DIY Vanity Table for Android
1. Measure the width, depth, and height of the space where you want to install the table. Measure the height of the chair you intend to use from the floor, and add four more inches above it so that you will have enough space to tuck you feet comfortably under the vanity set.
2. After the measurement is done, find an old dining table of your preference. This used furniture can be found at a reduced price at garage sales, flea markets, or antique stores. As long as the width and height of the table match your measurement, do not worry about its length as you will be able cut it to suit the required depth.
3. Cut the table along its length until its width suits the depth of the space where it needs to be, leaving it with two remaining legs. Use a circular saw so that you will get a straight cut. Sand the edges of the board to remove rough edges.
4. Paint or stain the table if you want to alter its look. Use pastel or floral patterns for feminine touch, a mahogany or dark cherry stain for classic look, or bright colors for a cheery mood.
5. Once coloring is done, you want to install the vanity against the wall. Attach a strip of wood under the back of the legless part and secure with some screws. As the board is attached to the table, you can now fasten the board to the wall. Make sure to screw the board against the stud to have a steady and secure vanity.
6. If you want skirting around the vanity, measure the sides of the table excluding the part attached to the wall as well as the height from the top to the floor. Add a few inches of measurement to the skirting fabric, cut it in half, and sew all four hems of each part. Attach a part of the skirting from the back to the front of one side of the vanity and do the same with the other side. This will make the seams of each part gather in front. Use Velcro tape or upholstery tacks to attach the fabric to the sides of the table.
7. Find a mirror big enough for your vanity table and install it against the wall right above the vanity. Match the mirror's frame to the color of the table.
