Worst audio experience I have ever had. Should have stuck with Onkyo. Bought AVR1100X because it appeared to have spotify app preloaded. NOPE! NO SPOTIFY. Cant even load Spotify. Have to have spotify on different device and stream. So, you need this crappy app that does jack crap. Need to have wifi on on phone or bt so drains phone battery. TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION OF A PRODUCT. Have to have 2 apps and either wifi or bt on to use. Anyone looking for a Denon AVR? Check curbside getting ready to set it out.

N70%
by N####:

Very poorly thought out. I've really tried to like it. Why do you have to go through the so many buttons just to select the ONLY connected receiver? And then do it again if the phone sleeps. Stay in the last screen used, please?? Need to find another choice.

X70%
by X####:

No longer works. Old one star review: This interface needs a major overhaul. I expected a lot better when I purchased my receiver. I suppose I should have investigated but I was just trusting denon to have something reasonable. Luckily, I can get a $35 chromecast and will probably endrun around this app before it gets updated. Maybe I'll be surprised and this app will be replaced before a workaround arrives.

by N####:

Been using this app for over a year and it has always worked well.. the Spotify integration desperately needs an update... will only do play lists on my denon ceol piccolo dra-n5 (been checking for firmware updates but no luck there either). On my new Android S7 the interface seems to hang and lag a fair bit (the app ran great on my galaxy s3, note3, tab, or s5)... also track text is insanely small on the S7... guessing it is due to locked dpi and the high res of the S7... Updates would make this app 5/5

by W####:

No clue how this app hasn't improved in functionality over the years, but it still looks like it was designed in 2011, and now my 3313ci cannot be found on the network more often than it can be. Even after going through network setup again, the problems persist. Consider a receiver from a company that places more emphasis on staying current with their app functionality. Or at least one that doesn't let their app become useless over time, and then releases a new app for newer receivers.

N70%
by N####:

This app has never been usable - I have had to use 3rd-party apps or the web interface of the 4520 amp. The latest version doesn't even connects. No interest of Denon to release any fix. Instead a new app for amps from 2015 and forward - an app with an even lower average vote than this. Never buy Denon if you need yo use their Android apps - they are only released to check a checkbox in the product datasheet. And never expect Denon to fix toothing issues.

by K####:

Works just fine on my network. SiriusXM AND ALL the standard inputs work just fine... And the app is easy to use. Just be sure you're all on the same network. Phone will be wireless side of your router. Check DHCP settings, encryption, etc. I'm loving not having to program a universal remote!!!

N70%
by N####:

I only use this to control the volume in a multi-zone system from wherever I am in the house. It does the job, but it's annoying to have to constantly wait for it to detect devices, then select the device, then click to the "zones" screen, especially if I need to turn down the volume real quick to take a call. To the developers -- could a future update please allow users to customize the home screen - I'd like to add zone volume sliders and remove things I don't use. I'm using this to control an X-3000.

M70%
by M####:

[Update] last update made app non-functional again... Update fixed constant crashes I was getting using the app. The app is an improvement over using a remote control and the on screen menus, especially when managing playback to different zones. It's also nice that I don't have to be able to see the TV/receiver in order to make selections. That said, the interface a bit clunky and navigation between areas is difficult, and only a subset of receiver functions are included.

N70%
by N####:

Hoping for a smoother and better app. Spotify doesn't work any more and Internet radio works quite random. Over all slow ui but probably because of the lousy firmware in the reciever. Denon 2113

R70%

How hard can it be for a company that produces Denon & Marantz to pay some decent devs to actually fix this bloody app? Surely can't be that hard to get the app to not loose connection every 10 seconds, refusing to find the receiver afterwards? An absolute mess to configure, works like an absolute pig when navigating through menus. Unbelievably messy work from a company that should know better. Using it for a Marantz 1506.

L70%
by L####:

I'll probably stay away from Denon on my next purchase. Amp is great but this app kills it's entire "connected" experience. You would think Denon/Marantz would hire some decent developers to fix this but with every year it gets worse. I think company is still stuck in the 90s. Shame...

U70%
by U####:

I had noticed that people had had problems with the app. not sure if it is because they have a different model ? I'm using the denon x2000 and the app is my new best friend everything working great. Great job sir ;)

K70%
by K####:

It does everything it's advertised to do... For about five minutes at a time. I have a Denon AVR X2000 recover that sounds fantastic, and my home media server connects to it flawlessly. But when I try to use the app to control it, I have to reset it almost every other song because it loses connection with the server or the receiver, or crashes outright. This app is an embarrassment to some otherwise really cool equipment.

N70%
by N####:

I have uninstalled this app because it keeps doing this. When I reinstalled this app it worked when the receiver was on and once I closed the app, the damn thing goes to media server and it can't even find my receiver by name but it comes up blank. Fix this app and make it actually work right, then I will change my review

N70%
by N####:

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it crashes (AVR-X1100). What a wonderful job, Denon! Improve it, please! It wasn't good already and it simply doesn't work with my receiver after this last update. Besides the terrible receiver, the worst app. Denon NEVER again.

