Denon 500 Series Remote for Android
In Bluetooth mode it should just push the audio files to the receiver and not play them in the device then send audio output. The quality is bad that way
Works well, but the interface is nothing special
I love it
This app turns your Android into a remote control for your home stereo. It is leapyears ahead of fiddling with a point-at-receiver remote with buttons and no visual confirmation. So far, unfortunately, it does not support Android Portable Storage. The Denon AVR 5100 is great sound at a reasonable price.
Lots of issues that need to be resolved. Asking for permission to turn on Bluetooth at every start is the most annoying issue. Overall interaction with system Bluetooth configuration needs to be a lot more smoother.
Works great on my Motorola Nexus 6. I liked minimal design, basic functions and ease to use. Anytime I run the app on my phone it automatically turns on the receiver and that's great. It can not search in the tracks. Hope being added in next upgrade.
App just crashes over and over even though I can see Bluetooth pairing succeed on my phone and on the front of the receiver
quite some rom for improvement : add favourite/bookmark song add back to playlist instead of briwsinv tracks from root folder of usb stick no eq adjustment from bt remore .... others
Works most of the time but is buggy.
Amazing works this app
I can't get it to do much as a remote except adjust the receiver volume. At least it's free, and to me, that's about how much it's worth.
Why does it make bluetooth turn off after so many minutes?
It works fine byt app design could be improved
Awesome
Doesn't even launch. I mean literally WTF!! Please hire a competent programer. The App launching would be a good start. Lazy coding ^3 This is company's reputation we are talking about. Is Denon a company that can have an app that will launch? As of now, no.
I have a Denon AVR-591 and these jokers are telling me that it can be setup via WIFI. Are you kidding me do you even know what you are talking about!? Then I was like OK, maybe it's the wrong app I chose from these Jokers. So I tried the other one and now it tells me it's Bluetooth Compatible. I was like wow....really like I didn't know that if I press a magical button on my Samsung S-5 that it will automatically install Bluetooth on my AVR-591.
highest battery drainer on my phone. And I haven't used it in days
Didn't work on my AVR S500BT.
I was excited to have a Denon brand remote app since the Peel brand is no longer available for the Galaxy S 7 edge. However, there are some very basic issues with the remote I noticed right away. When you exit the app it automatically turns off your receiver. That means you have to leave it running in the background. However, if you turn off the receiver, say with my Xbox voice commands, then when you come back to the remote you have to repair by using the Bluetooth button on the Denon remote.
Apps ok but needs work. My main issue is the fact that the input always resets to Bluetooth on starting up the application, instead of keeping the last used input. Please fix this!!
There are so many basic flaws with this app that has been completely ignored since my first experience with it a year ago. For example, it asks you to turn on Bluetooth every time you start the app, even of it's already on. Just accept the permission once! Also, it immediately switches the amp to Bluetooth playback mode when you launch the app, even though you simply want to control the amp with the App (say, for volume). I really wish I stuck with onkyo. Their usability is sooooooo much better.
Useful, but echo sentiment re auto input switch to Bluetooth on start and exit. Annoying.
Won't connect to the receiver at all . It works with iTunes though. Android device development people, please fix this issue.
It's great except when it turns phone's Bluetooth off, and I have to turn app back on, then change back to radio when app switches receiver to Bluetooth.
App is very simple and easy to use, personally I need more function like option and setup buttons. Edit. I need sort by directory! ;)
I like the way it works, good for when you leave your remote somewhere you have to look for it.
Manage everything with remote app, including play music from the phone.
Not a particularly good app, but it gets the job done
This is the easiest Bluetooth app I've ever used. And, I've used Sonos. This far more convenient and user friendly!
I can't get it to do much as a remote except adjust the receiver volume. At least it's free, and to me, that's about how much it's worth.
And playing music from my phone. It used to allow everything....what happened
Very basic, would be great if you could integrate with music streaming services.
Why does it make bluetooth turn off after so many minutes?
Would like to see full remote functionality incorporated. Has all the basic features available. Setup was easy.
Works great on my S6. But it would be nice if you could choose default settings for the program when you turn it on.
Working excellent with Lenovo S856
Good to use on my beats pill that I connected with my denon home theater
Why does it cause the avr to switch to Bluetooth input on launch? I just want to use this as a remote (volume, input etc). It keeps interrupting what IL warding due to this. This shouldn't be how it is, we should have am option to keep the source the same on launch or choose our own. Unless until fixed for me.
Good app, but it keep interrupting a movie when I log in with Bluetooth (changes screen), that's way to much of a dealbreaker for me when all I want is change the volume with the phone. Too bad though cause I liked the app otherwise.

Like the app very well but wish the interface was a little more user friendly, and also it had the option to set the sleep timer. My receiver remote is the only way to do this and the app won't let me either which is annoying. And also how when ever I connect to use it like a remote it goes straight to Bluetooth rather than just stay on whatever HDMI I was using. Other than those things over all I like the other controls
