Denon Hi-Fi Remote for Android
When playing music from phone via DLNA, it disconnects from ceol n9 after a few mins of the phone being not touched. The Music app included with Android can play music via DLNA with no problems. There is no benefit to using the Denon app. It's a big disappointment.
Good app but buggy prefer the look and icons of other denon remote application some stations don't work eg bbc 5 live extra although these stations have no problem playing on tunein radio app ! Quite a few complaints about this app but denon don't appear to care. You can report crashes etc but no answer from denon
It only seems to play music without stopping when it stays open. Sorry but I cannot dedicate my phone completely to the function of remote control.
Internet radio commands in particular are very poor. Once a station/song is selected the menu disappears and you are stuck with the selected song. Only way to go back go the menu is to close the application and re-start.
Great idea but the app is awful. Worst app on my phone. Please fix very urgently .
Constant crashing, never sees my device (Denon Ceol), very slow. And the old app doesn't support my player.
On nexus 7 2013, latest fw, android 6, netowk =on etc etc, still had 3 crashes while playing 96bit content from usb. Ipad version much more stable
Randomly stops playing during a playlist, and crashes a lot. App hasn't been updated for ages. Won't be buying Denon again.
Works flawlessly with my Denon Ceol N9. Searching for internet stations is easy. LGG3
Not good. Frequently crashes. Totally unreliable when it's most needed.
Nice layout, shame it crashes so much.
Never function as expected
Useless. I tried this on two phones and a tablet. The app crashed on all devices, and they are the latest models. I would recommend to download the Denon Remote App instead
This app has potential, but is full of reliability and usability issues. It crashes a lot, is slow and unresponsive at times, and is just not that intuitive. Please improve it Denon!
Full of bugs, crashing regularly... I hope you will improve it
Seem to be working OK at the moment. No crashes. Slightly laggy. Use on my CEOL. Uninstalled previous app as totally useless. Really great.
Denon : please stop selling network readers if you have no IT skills for Android applications
Constant freezing and crashing renders this little piece of software a total misery to use. "Improved stability", "bug fixes"? Yeah right. How a premium brand like Denon can release this to its customers and expect them to use it is a mystery to me. Have deleted this app and have instead installed the Denon Remote App (which has less functionality but at least appears to be stable with fewer bugs).
Slightly better than generic Denon remote app, but might be better: yet faster, yet better ui. Still a lot to improve...
Works OK
Maybe you can add to this app. switch off time into the alarm, that would be great
This APP is way better than the Denon Remote App
Useless. I tried this on two phones and a tablet. The app crashed on all devices, and they are the latest models. I would recommend to download the Denon Remote App instead
Just crashes constantly
I have no explanation why this app is not excellent. I have the hardware and that's great, this however is wobbly and unstable, 20 crashes in 10 days; it lags so you accidentally double tap and that throws it into a flat spin; also it maybe intuitive but only to someone who plays 4 dimensional chess whilst tightrope walking . Shame it shouldn't be this hard surely. App updated to day so I'm crossing my fingers. It'd be useful when it does work which is about 50:50. No alternative :-(
So doesn't even appear. It just crashes. Magic.
Useless, crashes all the time. And if all stars in the galaxy are aligned and it happens to work for once it still is so bad that it is better to use 1 hour to search for the normal remote and use that instead.
The gui could be improved but apart from that it works fine.
Works on galaxy tab s but not always on galaxy s5.
Cannot stress how bad this app is!!! Plays a couple of songs and then stops for no reason, the control buttons disappear and it just decides to switch sources and wont let you switch back. This is when it's no crashing altogether!
This app is flaky. Drops connection randomly and crashes to often
Buggy, crashes, slow and that's when it works
At first I thought this was great as it found the stereo fast and displayed the info that was also on the stereo. I tried to change to Internet Radio but it went to Media Server. I looked over at the stereo and it really had gone to Internet Radio. The remote app, however was still showing Media Server. Every time I choose a different source the app went to Media Server although the stereo changed. Can't use. Disappointed.
I just can't believe this app hasn't changed in all this time. My Ceol 8 is not compatible with the app. So frustrating!
Play controls are now missing, queue state different between the app and the device, need to resort to the remote half of the time, what's even the point of this app? Why don't you hire a functional app designer and try again? EDIT: got the app to show play controls after wiping data, power cycling etc. Etc. Now it's even MORE ridiculous. The playback / pause button in the app is greyed out and when trying to use the remote, the unit says "not available". Power-off just to stop playback? This is UN-U-SA-BLE
It just wouldn't start, crushing constantly. Completely useless
...
Amazing that a company that is known for making premium products willingly releases such an aweful app.
It just doesnt work with android

Almost never recognises my player (Ceol N9) and when it does it can be relied upon to crash within a few minutes. Given its importance to things such as streaming from NAS and Internet radio it's making me consider returning the whole system. UPDATE: have now returned the system because of the poor app.
