be patient

M70%
by M####:

Nice player, shame about the app. Does nobody in D&M look at the ratings? Will Marantz/Denon ever get the finger out and do something? Sad to say that this is one of the highest rated D&M apps (@2.7 WTF?). Wrote with feedback. They didn't have the good manners to respond

M70%
by M####:

Looses connection too often and cannot connect. Marantz needs restart constantly. Very very annoying. Incredible that a reputable amplifier company chooses to not care AT ALL about their app. It's not the 90s anymore. People are dependent on functioning apps. It's annoying to the point where I kick myself for not having checked this out before spending big bucks on this. There's definitely better options out there. Please start working on this before you loose it all! Using sr7009.

M70%
by M####:

Poor responsiveness and outdated, cluncky interface. Hard to believe, but still the only official Marantz app for all it's networked devices. Tip: Check the Bubble uPnP app

M70%
by M####:

I'm using a Galaxy S3 and the app is inconsistent with my NR1504. Sometimes I try to browse the filesystem on a flash drive and it won't go through the menu. Let's face it. CD's are dead when you can have FLAC or 192khz/24bit studio masters on $15 flash drives that hold 64+gigs. I got the app because the volume buttons on my remote stopped working. The app won't replace your remote. Dear Marantz, I love the sound quality of your products, but your remotes need work. I can get up and turn the knob faster.

Y70%
by Y####:

The app is a bit slow and crashes fairly often. It does have a lot of good functionality, but I'm afraid that the level of support for the app will continue to be terrible, which so far it seems to be considering they have done little to improve it. Overall, D&M did a pretty poor job on an app that could have been much better if it were just more reliable. Since the remote app would be my preferred way to control my home media hardware, Marantz is a bit of a let-down. I would even consider buying a different brand of receiver to get a better app if I end up replacing my Marantz in the future.

M70%
by M####:

Useless. If your phone goes in power saving mode and turns off the Wifi, the AVR stops playing music! Marantz: because the remote matters.

M70%
by M####:

Can't even start to use this app, it wouldn't locate my device. Tried IP connection, that didn't work either. Rubbish

R70%
by R####:

Used to work great on my Note3. But a complete mess on my current phone. Also all the controls are now missing. Used to work my oppo bluray as well. What has happenee???

M70%
by M####:

Was working ok until upgrade to Android 6.0 on lg g3. Now keeps rebooting.

M70%
by M####:

When it works this app is great. But it won't work most of the time. It just never loads. So frustrating!

M70%
by M####:

Overall works all right. But it doesn't sort files from my nas by track number. That's a real pain...

M70%
by M####:

The app worked great, but was 1st generation so could do with a refresh version. However Marantz obviously think their amps arent built to last more than 2yrs as they have dropped app support for 2014 and older. Perhaps I should have bought an Amstraď

M70%
by M####:

Come on, it's been 2 years with this crappy app. That will the majority of people are on Android. Please hire an Android developer to solve this solvable problem.

R70%
by R####:

I dont use the pay services, but for internet radio and usb control its great, easy to save favorite stations, it lists the songs on the usb. I play music from my windows 10 media server, NAS, laptops, it shows album covers and organizes songs, works great, most of the time, sometimes it chokes, my phone has sent many crash reports (its an old samsung galaxy3 which has memory limitations). This software Needs an update.
