VOIP.ms Messenger Free for Android
It's a very promising app. I like the push notifications. The other voip.ms app did not have push notifications. The UI can use a makeover though. I will use this app from now on assuming that future UI improvements will be done in the foreseeable future
But do I always get my texts? Not always by push. I have to make sure I am getting them by the sync option from time to time.
It worked great until I reinstalled it in Nougat. Now I have to manually sync every time I want to receive sms. Wish I knew which other apps I have to have running and which permissions to make this work. Was 5 stars when autosync and push worked.
Worked first time, including push notifications, no hassles. Also interfaces with contact list. Not a lot of bells and whistles ..... but just seems to do everything you actually need. Well done.
Easy set up
This is a good initial release but I will not be using it as my daily VoipMS messenger app. The UI is ugly and harder to use, and there needs to be more settings made available for notifications. Other than that, I'm hoping the development will continue on this app as similar ones have been abandoned.

Messages should have the option to be displayed newest at the bottom. This makes them easier to read when a single text is broken into multiple messages/bubbles. This app is just as sluggish when initially loading g and flipping between menus and message feeds as the other VoIP.ms and app.
