You should make the app stable for marshmallow. Doesn't work very well for my s7

I downloaded this app for the Denon DSD 500 I recently purchased. For the 1st three days it was amazing. Now whenever I open the Local Music and scroll through the album list it crashes halfway trough. Awful. Needs a good update! A few days ago this was a 5 star instead of 3.

Downloaded this, and nothing! Not one function works... I can access the settings, the power button is illuminated, and when I click it, it says "do you change the setting to turn it on from this app?" Doesn't matter if you select yes or no, still doesn't bloody work...

Would like to be able to stream Spotify or Slacker. The Cocoon has terrible streaming/Internet radio options. Also, the App on my tablet limits the volume to 50 out of 100. My phone allows all the way up to 100.

Doesn't work all the time. Sometimes one needs to rescan the Cocoon multiple times before it detects the device and connect. Hope a quick solution is provided for it.

I dont know if it were the apps, or the cocoon itself that not smart (even I'm using both version for android and iOS) If the screen turn off/open the other app. Streaming music from phone will not keep playing the next track until you reopen the app again. While the cocoon itself is really annoy when I switch from dock to either online radio or local music streaming. COCOON WILL FREEZE!!? Need to change the mode and preset so many time before it working again. Easiest way is turn off and on again.

Doesn't play in the background. My phone will Dnla to my Xbox, which is 8 years old. My new Cocoon needs a terrible app. Surely this should pick up my existing m3u playlists??? It finds my music. It won't play continuously if it's in the background. Wtf? Surely that's the first thing it should do.

App crashes way too regularly, doesn't play local music on my S4 kitkat. Internet radio is fine though.

Z70%
by Z####:

Doesn't always work with internet radio, although local sources are fine. Sometimes freezes phone. Have reinstalled, see how it goes now! Update to review; 30th Jan 2014. App still frequently stops working and closes down. An automatic update has just been done, let's see if there is any improvement?

Z70%

App seems fundamentally flawed at the functional design level. It seems that the app is smart, and the cocoon is dumb, just waiting for commands from the app. So if I set an alarm on my phone, that function is stored on the phone, not in the cocoon. If you set or check alarms from other devices they have no idea what has already been set. Playing music from media server - if the cocoon app is not in focus playback ends at the end of the current song. Refocus on app and it moves to next track... poor design.

Z70%

Very flaky. App crashes all the time when trying to play local music. Haven't tried much else but this is already enough to make me regret of spending so much money for something so inadequate.

Sick of seeing "can not play" come up on my phones screen. Works fine on my wife's iPod. This android version is flawed and frustrating.

Z70%
by Z####:

there are several problems that need to be fixed: 1. the app on android (galaxy S3) is impossible to close, when trying to return from android main screen the app freezes. need to force closing in android task manager. 2. when playing from a multimedia server (a NAS) the app needs to stay open on the screen of the phone.. if the phone goes in standby mode the app do not send the next song to the cocoon.. you have to wake the phone and the app then send the new song. to use the app you have to keep your phone screen on and the battery goes low very fast! 3. songs in the remote server, or in the local phone contens, are listed ONLY in alphabetical order.. there is no way to play the songs in the album order.. the only ways to play an album are alphabetically or shuffle.. but not following the track number.. this is disappointing!! 4. the new version and the new fimware do not allow to assign names to the preset radio stations.. so you stay with the standard names. 5. in the "now playing" screen for internet radios you can only go with volume from 0 to 50.. if playing with remote server the volume range is correct 0-100. 6. impossible to wake cocoon from the app. always need remoter.

When I first downloaded the app for the Cocoon I thought it was amazing. You can control everything from your phone and even play local music. But after a while of playing with it I noticed a few major issues. First the app keeps crashing on my Note 2 and my wife's S3. Then I tried to play more than one song from my phone and you need stay on the app screen to hear the next song! It will only play the moment you return to the app screen. Very annoying! Please fix these issues....

The first day I installed this I thought it was brilliant. However, it hasn't worked since. For me, this app is a crucial part of the hardware. If I can't play internet radio then I would rather have another device that will. I will be going back to the store and having a chat.

The addition of a power off button to the android app is long overdue and greatly welcomed so now I don't have to use the horrible remote that came with my cocoon portable, now all it needs is complete access to all the cocoon settings so I don't have to spend 10 minutes bashing away at the + & - buttons on the unit trying to get into the menu.

Please put some effort into supporting this app. As others have said the Denon DSD 500 is a great bit of kit, which is let down badly by this app which is appalling!!!

OK so I purchased a Denon Cocoon Portable for use at home but also for the occasion when i'm away for the weekend at a holiday home I have the use of. So I thought I would set my Samsung Galaxy S4 up in AP mode and let the Cocoon use it as the AP...simple enough to do but when an android phone is in AP mode the WLAN is officially off so even though the Cocoon is registering with the phone and can play internet radio using the data connection the Denon Cocoon App will not start because it thinks WiFi is off. So I can't stream my "on phone" music to the cocoon Ok so Plan B switch the Cocoon to NETLINK mode where the Cocoon becomes and AP and phone joins it's WLAN. Phone joined no problem and this time the App started but could not find the Cocoon. I could see the cocoon using a web browser but the Denon Cocoon app wouldnt play ball so again no way to stream music from my phone to Cocoon In the end i used my wife's phone in AP mode and both my phone and the Cocoon joined as clients and then the app would work and I could play music..crap workaround. Portable in the name is a clue that you might want to take it with you but peer to peer doesn't work.
