Disa (Unified Messenger Hub) for Android
Really nice to use, just missing a couple of things that would make it perfect. As a daily WhatsApp user I'm missing being able to use shortcuts for italics/bold etc. and have it show up on my screen. The absence of the reply feature is also a shame. Apart from that, everything works great. Edit: Wow, genuinely very impressed with quick reply from devs, extra star for being cool. I'm looking forward to the implementation of the new features.
A great app to put everything in one place and getting rid of messenger for Facebook has saved loads of battery. Only reason this isn't five star is because you can't mute notifications from group chats on WhatsApp and having 30+ messages a day from a large group means a lot of vibrating
No way to disable nag screen about running in background. And no, I want my phone to use Android doze, I do not want this app disrupting that. You should let the user have a choice, not pop up every single time that the app is opened to enable a setting that they do not want. Since the developer refuses to provide a fix, I'm uninstalling.
But that's really not hard. I do like it, its the best alternative to facebook messenger i've found. But it often fails to open, becomes unresponsive and hangs before my phone prompts me to force close it. I've reinstalled, same issue. Using Sony Xperia Z5 compact. Does this even after reboot, and no other apps in use.
Notifications stopped working I first installed this app about a year ago to avoid Facebook Messenger, and I also use it for a WhatsApp group text at work. At first it worked perfectly, but some time ago I stopped getting notifications from both apps (although I still get the messages). This is a serious problem, as it doesn't help to get messages if you don't know they're there. Have tried to fix this but no luck yet.
Great app, I removed FB messenger app today with its pile of useless features. Disa has this simplistic design that I really like. Probably later on, colours and background are going to be customisable but on the whole it's a good app. Haven't faced any issues yet.
The up side: It works. It helps keep everything together well and the merge function is great. The down side: Although it has my main three options it is lacking some other notable names. For WhatsApp you have to delete the WhatsApp app in order to setup the function within Disa. Also unlike the text and Facebook options the messages that were there are not transferred in. Finally couldn't see any backup options. I had WhatsApp performing a daily backup to Google drive.
I use it instead of facebooks messenger, it's better, less bloated, but on my nexus 5X it takes 5-20% of battery every charge cycle, even when not open. I turned off background data, and it became usable, but that's just a crude hack
For the second time within a short time span I have had problems with the Whatsapp plugin. Directly after updating the plugin I have had to verify my number again (ok), but while trying to verify, I received an error that my version was to old and I should update it (which I just did). Last time the only solution was reinstalling the complete app and it immediately worked like a charm again. However this meant losing all my messages. This time I will stop using the app for Whatsapp and only continue for Facebook, which is a shame as I lose the combining functionality this way...
Like it so far, I'd love more personalisation to the UI, background pics, font etc, dark theme. Tabs would be nice so everything isn't jumbled together ie: 1,2,3 etc. A Skype plug in would be appreciated, I can get rid of three resource heavy apps then and the loathsome FB messenger.
Love that it combines my 3 main messengers. Sadly it can be a quite laggy and sometimes freezes on the conversations pane. Would love to see a Skype and instagram plugin. How do I view/change my WhatsApp profile picture!?
I love the simplicity of this app. Facebook Messenger is quickly turning in to a quagmire o crap. Constantly adding things that should probably be in the Facebook app instead of Messenger. Share your day anyone? FM at one time was a great communications app. If this app could call and receive calls from other FBM users I'd drop Messenger like the bloated beached whale that it has become.
Great app super light and easy to use. Doesn't use much space like Facebook messenger or WhatsApp and it doesn't have enoying notifications i highly recommend it . Ps : i hope that you add the ability to watch youtube video that have been sent in Facebook in the chat .
I love this app! Having all my chats in the same place is fantastic. The only thing i would like to add currently is an option to send with the enter key, since i have a phone with a physical keyboard.
Works for me, FB, Whatsapp and texts are the ones that I use. It still needs polishing but the devs seems pretty responsive which is always a good thing. And yes, as many people mentioned, dark theme would be great
I hate fb messenger. I don't like the pop up bubble notifications and I don't like how it, perplexing, just didn't occasionally notify me of a new message. These problems stopped when I integrated my fb account with disa. Merging different services is easy and switching messaging apps on the fly is easy and convenient. I wish I could link more services and use WhatsApp video calling feature via disa.
When it works is great. But it has broken now three times. Once it breaks you can do nothing and you can neither send nor receive. you must uninstall and install again
Messenger kept crashing, switched to Disa. Bringing together several accounts is nice, the app not crashing (not even once) is nice too. And it looks good. I only wish I could really switch it off, it keeps popping up no matter what. And I'm unsure if my status being invisible really is the case...