U70%
by U####:

Excellent! Thank you Denon for finally getting the Pandora folks off their ass! We truly appreciate it. And the lag is gone! Super Happy. Now don't change anything.

N70%
by N####:

Denon app developers are an absolute waste of human life. Give an option to choose static/manual IP then we don't need to search the device again and again. Use your unused shiny brain a little bit.

N70%
by N####:

By far this is one of the worst app to control your amp remotely. It's so slow, most of the time it's faster to get up and to use the physical buttons on the amp. Moreover, checking my data usage I see the app used 167 MB of foreground data but 9.25GB over a 30 day period (bytes not bits)... Bottom line is: it sucks.

N70%
by N####:

This was suposed to be simple useful and easy to use remote app i was very happy and exciting when i saw this, but i was wrong, this is a easily said disaster, the only thing he find of my devices and components is my TV Philips, but there are no buttons there doesn't make sense it offers me Playlist very very confusing interface,And except the TV nothing else i can find,I own Denon Blu-Ray 3313UD and Denon AVR-1312XP Home Theatre Receiver,I'm sorry i don't want to be rude but this doesnt make sense to me...

Y70%
by Y####:

Can't get app to list files on shared medium - crashes each time I try. S710W lists them fine itself. Also will not allow me to change volume: I move slider, S710W volume does not change, slider in app pops back to original volume. Can't use app!

U70%
by U####:

Pandora will no longer work, failure and I will no longer purchase Denon products. Thanks for taking my money and ruining my day. A class action lawsuit seems appropriate for this failure.

N70%
by N####:

I am pleased to say that this app works great with my AVR-X2000 Denon receiver. I wasn't too optimistic while reading the reviews prior to downloading it. I hope that it can be modified to work for all the others who didn't have positive results. I am running my app on a stock Nexus 5.

N70%
by N####:

Awful Pandora interface. Stations uncontrollably scroll and don't allow you to change them. Having to go inside and change the station manually defeats the purpose of having a phone app.

N70%
by N####:

Where to begin. Besides the crappy look, slowness in response and the tendency to not react to a command.... it also messes up the favourites and scrambles them up in a random order every 3secs. Utter garbage.

N70%
by N####:

Frustrating ! When I have favourites on screen and choose one, the Favs menu disappears, and if I want to choose a different item from the Favs menu, I must go through a number of steps, each of which take several seconds. PLEEEEZE change the app to keep the Favs menu onscreen until the user chooses to dismiss it.

X70%

I'm glad my other Denon app crashed, I just installed this one and love it! Works fast with internet radio and interface is colorful and fun

N70%

I have the iOS version of this app and it works fine but this Android one doesn't. I have an AVR-4311ci.

N70%
by N####:

really a company like Denon in 2016 produce this rubbish, no wonder the company is going under. do they not realize that people buy a wifi enabled device so people can connect to it with wifi devices

P70%
by P####:

Very slow, lacks functionality, sadly my $400.00 Pioneer has better app capability. Very unstable. Frequent disconnects and latency issues. Almost blew my speakers as it jumped my volume to nearly max arbitrarily. Disappointed would be an understatement.

F70%
by F####:

Denon software, this and heos, leaves much to be desired. This app often does not find my Denon receiver though it's OK when it does. Even entering the IP address did not solve the problem.

H70%

Use to work real good but within the last month it quit. I've done hours trouble shooting and nothing. Other app maker's products are working, definitely problem with this app.

N70%
by N####:

Works great, need Android Lollipop material design as this UI looks very old fashioned and dated Denon! Also needs to support split screen features from Android N.

N70%

Installed this app on Nexus 6 and iOS version . iOS works great, this version.doesnt work as unsupported device msg appears

N70%
by N####:

On Spotify continually scrolls through play lists so that tracks always moving and not able to he selected. I really do hate this app. It is unusable

M70%
by M####:

This app is a disaster. When trying to play local internet stations (because the HD tuner is dead) or SirusXM, it continuously loops between the station and the folders. Once I get a station to play, the displayed text is so small I can't read it. Glad I paid $1300 (3313ci) for an AVR with broken features

J70%

Sometimes AVR crashes when MediaServer contolled by this App. Great concept, but still bugs EDIT 2016: App doesn't detect AVR anymore often. Please fix. EDIT: version 1.1.6 installed. Looks good up to now. Will update rating if OK.

flawless. set sound system up, connected to wifi, went ahead with the offered firmware for the networky box. powered down. powered up. app discovered the whole system so i can flip to phono woooo. dlna works perfect pulling song info to the stereo and album art to my phone. no issues whatsoever... i just wish i could have more than 8 'shortcuts' in the app main screen but hey, not complaining (stereo bits and phone as review title. router is dlink-dir615d2 running ddwrt firmware)

X70%
by X####:

I like using the app more than the remote for the avr e400. The app makes it easier to change sound modes than on the remote. The app also displays the input selections with the custom labels I chose making it easier to choose between them since my new input labels are reflected in the app vs the unchangeable buttons on the remote.
