L'Alto Adriatico è un mare straordinariamente ricco di risorse: le sue lunghe spiagge, i diversi habitat che ospita, dagli estuari alle lagune, e la sua spiccata pescosità gli hanno garantito da sempre un ruolo centrale nella cultura e nelle tradizioni produttive delle popolazioni costiere. Questa guida interattiva permette l'identificazione delle specie di pesci che abitano e frequentano la Laguna di Venezia, la più grande dell'Alto Adriatico e un ambiente di grande interesse naturalistico. Tra specie residenti come cavallucci marini, cefali, ghiozzetti e pesci ago e visitatori più occasionali, la lista comprende più di 100 specie ittiche. La guida è stata concepita come strumento didattico per le scuole del territorio e come un aiuto per chi frequenta la Laguna (guide naturalistiche, appassionati di mare, pescatori sportivi, subacquei e turisti). I caratteri usati per l'identificazione delle specie sono semplici e chiari (forma del corpo, numero delle pinne, presenza e posizione di spine, dimensioni ed orientamento della bocca, ecc.), così da rendere l'esperienza del riconoscimento accessibile a tutti.


La guida è stata sviluppata nell'ambito del progetto interreg SiiT (Strumenti interattivi per l'identificazione della biodiversità : un progetto educativo in un'area transfrontaliera), finanziato nell'ambito del Programma per la Cooperazione Transfrontaliera Italia-Slovenia 2007-2013, dal Fondo europeo di sviluppo regionale e dai fondi nazionali. This interactive guide allows the identification of the species of fish that live in and attend the Venice Lagoon, the largest of the Northern Adriatic and an environment of great natural interest. Among resident species such as seahorses, mullet, pipefish and ghiozzetti and occasional visitors, the list includes more than 100 species of fish. The guide is designed as an educational tool for local schools and as an aid to those who attended the Laguna (naturalist guides, ocean enthusiasts, anglers, divers and tourists). The characters used for the identification of the species are simple and clear (body shape, number of fins, the presence and location of thorns, size and orientation of the mouth, etc..), So as to make the experience of recognition accessible to all.


The guide has been developed as part of the Interreg SIIT (Interactive tools for the identification of biodiversity: an educational project in an area border), funded under the Cooperation Programme Italy-Slovenia 2007-2013, by European Regional Development Fund and national funds.
