mydlink Baby Camera Monitor

We have two of these, one in each of our daughters bedrooms. I've watched with interest as the user interface has been refreshed and updated over the last two years, but each upgrade seems to remove another bit of functionality. For some reason both cameras have dropped of the mydlink account, figured it should be easy to add them back but it is anything but. The option to 'join mydlink' has vanished. In summary, a great product, we use ours every day and once it's up and running it's pretty reliable.

...and if you have, take the hardware back for a refund before you waste hundreds of dollars. seriously, this product has failed to function 2 to 3 days a week for the last 22 months. in the last two or three weeks it's only *worked* 2 to 3 days a week. THIS company has your money. they don't care. look at the reviews... obviously they're covering their ears and repeating "I can't hear you, I can't hear you" and continue to NOT fix their app. this is a garbage company in my (and many others') opinion.

What was actually updated? I haven't been able to get into the app for the last 2 days on my S7 edge. I updated it today and guess what? I still can't get in! Do not buy this piece of crap, the camera works but the app doesn't so defeats the purpose. You people are crooks still having this product on the market!

Rarely works right twice in a row. Freezes often, when the app does connect to camera. Camera is quite good however the app is the crucial link to it and you would think with so many poor reviews dlink would make an effort to correct the apps performance. Tired of trying to open app and it just won't for no apparent reason.

Turned camera on to check baby. Couldn't access camera due to firmware upgrade. Spent next 20 mins waiting for upgrade. Camera in baby's room plays the switch on tune full toss, and wakes baby up!! Nice one you muppets

My husband and I can not view our camera half the time on both our phones. He has a iPhone I have a droid. I always have to log in even when I have it set on "remember me". When we do log in it's tell us our camera it not available. We've tried turning the camera off and on, uninstalling the app and reinstalling the app. It never saves my settings. We would really love to use our camera to it's full ability. Please fix these problems.

If this works it's great...but it only works 1/10 times. Inconsistency is the last thing you want with a baby product. Get your money back now if you can

Crashes constantly on my s7 and my wife's s5. So often that my phone tells me it has crashed something like 47 times in the past 2 weeks. What a useless piece of rubbish. Whoever developed this and thought it was ok for release should be fired immediately.

The camera is nice, but the App is making troubles when the device is connected to home network. If my phone is connected directly, it's working perfect. This means I must have separate device to be connected to the camera all the time. But this is not the way that it's supposed to be. I bought the camera right because I would be able to check my baby remotely anywhere around the world, but in fact it's almost impossible because of the freezing screen or lack of connection. Please fix this problems!

Terrible software. Crashes constantly, can't change half the settings on my phone, have to use my tablet or PC. Camera hardware is okay but this software almost makes it unusable. I have found the camera works much much better with the mydlink lite software. Easier to set up faster to load, doesn't crash, you can change all the camera settings.

App always freezes or quits working completely. Very disappointing and unreliable. Please fix this! What is the point of having an expensive camera if the app doesnt work?

constantly freezes. and my camera completely stopped working I can't access it at all anymore and it won't let me sign in. now I cant watch over my new born. horrible.

This is absolutely the worst piece of technology I have ever purchased. The camera constantly disconnects, resets itself, or the extremely frustrating application just simply freezes. The user interface is impossible to use without wanting to blow your brains out. Updates are few and far between and usually cause more problems than anything else. DO NOT PAY MONEY FOR THIS CAMERA!

The last update ruin everything. Connection drop, can't play my sd musics, wierd led behavier (on,off,on,off, on..)

Sucks, doesn't work. I'm a computer engineer and this is the worst piece of technology I've ever experienced. Definately not user error it's manufacturer error....complete waste of money. I have it and wish I'd had never bought it.

Honestly, I had all of the same complaints below. Why does it freeze all the time? Why is the music so loud? Why does it crash? The camera is great but the app sucks! Turns out, first the real issue was my WiFi connection. How did I discover that? Well, it worked great if I was anywhere other than my house. After fighting my provider for months on end, problem solved. 2nd issue, memory space on my phone. Some apps do not run properly if you don't have enough memory on your phone. Empty photos; Great!!

It's a decent app, but has a few issues. Be patient and you'll get there. Pro-tip: screw a gorilla pod into the camera base for a sweet alien looking baby monitor!

The monitor is a great idea but if you can't make an app that doesn't crash almost every time it is opened then the rest of the tech is meaningless. FIX THE APP OR I GO GET MY MONEY BACK for the monitor.

Im having a ton of problems with this and im very dissapointed . I xant download the required update it goes all the way and then says the update has failed , there is a 10-20 second lag which greatly concerns me with the saftey of my baby. Im not seeing any way to contact or troubleshoot the issues Im afraid im going to have to return the camera and delete the app

Love the camera, hate the app. Signs me out in the middle of the night and therefore cannot always hear or see what's going on. Big thumbs down.

appication is very very bad.dont buy this camera.at the same price d3d ip camera is available with more features .d3d is very good camera and application is working fine.

This camera has good design and facilities but software has some bug or mis-programming. When app is open in background I can hear baby room sound but when I open other app,room sound goes off that it seems correct, but If there happens any event such crying or etc camera app do not show any alert. Unfortunately you have to open camera app again and you can just see event counter counts. App option menu has related items (tone, alert type) but any sound do not comes out. Can anybody help me?

This is ridiculous my babe listens to the lullaby to fall asleep and has done this for the last 11ms and now she can't sleep because it just repeats #1 over and over instead of switching to 2. The app has this stupid pop up like others have said even when the app isn't running. The cherry on top is the app force stops itself and says error, so when i wake up to noises I am unable to see whats wrong right away I have to wait for my app to load again!!!!! Update Nov 2016 few problems have been fixed but main ones still exist. Because of the last update I can now no longer access my camera and havent been able to for the last two days.... *slow clap* well done

Decent for streaming monitoring. Very glitchy when going in and out of the app.

Never ever works when you really need it to. If you can get a view of your child at all, the picture usually freezes. Most of the time it just doesn't work at all.

just says camera unavailable, works maybe once and then doesnt for the next day or two. this really should be fixed.

It was a cheap quick fix to monitor my dog instead of getting an expensive petcam so I knew it wasn't perfect... but the latest update made everything worse! The camera keeps freezing/unavailable, I can't record video, the mic doesn't always work and whenever I open the app it wakes my dog up. Why is there a needless startup tone?!ugh

Sick of having to re-enter my email exchange when i go in to check the screen and see it has gone back to the start up menu.are these problems going to be fixed?! because this is very unhelpful especially at night! It is 4am and the camera has shutdown YET AGAIN! Fix this problem now! Not good enough!

Monitor skips when on and freezes. So you have to restart it. Set up takes 3 to 4 times to connect camera to the profile.

couldn't even find my camera, happily streaming to other apps

I use other apps which can view video on my 4g mobile easily but not this app

App is junk have to try multiple times to get camera to work