Great app for the most part. Only bug that I have noticed is it tends to lock up the phone for a few seconds when it receives a Facebook message and you are currently using the Facebook app. Besides that, it works great
Unlike certain other messaging apps, this deals with the needed stuff - text based messages. No crowbarred in photo first nonsense here. Sadly, very slow to start.
This is a great replacement for Facebook Messenger. I don't use WhatsApp or the SMS features, but Facebook doesn't care that I am unable to see what I'm typing in the official app, so I had to try something else.
Was a good app but for some time now the notifications have stopped working. Its not a problem on my device as I have checked it. Also others are having the same issue. Its useless if notifications are not working.
Disa is great app. I used it for WhatsApp, please add reply and quotes feature. Another problems I can't change User name and can't add emoticons in status (also in username). Please help. It would be better. Thx.
I was having a hard time getting facebook and facebook messenger to load and open on my nook, then I saw reviews saying Disa was a good platform and tbh it was my last hope and I'm glad it works so efficiently and clean . No problems. Truly easy to use with up to date emojis. Glad I installed.
It kinda gets the job done, but is very limited in functionality. The big one for me is being able to "Mark Messages As Unread", because I do not always have time to respond imidiately, so I can mark as unread. At the moment when you tap and hold on the message, dialog pops up and you have 4 options - copy, forward, share, delete - just add there "Mark as unread". Please! :) Used to love this feature in Headcent app - they had ton of features, really loved them, but traded in my love for the ability to have all my conversation within one app. One more annoying thing - when you combine conversations you have to choose the main one, but there is no way to change it later. You have to uncombine to do that, but it takes a lot of time, to find all of those conversation again within hundreds of other conversations. It dont have to be so complicated, just add option to change main conversation within "Solo options" window. Thank you! Will increase my rating when these things are fixed. :)
That's right. This is being used on my BlackBerry Passport running BlackBerry OS10. With Whatsapp and Facebook dropping support for the platform, this app has emerged as the best replacement. Its great on battery life and provides fully hub integrated push notifications. Great job, developers!
Very nice alternative to official messenger apps. It's a bit slow to open and missing some of the extra features, but it gets the job done without all the extra permissions and useless bloat.
Had this app for a long time and waiting for new plug-ins, sounds like none are coming. Are there going to be any new plug-ins? Sounds like development for other services has stopped indefinitely.
Makes the app literally useless! Why have a WhatsApp replacement that can't send the WhatsApp security codes
Still needs some fine-tuning, like for example an archiving functionality or the problem with having both disa and whatsapp installed (since you need to uninstall whatsapp itself you can no longer use the web functionality of whatsapp on your computer). Apart from that; very promising app to combine your messaging functionalities into one app which is SO much better than having to constantly switch between them!!!
It's very useful app, specially for dual SIM mobile users. Please add the feature of sending and receiving documents like excel , word and PDF files. Also add forwarding multiple messages.
Nice app but its kill my mobile battery
I've been searching for an app like this for some time. I wonder if voice and video calls(at least for facebook) are on your roadmap. :) Anyway, good job.
Although Disa is a good option to use what'sapp we need voice and video call besides I can't join groups by links that would be great.
It just awesome... But I am unable to send media files. Kindly help me.
Worked good on my Nexus 6p for awhile, but after being updated it causes major slowdowns on the phone. Do not recommend.
Really like the app i love the fact it has the audio recording to send audio in fb messenger which is a plus for me but fb messenger sending forwards in messenger why do i have to send a forward to one person at a time instead of being able to send a forward to multiple ppl at once or am i doing something wrong?....i am not unistalling becuz i think it is better then the regular fb app...how about adding twitter to it
I love the app and using it since past 6 months, working perfectly, but only problem which i face that I am not able to attach or send any files, like .pdf files. If this feature add to the app then it will make it complete.
Doesn't really deliver. Plugin development is non-existent. The WhatsApp Plugin developer quit, no Telegram support in sight, etc. Only SMS and semi-working FB (no stickers,..) are left.

Pros. Great intuitive user interface. Potential for joining all your chats into one app. Great customer service, they contacted me about an issue I had to try and help resolve it. Cons. Limited amount of options for chat services, such as no hangouts or Skype. Also an issue with group SMS messages. I have an area code different than where I live and this application, only in group messages, replaces friends area codes with mine resulting in me messaging random strangers with similar phone numbers.
