DIRECTV Remote for Samsung

I didn't like it when it was working, and now I completely despise the fact it's not working! I understand AT&T and Samsung decided to make this app an exclusive feature for the latest flagship Galaxy devices to create an all out ease of use experience but I truly wish they would've worked out all the bugs beforehand. My recalled Note 7 device connected fine, but my new device will not find the recievers at all even after manually inputting the IP address. It should also have the ability to control channels

I can't stream DirecTV on my phone but it will not let the phone change channels on the TV it says needs to be connected to same network. Under connected receivers all it has is a blue dot. When I hit refresh nothing happens. Try to enter IP address manually and nothing happens. Everything works fine on my iPad would like this to work on Samsung S7 too.

Previous "unlimited" data complaints related to watching via the Direct TV app have been resolved since it now doesn't affect data. However, in 5 months after at least as many visits to the at&t store, our pricing is still not correct, promised credit has not been applied, and on the latest bill the Direct TV went back up! Never had this trouble with Sprint phone and cable TV. Still don't think it's worth it.

The app is a good idea. I have a lot of reflection in my house so my actual remote is finicky. I just wish I would stop getting consistent error reports that the app has stopped working and I'm not even using it!

I really like the idea of swiping down to quickly access my remote but all it does is pause/ff/rew tv. Not sure how that's useful. If I could change the channel or jump to last channel id love it!

I can't uninstall this useless crap. Seriously, I'm sure it's great for some people, but for me it's junk. I remember a time when you were actually able to download apps you actually wanted/needed. That practice made sense. Today's practice of just forcing your bs religion on us so ya'll can line your pockets, is crap.

I don't like this app, nor do I use it. You don't even get the option to Uninstall it. Also on the related app, I keep getting the message "Unfortunately, Direct TV had stopped working". I have tried to Uninstall it, but Direct TV app keeps popping back up. If it continues, I'm strongly considering switching carriers.

Why must you waste space on my phone with this useless crap? Direct TV sucks and now you force me to have it on my phone! I love Samsung but all these useless apps that came on my phone really bother me. If I wanted the dam app then I'd download it myself! Just because it's the "hot new app" doesn't mean I want it!

OK I don't care it stopped working, I want it deleted and there is no option for that. So frustrating

I'm not sure what this app is supposed to do. I connect it to my receiver, input the ip address, and it looks good to go. I open the app and it tells me to swipe down to access the remote. There's no remote option. Nothing happens. What's the purpose of this app?

I had satellite TV and no matter what you say, it will NOT work when the weather gets even a little bad. A buddy of mine has had Directv for 2 months and it goes out often. And not trees don't obstruct it.

Let us change the channel, or even access the DVR playlist, adjust volume, something. Just expand the app.

There isn't even a "select" button I can find, once you open the guide or menu there is no way to get rid of it. How pathetic.

So many problems. 1. While I have DirecTV, I do not have a compatible receiver, making this app useless. 2. Since I can't use this app, I would not install it on my device. 3. Frankly it's kind of infuriating that I don't have a choice in the matter (other than to disable it.) Thanks, AT&T, for yet again making a terrible app that no one should have.

First the app is good for some things like catching up on the last episode but when it comes to actually watching like football games it sucks it will tell you,you can watch it on your phone and then it won't let you so fix the app so

I canceled it years ago! My phone came with it. I would rather not have the waste of space on my phone!

Galaxy S7 edge - finds my receiver (after I told it the IP) Says to swipe down for remote, but nothing happens - then goes to settings... ?

So why do I have to be forced to keep this stupid thing on my phone when I will never get Direct TV. Plus this damn error message keeps popping up saying it's not working so you want to report it. No I just want it off my phone in general.

Manually add IP adress??? Then it so want even work. This thing sucks

I don't even want this on my phone, but I guess att just assumes I do! It does nothing but drain my battery and constantly alert me that direct TV has stopped working! I can't stand this!

This is driving me crazy, can't delete it and I don't even have Direct TV....it came on my phone and there seems to be nothing I can do. Can't Delete

Why do i keep getting a pop up that keeps saying " Unfortunately, Direct TV has stopped"?? Please fix this. Its anoying and pops up everytime i am on my phone. Thanks

Have only used the app occasionally to record programs on my DVR. After the latest update the app has been using 25% of my battery without ever accessing the app and it constantly crashed when I am using other apps. Since it can't be deleted from my AT&T Galaxy S7 phone I ended up disabling it.

I don't have direct TV and have np interest in getting. However this app refuses to uninstall and continues to update. Unfortunately rooting isnt an option either :(

REMOVE FROM APPS! It takes up space and I don't even have Direct TV. Should be something that anyone with Direct TV has the OPTION to download.

I see my receivers but cannot get it to do anything. What is it supposed to do. Totally useless. I want it off my phone.

Samsung S6 & G2 watch. Works well with my gene box. I like the all in one option, beats having multiple apps like comcast. I like the remote app on the watch even better.

Not sure if this is the app that's causing this box to come up constantly that says unfortunately direct TV has stopped. It's driving me frigging crazy.

Garbage. And keeps starting on its own and gives a error message it has shut down.

If I could give it no stars I would. I have to add it manually but it will not validate the IP address.

I dont watch TV.. I cannot uninstall. Hate it.

I disabled it when I fit this phone and now it keeps piping up that it has stopped working. It's rather annoying!

How is this remote helpful if all you can do is pause, rewind and fast forward. Actual DirecTV app is much better.
