DIY Crochet Slippers for Android
Things You'll Need
Yarn, Hook, Tapestry needle, and Slipper Materials.
You probably have acrylic worsted weight yarn in your closet, and since it's both washable and durable, it's the perfect yarn to use to make your first pair of slippers. Or, you may prefer wool -- choose a super-wash wool so it won't felt when washed -- for a breathable slipper. But if you have skin sensitivities or prefer the soft quality of the yarn, use cotton. Use a crochet hook that is appropriate for the yarn weight you choose.
Whatever yarn you choose, you should add some sort of non-slip material to the bottom of your slipper, such as a few dots or lines of puffy paint or liquid latex. Premade slipper soles out of leather/pleather are sometimes available at craft stores.
Slipper Design
Since every foot is different, my pattern might not fit your foot exactly. I made up this pattern as I went, and a few times I had to rip out a row or two and redo it to better fit my feet. I tried on the slipper as I went and adjusted the stitches based on my foot shape. Be confident while you crochet your first pair, and remember that you don't have to follow a pattern -- experiment to create the perfect slippers for your feet!
For example size 7.5/8 foot, I used worsted weight and a 4mm hook.
For this pattern, you'll need to know how to do a magic circle, chain (ch), slip stitch (slip st), double crochet (dc), half double crochet (hdc), and know how to work in the round. And to know more about it you can find out more impressive designs in this application of DIY Crochet Slippers.
Enjoy and make your own crochet slippers!
